Asalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatu. Alhamdulillah that I found this video! You and your journey are an inspiration to me and I relate a lot, I'm very happy you're in better health, physically and mentally, alhamdulillah. I'm a 19 year old African American Philly born and raised muslimah and every word of your story I clung to. The desire to deeply and truly understand the Quran have have a close relationship with it, speak Arabic, memorize hadith, and be a scholar has been my dream ever since I was a child. Now that I'm in my teenage years, I want to actualize that dream and study abroad. As of now I self study at home and with good authentic and fundamental books. I'm anticipating your book on quran memorization. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala reward tenfold you for your efforts, ameen. Congratulations on your baby too sister, may Allah make your child steadfast upon Islam and keen to learn their religion ameen

Ma shaa Allah sis! Your story definitely resonated with me. As of July, I made the decision to move a year ago to Misr. I haven't regretted it yet. I came to learn. However, the COVID19 has slowed my progress. Allah swt has blessed me beyond measure. It has been a beautiful journey. Everyday I am so grateful. This week I was considering returning home to the states but I keep wondering for what? After listening to your story, which there are so many similarities to my journey, you have inspire me to keep going. I also hope to start حجامة soon. You're so right about the importance of learning some of the local language before you come, especially how to count money, tell time, and give directions. I tell others this all the time. جَزَاكَ ٱللَّٰهُ‎. May Allah swt keep you safe.

As salaamu alaikum my sister. May Allah reward you well and grant you righteous children.Ameen. I too have the dream of memorizing quran but alhamdullilah there are a plethora of obstacles. Thank you for the inspiration. My journey is indeed slow yet steady. I know your other half and I always make dua for you guys. May Allah continually bestow his mercy on you .Ameen, I too moved from America to my husband's country seeking easier access to an islamic life. Well, although I'm happy that I'm here, life is different from what I imagined. As you mentioned in your video, much of your memorization was in America. Can you please share with me how you did this while working? I do have six children so, that in and of itself is a challenge but, I haven't found a rhythm that fits me. What are your thoughts? By the way I'm in a country called Burkina Faso. I looked into trying to have class with your husband but I'm sure you understand the financial challenges that we all face. Jazakallahu khairun.

Fatihah Ouedraogo Wa alaykum salaam wa rahmatullah, Baarakallahu feeki, and thank you for your kind words and duah dear sister! I know you may feel that your progress is slow, but some progress is better than no progress! I will upload a video soon to go over how I memorized while working full time and in school. I had a very strict tight schedule. As far as your rhythm and flow, do you have a teacher working with you? May Allah preserve you and bless you and your family, aameen!
