Hey Nathan! Thanks so much for visiting the channel. So glad to have you.
Hi everyone thanks for stopping by the channel. We had a blast this week up at Gold Mountain. The conditions have changed a lot over the years. Hope you like this 2021 video update on the current conditions
5:29 answered a question I was gonna write. I was thinking it looked like his front wasn't engaged at all or that he had it in 2wd lol
We love giving Joey a hard time. Such a good guy. He was off of his game and didn’t make sure that he was ready for the rocks. But he got it together.
I live about 25 miles north of Fairbanks Alaska in the foothills of the white mountains. We got a ton of snow this year. My gladiator does pretty well - 2 inch mopar lift with 35 inch KO2s.
I live local in Moreno Valley. New to jeep offroading. Ive been building a Jeep Gladiator. You guys seem like a great group. I would love to go out on the trail with you guys!
Look at the Skidmark 4x4 skid. It has antenna mounts and jack mounts and slides quite a bit under the hitch.
Gladiator on 35s really surprised me... hung in there ! Joey seemed a little heavy in the pedal and his tires didn't do him any favors.... looked like a lot of fun, great video !
We did have a great time on this trip. And the Gladiator on 35s surprises everyone every time we go out. In this video I unfairly picked on Joey and his missteps along the way. He’s one hell of a wheeler.
What trim was Jonathan's gladiator?
Sport
@@TrailAdventuresTV no lockers on Jonathon's rig?
No sir.
I'm glad you like those fox shocks, because I was not pleased. Once the dealer did the 2.5 inch mopar lift, and 37 inch tires - it drove terribly. I ended up getting a whole new suspension with King Shocks and the ride is night and day.
I would’ve reached out to Fox to get to the bottom of that situation. I have talk to dozens of people with the Fox factory team race shocks. I haven’t heard any complaints. That being said, there is no doubt King makes a great shock. Glad that you found something you’re happy with.
@@TrailAdventuresTV I just noticed in another video that you are not running the stock shocks. I had the stock shocks. They were Jeep's stock Fox Racing shocks. I shouldn't judge Fox because of it - they built them to Mopar's spec.
Looks like 35’s were the sweet spot 👍 He’s an awesome driver
This trail looks epic! Thanks for taking us along!
Beautiful, super beautiful. Love seeing both of you driving the jeeps over the Rocky terrain. Wasn't sure how to spell Krystal but she did very well. She is definitely not afraid to put the hammer down and send it. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much!
Glad to have found your channel, I'm now a subscriber.
I have a 21 gladiator rubicon with a 2" mopar lift on 35's and a hand full of other suspension mods but nothing crazy at all. I live just outside of Reno Nevada and would love to wheel with y'all if you find yourselves out this way.
Thanks for the peaceful clean content.
Thank you. It’s an honor and a privilege to have you as a subscriber. We have a lot more content coming soon and if we ever do find ourselves in your local area. We would be happy to meet up and enjoy some Nevada adventures!
Nice!! Couples who wheel together stay together 😅.
I think it’s awesome she has her own rig and wheels it too
Thank you so much for visiting the channel. We definitely agree. We hope that you’ll come back and visit to enjoy some more of our trail adventures!
Badass Gladiator build! Can't wait to see more adventures!
Thank you Dixie Overland. Great to have you guys as part of our community.
Had such a great time with you all on Sunday!
Hey my friend. We did too. Can’t wait till we can all hang out again. We will shoot you the details on the camping trip to Anza Borrego in March.
As a new Gladiator owner, I thoroughly enjoyed this video!
Hi Gordon. Thanks for visiting the channel. Hopefully you’ll consider subscribing. As we bring you more gladiator and content on the future. If you love the outdoors, exploring and camping. This is the place for you. All the best David and Crystal👍🏻🇺🇸
@@TrailAdventuresTV Oh yea, I totally subscribed. Looking forward to more great content.
Great video, love the JT - sub'd for more! 👍 Had to chuckle at the rookie with the zillion dollar Rebel build not locking the hubs. Happens to the best of us 😆.
As I watched him trying the first time I thought something was off. I was like"how are the fronts not locked? And they tires look way too firm! "lol
Looks like Joey needs to lock his hubs!
Hi Finn. You are absolutely right. My dry sense of humor,, I was actually making fun of Joey the whole time. He was having an off day. Between his locking hubs and locking differential‘s, not to mention that he hadn’t been wheeling for a while. He was having some minor difficulties. This just added to the excitement. Man, we all had a fun day!
Thanks for visiting the channel.
Awesome Video guys!! Crystal, great job on the rocks, practice makes perfect! Love the commentating and I love the way Crystal's and your Rigs are coming together, glad to be of help with some of Crystal's Accessories!! I'm ready for the next video!!
Hey brother. Good to hear from you. We had a blast. We will be going to Moab in April. But not until the last weekend. We had some personal issues to take care of here with work. I should be reaching out to you very soon for a winch and belly pans for the gladiator. You guys have been an awesome resource. We appreciate all the support. And we will do our best to keep the content coming.
@@TrailAdventuresTV Well Guess what, That may just work out, we arrive in Moab On the 28th and will be there until the 3rd
Then it will definitely work. We hope we cross paths. Send us an email with your contact info so we can reach out to you.
@@TrailAdventuresTV I will shoot Crystal my contact Info

Great Run!!! New Subscriber... Have to put Big Bear on my list! Thanks....
Thanks for visiting the channel. Thank you for being a part of our community. Bring me more content soon.
Looking good Dave! Nice video
Thanks George. Your support means a lot.
Just found your channel and loved watching the Gladiators jeep it up! I ordered mine and hopefully be here the end of March!!! Cant wait! Do you use some sort of gimbal for your footage in the Jeep? New subscriber here and cheers from Colorado!
Hi CB Outdoors. Thank you so much for the kind words. Actually I just used the iPhone on a dash mount for most of this footage. And it came out pretty good. You are going to be so happy with your new Gladiator. They are very capable machines for sure. We will be in Colorado in April and then over to Moab in early May. Hopefully our paths may cross. All the best from Southern California.
is Joey in 2WD?
In snow, even with ABS i feather my brakes on and off to slow and stop
Hi Bob thanks for visiting the channel. Hopefully you’ll subscribe. Sounds like you live in an area of beautiful country.
These Gladiators do pretty well in the snow. I hope you enjoy some of our Gladiator content. Stay tuned for more.
Awesome trail ! And nice ride ! My gladiator is almost identical to yours, same color. Coming from a built 2019 Silverado trail boss I am loving my gladiator 👍👍 🐐
That Silverado is great on the trail as well. But the gladiator is a tremendous platform and affords you many options when it comes to Trail difficulty. Thank you for visiting the channel and the comment.
Happy trails. Make more great memories and always enjoy the adventure.
David and Crystal
@@TrailAdventuresTV welcome, yes it was . I completed almost every trail on the Daniel Boone back country byway in Kentucky with it. The flexibility in the suspension of a Jeep or gladiator to help keep traction where it’s needed is almost untouchable. I installed a 3.5” Clayton off road lift and 37’s and it’s amazing.
Did Jonathan have lockers? On his Gladiator? I have the High Altitude with a 3" mopar lift and 35's curious if even possible to take out like this
my name is jorge btw Im from so cal (Santa Clarita Valley) very near to big bear. I love your videos! im new to off roading just got my jeep gladiator and would love to meet some people who can help me into getting started. are there forums or groups that you recommend?
Welcome aboard! I'm sure you can find a lot of off-road groups on Facebook! Good luck.
Hey there. Great job. I didn’t see it in your description. Do you have a link to or the name of the slider in your hitch?
Factory, Rubicon sliders.
@@TrailAdventuresTV nah. I’m talking about the one you have in your hitch in the rear to help with the dragging of the rear end.

So I must have missed why you aren't driving your ZR2 anymore.....please let me know????
Hi. Thanks for asking. The ZR2 had approximately 40,000 off-road miles. It was out of warranty and time to send it down the road while I could still get a good value for it.
FIRST!!! Can't wait to enjoy another episode!!
This was a sick episode. You got to come up to the mountains with us next time Blake.
Black Jeep was in 2WD lol
Your buddy needs to air down to 15psi. I made it in a Glad on 35s
After finishing the video airing down makes it like butter
Please bring back the zr2
How are you guys. Thanks so much for visiting the channel. Now it’s time for you guys to bring the ZR2 content. I’m still a big fan of the platform. I switched over to the Jeep Gladiator and couldn’t be happier. Hope you all are doing well.
@@TrailAdventuresTV I will do my best; thank you for the encouragement and support. We will always support your channel.
Why am I not surprised that it was Joey sliding sideways?
He always keeps it exciting!
Looks like your friend with 40s and dana 60s forgot to put his truck in 4wd, his front tires aren’t spinning.
Yes that what it was
After having the zr2 and the gladiator, if you had to pick, which one would you choose for an everyday/adventure vehicle. I currently have a zr2 but the gladiators are looking better and better to me
Brian when I got to ZR2 it was the only vehicle with dual lockers. Once the Gladiator came out, there was no way I was going to stay with the ZR2. The Gladiator has been amazing and I couldn’t be happier. There’s much more vendor support. And you’re not going to have to cut up your fenders just to fit larger tires. Make the switch.
Thank you I really appreciate the honesty
Did he sell his ZR2?
Yo its Joey D
Great video, can I ask about the wheel set up on your gladiator? What brand are those? Nice looking wheel.
DIRTY LIFE DT-1 9303 SERIES WHEEL, 17"X9", 5X5 BOLT PATTERN, 3.5" BACK SPACING Gun Metal Gray. Milestar 38” tires Patagonias
@@TrailAdventuresTV thanks for the reply! Is that the same setup on your wife’s rig? I’m subbing.
Yes it is. We are very happy with them.
@@TrailAdventuresTV thank U so much for your time. I’m running the Pro Comp series 60 Hammer and the poke is a little more than I like. I think your offset/backspace is a little better.
The rounded profile of the Patagonia gives a little more space in when the tires are fully stuffed. For the JL. The JT doesn’t have any problems. Bump stops are set perfectly to help avoid any type of rubbing.
The gladiator on 35s does it have lockers?
No. Jonathan is just an awesome driver who knows how to pick a good line.
Quick question. Do you still have your ZR2?
Yes sir. I sold the ZR2. It was out of warranty, shocks were failing left and right. It had 45,000 miles. Super happy with the JEEP Gladiator platform. Suits us just fine. Thank you for visiting the channel. Hope that you’ll continue to follow some of our adventures.
@@TrailAdventuresTV Great! I have a 2017 ZR2 and I was looking into the Gladiator too. It's more pricier but something to look into!!!
Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. You will be able to build it as mild or wild as you want. There is plenty of aftermarket support for this vehicle. And the articulation is nuts. I’m going to post a video soon on the high speed handling characteristics of the gladiator off-road pretty soon. So stay tune for that.
You have probably been asked a lot already but how is the Gladiator compared to the ZR2?
Hi, Grant hope all is well buddy. When I got the ZR2 it was the only show in town with both front and rear lockers. I had to do a lot of work and cutting just to fit 35"s. The Gladiator is hands down the best midsize truck on the market bar-nun. There is more vendor support and they can take a beating. If something does break. It can be sent overnight from anywhere. and the flex on this thing is unreal! Be well, my friend. **
@@TrailAdventuresTV thanks for the info. Love the look of the ZR2 but hard to put bigger tires etc on it. Gladiator a little too long for me that is why I went with a Wrangler missing a truck bed though
Why would anyone have King racing shocks on a JK rock crawler?
I can only assume that you’re referring to Joeys JK with the KING’s. Joey‘s JEEP has been built for a wide range of wheeling. The shocks are valved specifically for high-speed desert applications and they function just fine on the rocks as well. I wouldn’t classify his jeep as a rock crawler. Most rock crawlers are running 42 inch tires and larger now. I think he’s built a great all-around rig.
Would you remember what kind of gladiator Jonathan has? I have a California edition and I want to know if mine is capable to do this stuff with no sway bar disconnect or tire locks?
Hello Jorge. Thank you for visiting the channel.
Jonathan has a jeep gladiator sport with a 2 inch lift and 35 inch tires. No lockers. However, I do not recommend for someone who is a new adventure to attempt Gold Mountain. Unless you’re with a very skilled navigator.
@@TrailAdventuresTV thanks for the info. It’s good to know that even the lower trims from a rubicon or Mojave can handle these types of adventures. Thanks.
@@TrailAdventuresTV biggest concern was feeling like I made a mistake in not getting a Mojave or rubicon trim. Nice to know that I can still experience something like this one day
No more Zr2 I see.
Yes, sorry. But the truck was out of warranty and it was time to send it down the road. I couldn’t be happier with the gladiators performance and it’s abilities off road.
@@TrailAdventuresTV I got rid of my zr2 diesel a few months back for a widebody challenger in smoke show. I missing having a truck and I am taking delivery of my gladiator rubicon tomorrow lol. I look forward to more content.
That challenger is a bad ass machine. And you’re going to love the flex and capability of that gladiator. Do you have the best of both worlds. I’m jealous! Enjoy my friend. Thanks for being a part of the channel
Would a mojave on 33s make it up the trail? Any trails you recommend for that set up?
I would say no. You really need front lockers.
Coo thx. Any trail you’d recommend?
@@jamesgonzalez1738 Try Johnson Valley and Mojave Trail! We have a new video coming soon on both locations.
That first jeep tho. 40 grand or more on upgrades. 🤦🏻♂️. With all due respect, i’ve seen people cleared that gate keeper on sport models with 33’s and rubicon take offs. That rig should’ve rolled on those rocks as if they were pebbles. Just my 2c’s.
