There is something about older "things" that makes you think about the years gone by..Im not some antique kind of guy or collector of anything old, but I sure appreciate things from the past. Looking where we're at and where we came from is interesting. Good looking old knife and older knife..AND surprised the sheath was so intact. Have a good night BigJ!

@bigjsknives I think we talked about this before there is a guy on Ebay selling the same book warthogg has The knife makers that went west, he's selling it for a hundred and fifty bucks and has multiple copys of it. I want it bad but can't swing it right now. But anyway, not sure.If it covers that far back

Awesome gift from Tom! I remember that one very well under the J.C. Higgins name. Western had a huge contract with them. If you haven’t check them out, great pieces to add to your Western collection.

Most Excellent! The regional availability is interesting. Here in the PNW Westerns were very common. Even today there is a good chance that those of us that are retirement age+ that still hunt and fish have at least one Western in our collections with some memories attached to it.

Thanks very much for checking it out! In a small rural community in WV we didn’t have much of a selection at all. Had 1 store in the county that sold knives and it was mostly Case. Old Timer was what we could grab as well if we would drive into town in another county and hit up sears or K mart.

That's an awesome knife. If it was a 1947 it would be 77 years old. That would be the same age as my dad and our John deere B
