I never thought of this! I always play control or try to overwhelm with flocks of flying creatures when I play Azorius. This looks like fun. Dude, you build great decks!
first thing id do, slot in an emergence zone. lets you get one of your chonkers down on an opponents turn, or, if your feeling mean, flash out test of endurance right before your untap stap
This goes so hard, I'll be yoinking your decklist and working on it to like include cards I like, but it'll still be mostly -your- deck, love this so much.
I love the deck plan! I have a Will, Scion of Peace deck that goes for big instants and sorceries but I may swap some of cards around taking some of the recommendations you mentioned!
Very cool deck, especially doing something different with Azorius. One card that I think would fit in very well would be Soul of Eternity. It's a huge creature that can be played for very cheap in this deck. Plus with the Encore ability, you have more options in case you have nothing in your hand, and it gives your Graveyard more of a use. Really underrated card
i recently built kairi the swirling sky they does some neat things with cloning and mono blue spell slinging would be interested in seeing your take on the kamigawa dragon allthough funny story i still haven't found a kairi so my deck is currently piloted by keiga, the tide star ;-; still works just not the way i want it too
Will was certainly overlooked when compared to Rowan from that set. My Azorious commander is Kwain because Group hug works if you understand stax. Also Tainted Remedy is the reason to avoid life gain.
I would like to nominate Approach of the Second Sun as a good alt win condition given the amount of card draw you have in the deck AND for the fact that it’s lifegain is technically relevant for this build!
Wouldn't recommend Stormtide Leviathon here. It's great for evasion but... it also puts about half your creatures out of commission. About half your big creatures don't have islandwalk or flying. This also stops some of your smaller creatures such as Augury Adept and Daxos of Meletis. Nykthos Paragon probably isn't worth it here either. MOST of the life gain in here is of the 'lots of small instances' variety which will only get you a counter or two per turn with Nykthos Paragon. Noble Purpose and True Conviction work well with this but they're just two cards in the deck (and if you've managed to stick a True Conviction you're probably about to win anyway). Have you considered Extort effects? The deck CAN run Syndic of Tithes, Basilica Guards, Knight of Obligation, and Blind Obedience (and Blind Obedience is worth running anyway). Being able to potentially tack an extort effect onto EVERY spell you cast can add up very quickly.
Curse of Vitality is a nonbo, we want to tap will for discount on our turn. Curse of Vitality gains us mana discout on other people turns, better to replace it with some card draw.
not the colors, but if you have a dethrone deck like marchesa the black rose, gaining life isn't the best option! so there is a scenario where gaining life is a problem
so the obvious answer is when someone has a Plague Drone on the field that turns lifegain into life loss, but that so obviously hoses this deck so hard it's the no brainer answer. So here's my sneaky answer When you're running a Lichs Mirror Near Death Experience deck and gaining life will delay your win for a turn and lose you the game!

:') thank you!
@@edhjankcenter You're welcome!

ooooh that’s spicy

i appreciate the yoinking tbh
Thanks for this video since I'm planning to build myself a life gain will, scion of peace deck..
hell yea!
I've been wanting to make a Big Willie Style deck for so long but couldn't find out how to make it interesting enough to construct. This is awesome!
helllllll yes glad I could inspire!
I love the deck plan! I have a Will, Scion of Peace deck that goes for big instants and sorceries but I may swap some of cards around taking some of the recommendations you mentioned!
i appreciate this! and that sounds like a cool tech!
ive been looking into this deck and been thinking about adding stuff that increases life gain like Cleric class
nice!
Gerrard is mah boi for mono-white group-hug shenanigans. Whole theme is, yeah, you can have cards, but it's gonna hurt the whole time.
oooooo that's cool as hell

oooooo that's smart! thanks for the suggestion!
I have a similar build with will where I put a bunch of expensive spells I normally could never cast!
we loveeeeeee
I like to make weird builds so seeing this gave me some great ideas!
make it weird!!

ill look into that!

kwain is great!

Masterful advice, Sir!
yeah fair enough! love deckbuilding for this reason. the lists are always changing and morphing with people's suggestions. much appreciated!
Curse of Vitality is a nonbo, we want to tap will for discount on our turn. Curse of Vitality gains us mana discout on other people turns, better to replace it with some card draw.
fair enough! thank you for educating me!
Wingmate Roc 🥺♥️ people forget that guy gains so much life
great card!

yeah fair enough!
This is the precise opposite concept to my list, which only runs five or six creatures and includes lots of creature hate
omg hahahah sounds scary

woahhhhh
Why say more word when less word do trick? Azorius suck, but this don't.
