I cut back a year ago on eating grits, but when I do eat them, I add butter, black pepper, and bacon bits, or sausage. Cherry Grove is my favorite beach😊 Enjoy and have a safe trip home…God Bless.

We love Myrtle Beach. We have family there and we visit a couple of times a year. Had not ever gone to The Shack but I think we NEED to. Love your videos. Thanks.

I’ve never been a fan of grits but to each their own.

Can you put a link to your other channel? I can’t seem to find it.
So did y’all use to live in SC there?
Looks like a great little place to eat at. I love little places like that.

No, we've never lived there. My mom and stepdad bought a lot in Little River, and put a mobile home there back in the early 80s, just to have a place to get away to. Now that he is deceased, we try to get down every few months to check on it.
Here is the link to the video I mentioned on my old channel. It is nothing like our channel now, in that I just made videos of whatever. Also, the video quality was not as good back then. But I did upload the video of the sharks, on that channel. It was 13 years ago.

Those chairs outside would be nice to have in the yard. Looked like a cute place. It must have taken a lot of men to pull that shark in.

Butter and sugar on grits are the way to go. Breakfast isn't complete without them.

My family and I ate there for supper a few years ago. We were not that impressed and wondered what all the hoopla was all about. Perhaps we'll try breakfast next time. I like to give places 2 tries at a minimum because everyone has a bad day.

We've never been for supper, so I can't comment on that aspect. But it's a decent breakfast at a decent price.

as you know, or we have chatted before, cherry grove is second home for us, the shack has been a staple for my family for over 20 years. it has been a few years since we have been there, we wanted to start trying other places also. but the atmosphere is really nice, and the staff are always friendly. have always loved there food. this was are staple for lunch every year as we arrived for our weeks vacation, and breakfast when we left to come back home. but they have changed there opening times, and we leave earlier now to drive our 9+ hours. not sure we have ever had anything bad there. funny you mentioned about sugar on your grits, Ditto my friend. also we are having chicken bog this week for dinner as well. great review, and nice to see the shack is still going strong. Funny on the eggs, guess maybe they went to small eggs to keep there prices still low for there customers.

Yes, we figured they might have started getting smaller eggs for that reason. We've only been there twice, but enjoyed it both times.
Have you all tried Hoskins, on any of your trips down there? I personally think that is the best flounder filet in the area.

@@NCMemoryMakers i get ya, glad you liked the shack, really good local food. i think good restaurants are doing whatever they can to keep prices similar, to keep folks coming back. crazy times we live in right now. we have for sure tried hoskins. pretty good. never tried the flounder, will have to try that. not big on flounder, every time i have had it, been really fishy smell and taste, so turns me off to it. i have seen your reviews on flounder at different places. i might have to give a try again somewhere again. i have to watch fried foods due to not having my gal bladder anymore, lol

I remember it being that, but I don't think we ever tried it then. The 2 times we have been there, it was The Shack. I would like to have tried it before.
