It's also pretty cool how she was going to uphold her end of the bargain before Ventus engaged her instead
Im pretty sure Maleficent was holding herself, not to destroy Ventus but to knock him out, she uses more stun attacks like the sleeping curse and such instead of the destructive attacks she used against Sora like Meteors of Heaven, Fire, Heartless and such
Yeah she seems to be a bit more powerful than Ventus, it seems like the only attack that Ven actually manages to hurt her with is the Joint Force one
Eh, possibly or she just became more proficient in the ways of magic and wielding Darkness. Also, PSP limitations may have had to do with big her AOEs could be.
Ventus houses one of these creatures known as "Darkness" , thus giving this fight some extra points of interest
The Maleficent fight in KH1 was harder than the one here but this version certainly gave Maleficent a cooler moveset and a cooler fight in general

Well ... Storywise, Wayfinder trio is treated as Legends, or atleast equal to King Mickey ... Including Ven ...
It's weird seeing Maleficent without the Heartless on her side.
This is set 10 years before the events of the first Kingdom Hearts game, considering that the Heartless (despite some residing in the Realm of Darkness) weren't a threat during that time period, and the Heartless didn't destroyed Maleficent's homeworld.

Loved this fight! I enjoyed how SE gave Maleficent a wide array of attacks, and the fact she turns into her magical teleporting ball(like in the movie) is amazing!

Can we just agree that Ven has to put up with the most repetitive bosses? I.E. Maleficent, Metamorphosis and Hook
And to a lesser extent Vanitas ( but I think those fights are fun so they get a pass in my book)
I like Hook's fight
Man, I was such an idiot with this fight. Spent 80% of the battle on the bottom ground using fire and blizzard to damage her before thinking “Can’t I just jump or run up the stairs to her?” Felt like slamming my head on my controller when I figured that out.

3:24 I like how the game uses the Sleeping Curse as one of her attacks, and that like the original fairy tale, the Fairies are there to help counter it.

Fact: There is no save point directly before reaching her. You fall down somewhere in the castle and you can't return nor does Ventus have business in the dungeon.

True. On proud/critical she is a monster if you are underleveled.
Nearly 70 years earlier, Maleficent killed 4 Keyblade Weilders (the events of Dark Road). But it seems she's holding back for some reason...
Wasnt the Maleficent(Dragon form)encounter with said Keyblade wielders just an illusion?From what i remember it was actually Baldur(overtaken by darkness)that killed the 4 Keybladers.

Ok but ngl in this battle I was running around he circle with dodge and I only attacked when the fairies where ready so I didn't really do much but spam square
I thought this game could of been much better if there was a way of being able to cure up use items

Sorry, but I prefer Eleanor Audley’s voice as Maleficent because she acts mature while Susanne Blakeslee acts immature in this game.

When you have a chance look at the game and you'll see what I mean. And pretty much why Roxas and Ven look the same.

Birth By Sleep is the prequel to the first game. It takes place 10 years before the first one. Its centered around 3 Keyblade users: Ventus, Terra and Aqua. I don't want to spoil the game too much but let's just say things don't end well for them.
And yes Sora is in the game but he's a kid. Same for Riku. And yes Kairi is in the game to but she's not on the islands yet.
If you wish to know more give the game a look see. Its pretty fun. You can play it on a PSP or on Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Final Mix for the PS3.
Ven is not Roxas. Roxas is Sora's Nobody; Ven is his own person. I know it's been months since you commented last, but I don't know if you played it yet, and I'd rather not go into detail if that's the case.

Roxas looks like Ventus due to his heart being inside Sora at the time of his creation. In fact it's heavily implied that Roxas may have unknowingly been housing Ven's heart within his body which allowed him to use light and kept a connection to Sora's keyblade. Furthermore he could dual would Keyblades because he unconsciously tapped into Ven's Keyblade.
