The AI re-framing on the fly feels like a game-changing moment for these kind of cameras. Both for creators filming their own stuff but also as a b-cam that basically just runs itself. Really interesting camera.
Seriously the main thing that’s making me consider this thing. Would save a lot of time editing and I think it would increase engagement on social platforms
If its for use in studio. Nvidia does AI frame tracking. So a 30/40 series gpu could make any camera have the same function. Not an argument indoor for the zv-e1. Plus tracking until overheating is a joke...

I Wish Sony wouldn’t make so many cameras and just have a couple so that it’s accessible for content creators to have that ONE camera and Production has that ONE camera.
Just way too many options and it’s basically overwhelming. Just my opinion.

The reason I’m considering the s3 over the e1 is because I do UA-cam videos and I like to get cinematic style vlogs, every once in a while I do freelance videos. I can’t have the peace of mind taking it to a shoot thinking it might over heat
Yeah I copped the ZVE1 spent around 3400 all together for lights SIM card tripod it’s a good quality camera Fassure all I need is new lens n more experience with the camera
4:50 - Sigma lenses are not an option for this camera - Active and Dynamic stabilization do not work with lenses from other brands. The only options is 16-35 4.0 PZ as a reasonably wide and lightweight. Or for those one a budget - Sony 16-35 4.0 OSS (the Zeiss).
Active works on that 17/4 currently.
@@benjhaisch you can activate it but you have to compare it to any Sony lens to see the difference. I made recently a quick test comparing two 24mm and two 50mm lenses one sony and one from other brand - Active Stabilization with not a Sony lens is almost like the Standard one. With a Sony lens it is pretty close to the gyro stab. in Catalyst Browse.
Any Sony lens!!! And Sigma, Tamron, Samyang, ... no matter which brand if it is not a Sony the Active Stab. do not work properly and it is the same with the ZV-E1 and the new Dynamic Stab.

the biggest question that I'm asking myself from an exterior perspective (i'm not doing that much video, and certainly not on higher production levels) is that for a filmmaker that is starting out and doesn't have a budget that would allow cameras like the FX3 or the A7S3 in the picture, leaving only the cheaper options, would it be better to get an FX30 and have to deal with the crop factor, but at the same time have a camera body that can shoot all day no problem and is better suited for rigging etc, or would it be better to get the ZVE1 to get that upgraded FX3/6 sensor?
I mean for a vlogger this isn't even a question, but for a filmmaker this isn't really cut and dry
For film making the FX30 is the way to go any day of the week. It’s a much better camera than the ZVE1.
People really get too hung up on sensor size. Super 35 is the standard in high end cinema.
The full frame obsession is really mostly an insecurity among amateurs and beginners.

the zve1 is popular in the automotive space. we call it the poor mans fx3 especially with how cheap u can buy them now used.
it's crazy how good it is for the price.

How are the photos? There have been plenty of mega pixel comparisons and mega pixel discussions for all brands of cameras so 12MP is adequate for most work, but how does this camera standout when comparing dynamic range and other features related to photography?
I just wouldn’t use this for photography unless you had to for static subjects. It doesn’t have a mechanical shutter, so you’ll inherently end up with some rolling shutter issues at times.
For a beginner would u suggest this or fx30

Thank you so much for making this video, it literally answered all my questions ❤lol all the cameras mentioned in this video were the cameras that I was looking at! As a content creator and short film editor, the ZV-E1 will be a perfect fit for me since I won’t be recording for very long periods..so I won’t ever be dealing with the overheating issue. Subscribed!
Would you recommend the A7SIII or the FX3? I know they were not very different when released, but now firmware has separated the two.
I love the FX3, but it really depends on your needs. The XLR top handle is great if you need it, but if not, the A7SIII is still amazing.
@@benjhaisch Do you know if there is a difference in the weather sealing of these two cameras? I feel like the fan ports on the FX3 may be a weak spot.

a 35/1.8 would be the best budget option!

@@benjhaisch some say it has, some say it was ai trained algorithm... I think we will know that in a year or two when somebody from a rental company open it and compare the main board with the one in the other models :) My guess is that there is no AI processor ;).
