let me rephrase that,Joe just provided entertainment for a lot of music get togethers. What every one else did was on their own, but I have had plenty of good times listening to Joe sing. Love ya Joe, Opal Lee
@chodgey1 You're truly blessed to have known the Isaacs. Pray for my people, their people, as the true peace that can come to Israel is the Gospel of Yeshua!
I remember Joe Isaacs. I lived on Red Lick RD. I've gotten drunk with Joe Isaacs many a times. We used to party on a farm just across the creek just down from my trailer on Red Lick Rd. Love to you Joe!!!!!! Signed Opal(you should know who this is). You used to sing me a song every year on my birthday. Sure do miss that. Love ya & miss ya. Am living in Arkansas now
This is a very late reply lol, but they were divorced in 1998. Lilly wrote a book on her life called You Don’t Cry Out Loud. It’s a great book, and I’d encourage you to check it out!
Gotta be honest, I don’t think that was a honorable interview with such a patriarch. That interview, especially the sound quality and the fact that we don’t often get to hear from Joe, simply did not give that great man much justice, in my opinion. Appreciate your music Joe Isaacs!
I hate it when a person just has to bring up something someone did 20, 30, 40 years ago, like it should be on their record FOREVER, & they can never live it down or be forgiven! How about you tell us yours from that same year? Or any year since? Didn't you ever do anything you're ashamed of? If God buries our sins as far as the east is from the west, and HE'S HOLY, then WHY can't we are so guilty & imperfect ourselves leave them buried too?
Joe is one of the greats - and one of the most under-rated pickers in traditional bluegrass.
Nicely done, Joe!!
Just saw him last night live on facebook with his kids and lilly. He still sounds amazing.
Joe is one of Bluegrass Gospels greats. Picker, singer and songwriter.
Joe is a great singer and musician And a great person.
I had the privelige of being his neibor. I got to travel with him when I was around 4 and 5.
I love you cousin Joe and prayers for Vester Alexander . You all are my heart ❤️

and then Sonja and Ben divorced.. I noticed that when he was in the band they dressed a little better too :)
Sonya and Ben are siblings. Sonya was married once before marrying Jimmy.
What?
my dad tought him how to play music
He looks uneasy doing this interview.
He left and married someone else. Pretty sad
He left? He was single for 12 years after his divorce
