@Kellyannk308 It was called Screened Out: Gay Images In Film on Turner Classic Movies in June 2007. Screened Out: Gay Images in Film was written by Richard Barrios who was Robert Osborne's cohost on Monday's and Wednesday's to introduce the films in June 2007.
Homework? Yikes, what are they asking you to do with the film? I've added a link to the item description for my blog on classic films. The link will take you to a short piece of writing on the film and give a bit of background. But make sure you think about the film yourself and don't copy or rely on the link!!! :)
They didn't have our modern concept of sexual orientation. The assumption was that absolutely everyone was straight, and if you parted from that it was just a choice, or something was wrong with you. They would have never shown a gay lifestyle back then because it didn't exist in the public mind. There were just effete men who, unless toughened up, might become further "confused."
Haha! The Western Doorbell ring technique was fabulous!

Pee-Wee Herman prototype?
Funny
This is a good film, I just don’t understand how people consider it “gay”…
It was implied that he was or at least might have been. Back then if you weren't "man enough" you were considered gay. We've evolved a lot since then.

@@CheeseBae Sad how modern people consider this man “gay” just because he’s different. I think that’s what I’m trying to say.
@@kate4828he’s very obviously queer coded
@@kate4828 Why is that sad?
