Double checking my work, and making sure everything crucial is to tq spec gives me the confidence I lacked when I first started working on my cars and bike. It made me so meticulous, I know my work is done right so I can ride/drive with confidence
Thank you! I will tell you this, no one cares more about your motorcycle than you. If you have the opportunity to turn your won wrench's then you will spot check, torque check and grease everything up to spec. I have always been hesitant of a dealer because it's just another bike to most. You got this!
Gosh dang I want to do that so bad, arent they like $800 a side? and the are the fresh chrome... sooooo good hahah. Is the brake feel a lot sharper than factory?
Thinking about rid of my ‘18 Superduke for one of these. It just sits in the corner of the garage collecting dust. I have a ‘22 SMR as well so I really only ever ride on track now. Let the wife ride the SMR around the kart track with it and she had a blast. 690 seems good enough for a novice rider and fun enough for me to hit the twisties. I appreciate your videos helping me make the decision lol
The 690 is a blast. Great for around town or a commute. They are no slouch but won’t be anything like your Superduke. Generally speaking it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast then ride a fast bike slow.
Anytime! I will try and sell you on the 690 all day, it is truly a fun machine BUT you can hit a limit wanting more and more. For example, I am debating on the new KTM 990 RC R (If they ever come out) to have more power for a larger track and to advance my skills. I would almost say keep the SuperDuke for a larger track or maybe for those insane days while a 690 is great for lower speed practice and just plain old fun. If I could, I would have (3) bikes, my 690, some sort of adventure bike like a KTM 990 Adventure from back in the day and finally a big boy sport bike to get some serious track time (not really street)
With titanium bolts the tiniest bit of copper anti seize can save you problems later on from corrosion issues. I’ve been looking at the Brembo Stylema calipre and ceramic pads for mine. That rotor looks sweet though.
For the header? It is a P3 Carbon MAX Cover for the FACTORY header, it wont work with the Tekmo or any other header - p3carbon.com/products/p3-heat-shield_ktm_690-enduro-smc_2019-2022?srsltid=AfmBOoowZj_EGTGl7I4pLQZR2QbZStu6olZys10hA526jOVX_VH6NeU5
I'm using some Bonamici "Street: aluminum lever guards, I got them from Motovation USA! - www.motovationusa.com/billet-aluminum-lever-guard-by-bonamici-LPRL_B
Seeing this gives me confidence to work on my bike. I'm alot more nervous compared to wrenching on a car since a loose nut could mean death. Respect

@connor-cw8ul I recently got a nice tq wrench from Harbor Freight

Considering the Hyper 698 has a similar front end, I fitted some Stylema Calipers to mine - reduced weight, better stopping power and looks better

@@LifeWellRidden can find a used one for about $300 from a Pani V4s- plug and play straight swap. Maybe check out the ones from a 1290
@@hypermotardking ohhhh yes that's right!! Dang I'm hunting FB marketplace now hahaha

Oh that's a great tip thank you! But the ceramic pads will make a huge differnece for the $94 price tag while the Stylema is a dream caliper haha
Braided lines, brake pads, front master cylinder. Heavy diminishing returns on $$$ after that.
Where did you get the braided lines?? Or did you have to do custom one's, I still have the factory line so this list could help!
Where did he get the exhaust manifold carbon protection? Does somebody know?
