Started singing, everyone knows it's him. #LeeHongKi #firstworldproblems His voice is too distinct and awesome. I'll definitely recognize it anywhere unless he purposely sings off pitch. And I saw him live twice.. his voice is always consistently awesome LIVE.
In my very honest opinion, this kind of show/competition is not for someone like our Hongstar. He is the only one in KPop who has such unique (definitely) distinguishable voice and tone, in which no other singer has (nor tht I can think of someone w/ similar singing style). So yeah, I'm not surprised if they figured him out the very first moment he sang (nor that I find it weird they didn't picked him). LOL
+Prima Nora IKR. Same goes for Ailee. This kind of show doesn't do judgement/fair to other contestant when these two join, because there's no other singer like them in KPop scene who possess such awesome voice and singing technique.
+Prima Nora hong ki is talented dude,.he can comically change his voice to be not recognized,.and stay in the show..but let just say hongki doesn't give a f**k about this competition,..so for him to eliminate early,..he sing his favorite genre to show case his voice,..this is not for him.
They don't tell you ahead of time that he'll be on te show cause they can't. The contestants can't be revealed unless they lose. The winners are never revealed. Probably because the show will continue to use them later on.

I mean, if you're going to pair two great singers, don't waste that opportunity! Too bad they didn't separate them to pair with the others, whom they would easily beat, but I guess they wanted to be fair by not matching seasoned singers with non-singers. Guess you roll the dice with being on the show so early on; he was in the second group of contestants after all (not counting pilot). I'm pretty sure he lost the 3 vote margin by "changing his style" by choosing to be stiff. I would kill for a duet between him and Sandeul. But I'm definitely loving the show so far. Some of the non-pro singers are freakin' impressive. And the masks!!! They get so incredibly creative as the episodes go on. Whoever is making those masks must be having so much fun!
Actually confused why they didn't go head to head in a duet. All the other Round 1 battles, I've watched have them all doing duets, including Episode 1. Why did they change the format for Episode 3? In Ep 3, it's awkward to see the other contestant standing still lol. They also do pair professional singers with non-pro singers in other episodes.
hongki's voice is very unique, once you've heard his voice you can easily depict that he is the one who's singing in that show. He brought me to tears, his singing voice is very striking that it can move any heart. Every emotions of the song was clearly delivered. You're a great singer Hongki ^--^

Hongki there's no disguising that voice. He's way too unique there's no other Korean voice which even remotely sounds the same. From the first note the audience is just like 'Oh Hongki's singing' 'yep definitely hongki'. Also I think it's 2AM Changmin as well. The members of 2am have distinct voices as well...but not as much as Hongki ^^

For those wondering about the show's concept, they actually vote for who they believe the best performance is. However, I believe that in some cases where the singer is too recognizable, even if they do an amazing job like in this case, they won't actually vote for them because they know they are sending so-and-so to the next round. Therefore they would tend to choose the one who they are unsure of because it keeps the mystery of who's behind the mask. Hong Ki's competition sang really well too, so it was tough, but the audience and judges seemed less sure about who it was. Therefore, for the sake of the show, it's better to send that person on. Winners are never revealed. This could be for the purpose of future episodes. My family thinks Hong Ki's competition was 2AM's Chang Min as he sounded like and moved like Chang Min (we watch a lot of Immortal Songs 2), except that it sounded like he changed his style of singing a bit.

Well, that seems unfair. Some singers like Hongki not only can sing well, but also have a special voice that makes them memorable. It's the kind of singers I like the most. You could hit high notes but if your voices sounds like others it has no real appeal (you could be easy replaced) but if your voice is unique that's a different story
Well this is not true at all. There have been a lot of very known & recognizable voices who have won & been voted through. Hongki lost by only 3 votes but he still lost. Quit making excuses, the other guys performance was very well received which is why he won

Hongki there's no disguising that voice. He's way too unique there's no other Korean voice which even remotely sounds the same. From the first note the audience is just like 'Oh Hongki's singing' 'yep definitely hongki'. Also I think it's 2AM Changmin as well. The members of 2am have distinct voices as well...but not as much as Hongki ^^

For those wondering about the show's concept, they actually vote for who they believe the best performance is. However, I believe that in some cases where the singer is too recognizable, even if they do an amazing job like in this case, they won't actually vote for them because they know they are sending so-and-so to the next round. Therefore they would tend to choose the one who they are unsure of because it keeps the mystery of who's behind the mask. Hong Ki's competition sang really well too, so it was tough, but the audience and judges seemed less sure about who it was. Therefore, for the sake of the show, it's better to send that person on. Winners are never revealed. This could be for the purpose of future episodes.
My family thinks Hong Ki's competition was 2AM's Chang Min as he sounded like and moved like Chang Min (we watch a lot of Immortal Songs 2), except that it sounded like he changed his style of singing a bit.

Well, that seems unfair. Some singers like Hongki not only can sing well, but also have a special voice that makes them memorable. It's the kind of singers I like the most. You could hit high notes but if your voices sounds like others it has no real appeal (you could be easy replaced) but if your voice is unique that's a different story

Well this is not true at all. There have been a lot of very known & recognizable voices who have won & been voted through. Hongki lost by only 3 votes but he still lost. Quit making excuses, the other guys performance was very well received which is why he won
one of the few great vocalist of Kpop.
