    The timing chain of this bike is stretched and needs to be replaced. To stop the crank turning back by itself you can either take the spark plug out, or putting it in gear will also help. Also, fuck everyone who is being hard on this kid for working on his own bike. You have to start learning somewhere

      EXACTLY!!! but... i have one like this(Keeway ARN 125 4t,with 39000 kms) exactly 1/2 tooth off,due to a very stretched timing chain,but the bike runs well; just,the compression is 12 bar,instead of the factory 15 bar,but it runs almost fine,still does 91 km/hr top speed; within less than a year,i will have to put a new chain in. i'm a mechanic;

    If the flywheel wants to move like that you are on tdc of the exhaust stroke not the comperssion stroke, turn the flywheel another full turn until you get to the T again. Little late but might help somebody else.

    it is chinese yes
    but this happens to hondas too
    in this engine the cam sprocket is 180 degrees off which is no big deal actually
    now if you put it wright it is going to be again half a tooth off this is because the sprocket in the crankshaft has not a guide and it causes this.
    anyways stop judging this kid hes trying to learn just like you years before
    and yes kid your bike is fine leave it as it is

  • @dylaneagleton3090
    @dylaneagleton3090 6 років тому +6

    You will need to adjust the flywheel 180 degrees because it is on the intake stroke not the combustion stroke and the springyness is the valve spring opening the intake valve
    *thats what happened to me when I put it back together*

    You can move the cam sprocket in the head while lifting the chain off just slightly enough to get the sprocket in the right position and bam you'll be fine. Might want to check your valves too while your at it

    It's just off one tooth, take the three screws out and pull the gear off the cam, and scoot the chain over the cam sprocket and put it back on. It will run one tooth off either way, one will give more bottom to mid range and the opposite way will lose some bottom end torque but will rev higher. Kinda a preference thing and how you ride or the track you ride on. Good luck buddy

  • @aukanmeister
    @aukanmeister 3 роки тому +1

    Fun to read the comments. So many people are quite sure of what is "wrong" here. 180 degrees off, jumped a tooth and I don't know what.. This is why we need to teach our children that the internet is sometimes not correct.

  • @stock92csm

    stretched chain is correct... the method used to fix this is called "degreeing" the cam and that's where you get an adjustable cam gear (or just slot the factory one so u can adjust it) and set it to be perfect.

    • @anthonymacaluso1488

  • @brettoliver3691

    Its the stator magnets, thats causing the engine to turn, the cam may be one tooth out but t looks a little to close for that, its most likey that it a cheap chinese motor and their maching isnt so good..

  • @fotisterz7068

    i've seen this happening before..the rear sprocket on the crankshaft is a press fit and it needs to be extracted and pressed back to the right position which should be the woodruff notch on the left side of the crankshaft between two teeth of the crank sprocket..

    Timing chains don't stretch ?? Wonder why companies waste their time selling pre-stretched chains as an option for then ??
    I am glad Skoda sold their 1.3L replacement timing chain pre stretched or none of the cars would have run .......
    MMMM , i wonder why spring loaded tensioner's are fitted for ?
    Surely this cannot simply be for roller wear .....
    Firstly look under the engine for a timing chain adjuster spring housing nut just off center of the flywheel, if yours has it then remove it and the spring .Shove a long screwdriver into the plunger hole as hard as you can , and note the sprocket position to see if the tensioner was simply stuck ( the timing marks now line up ) or if the chain / sprockets are worn ( No difference to the mark positions ) .
    If the timing is still out -
    You will need to strip the head and barrel off to inspect the timing sprocket and the guide sprocket in the barrel , then if they are not worn you have to remove the flywheel and back plate with the electrics on to gain access to the tensioner and bottom sprocket , if they are ok then you will need to replace the chain , your better off replacing the chain along with the bottom and top sprockets , the bottom one will need heating with a blow lamp to aid in it's removal as they are hot pressed onto the shaft in the factory ( sweated on ) .Sounds daunting but easy really .
    If you find the chain is just stretched , make a video of it laid along side a new one with the first chain pins in line to enlighten the idiots of the fact that chain plates do stretch .
    Though after 4 years i would have hoped you had it done by now anyway .......
    And before you idiots start ripping me apart , i have 40 years in the engineering / motor trade , type in judds porsche to see a 630BHP monster ive worked on getting caught on police camera .
    Yes i can work on anything from a Mobylette to a super car , and make them better.......

    Take plug out
    Remove cam pulley bolts
    Line flywheel with mark move cam pulley teeth around on chain until it lines up with mark
    Tighten everything up and do couple turns with spanner to make sure all stays aligned 👍

    just seen this ,thumbs up to all that gave good answers on this and the kid is asking for some help here not to be sniffed at and basically not told to fuck off he as got some guts asking as seen a many of want to fixers with there bike and just ended up scraping it in the end as they do not know what the fuck there doing so thumbs up to the kid as well ,,if you took the spark out you will get less suck on the fly well and even if he had taken the fly wheel off removed the stater plate the would not have been any suck or pull back and he can just sit the fly wheel on turn it and get the timing right this way as to look at it ,it was only out by one tooth any way ,and just replaced at the parts and it would have run fine ,so to all you hard to make happy people that give answers that he did not want to here just not bother

    right kid firstly line up the t with the notch then undo all three 9 mm bolts on the sproket then take the chain off the sproket make sure the fly wheel is still lined up and line up the sprocket to the notch on the cylinder head then keep turning the engine over with the sproket on and the chain on with everything lined up untill you find that the three holes on the sprocket have lined up with the threaded holes in the cam then tighten the bolts back into the cam with the sproket still.. finish

      Hello, can you please help me with this timing, when i readjust the cam sproket do i need to just insert the bolts and thats it or do i need to spin the cam at some direction and then line up the bolts becouse in your case im just moving the cam sproket and that shouldnt do anything

    remove the spark plug and it wont spring back.. it springs back because its at TDC of compressio and the compressed air is pushing the piston back .. so the flywheel springs back ... time with spark plug removed .. first bring it to TDC then remove the spark plug then re adjust the flywheel..

    I gaurantee you if you put a new cam gear on, and dont put a new cam chain, it will line up fine. Ive had this same issue before. you are 1/2 tooth off because the teeth on the cam gear are worn. they tend to wear fast on these engines, due to a poor oil system to the gear. theres just a tiny hole that lets oil go to the gear. I am a master motorcycle mechanic on the ct70 and 50 motors., I know everything abt them.
