      @UnEqual Reality wow look who is talking, haha, i am sure you kept all you promises all your life. It takes a dipshit to freely insult people like you do, i am only stating facts while all you have are insults. who is the dipshit now ? Don't trust people to do the right hing you wont be disappointed, thank you for the demonstration.

      @UnEqual Reality This is actually at the base of stoicism, Plato, Socrates, you own the world when you expect nothing from it. I do not expect you to understand or to be smart hence i am not disappointed by you and i am amused by your naive simplicity, Now go cry to your mama ...

    My biggest annoyance as I watch you, off-gridders, skoolies/van-life folks, world travelers, tiny house peeps and others adopting less traditional ways of living is all of the viewers that think it is their job to tell you want to do. No one else is there on a day to day basis. No one else knows all of the particulars and challenges you make. So don't let the critics get under your skin. You use your best judgement and when, on occasion you make a mistake it's your problem, not theirs. You guys rock!! I very much enjoy watching your journey. May you live in love and find peace in your own special ways.

Watching your vlogs has sparked my interest in following this path. Most probably because we are a family of 5 and you make it look that it's possible doing this as a family. Pretty cool. Thank you for documenting your experience. I'll stick around :) (from Portugal)

Beyond that it is more guessing than fact. I would update Gribs at least every 1.5 or 2 days. Daily if you can afford the cost while making crossings. Thanks for the great video!

    Awesome vid! Love the fishing teamwork! Congrats on graduating! This was one of my favorite Zatara episodes. I think because I place so high of value on my children it's more enjoyable for me to watch you vs other channels without children. There's a major difference between sailing for you and sailing for them. Keith, I too am a DP fan. Luckily my family likes yellow soda, so I don't have to hide my own stash! Great job on the long journey. As an airline pilot, I really love instrumentation - so it's really satisfying when you show the shots of your electronics and instrumentation! Love the Mavic shot at the end! Hey! If you have a screen recorder on your smart device (Like DU Recorder), try posting the on screen view with instrumentation for the Mavic! Check the res though,,, it might be too low to use in your vids. Not sure what resolution DU Recorder takes. Check out our latest vids if you get a chance. It would mean the world to us as your fans to see a like or comment from you! Thanks again. You guys are our favorite! ~ Josh

    I grew up on a ranch just like Keith and I miss it too. I think I'm also drawn to these sailing videos because these long ocean passages are allot like ranching because you're working together with your family, you're improvising fixes for things that are broken, you're totally self sufficient, you're catching your own food, Mom is keeping everyone fed. These long voyages are not much different than working a ranch during the summer. I think that's why I like the ocean passage videos better than the destination videos; unless you're exploring the Mediterranean.

      I know right?! The resemblance is so striking-Keith’s Rock hard abs and protruding back hair, and my yoga butt coupled with a healthy dose of cellulite-
      but no, we aren’t La Vagabonde. However, your confusion is understandable.

    I really enjoy your videos! The theme song makes me remember all the time I spent on the water with my dad when I was younger. I only hope that someday I'll find my way back out on the water sailing around the world. You are creating some unforgettable memories with your kids that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. Enjoy every minute of it!

    On the bread machine. Get a converter

    • @SailingZatara
      @SailingZatara  5 років тому +8

      There are many things that cannot be converted due to the frequency difference; small things are fine like battery chargers, but larger things like small appliances and electric motors can’t handle the lower frequency of 50hz. Thus the reason we had to buy lots of new electronic items.

      There are adapters that fit your bill. Just have to look harder and they are more expensive. Look on amazon. Always better with American spec appliances

    • @carbonhazard
      @carbonhazard 5 років тому +2

      @@philipmarro6610 an adapter wont convert 50hz to 60hz. on the back of many power supplies, you can switch between 50 and 60hz but if there's not that switch, you either get a new power supply or (usually cheaper) get a new device / appliance.
      although you could get a 60hz generator and switch the system over, then you'd have to change out all the appliances that aren't compatible which wouldn't make as much sense.

      An alternative as a 110v inverter from your dc bank large enough to run the appliances. Still a project, but would allow you to have both 110v 60hz and 220v 50hz. These need to be isolated.
      If it were me, I would start with an inverter based on the galley hull, a few receptacles in the galley and a few on that side of the main cabin.
      Granted ideas are like birthdays, everyone has them, and everyone thinks theirs is special!

    Anna many congratulations on graduating. How cool are your parents that there's no pressure in regards to college. My feet didn't touch the ground. Can't remember there ever being a discussion about University and as soon as my equivalent of high school was over, it was bags packed and off I went for another 3 years. Different times back then, in that the internet didn't exist (makes me sound ancient) and I now make a living online which was never an option back then as it didn't exist. Interestingly the work I do now (digital marketing) there still aren't really courses you can do at University to learn it, and so if I was your age now and with the knowledge I have I would most definitely be learning what I wanted to and from which ever source, and no doubt progress in my career far quicker than a 3 year degree would provide. How times have changed. Whatever you decide to do, and when you decide to, make sure it is something that really interests you and I wish you all the best of success for the future. In the meantime, fair winds, tight lines and lots of sunshine.
