Sorry, but most of the USB to 3.5mm are round opening shape. You could go with a threaded 3.5mm Port drilled into a non used slot to 3.5mm male, and behind the radio go with USB to 3.5mm port. Or, just use a USB to 3.5mm adapter with the port you already have.
@@justbehandy my aftermarket pioneer stereo comes with an aux input already but I'd like to clean it up and do it like the USB data port but instead it would be 3.5mm Jack. I'll keep looking for one and I'll update if I find something that works. Thanks.
No, I just went along the seal and the cover, pushing the wire in with a plastic trim tool while lifting the cover a small amount with another trim tool.
@@justbehandy Was this a difficult install? Do you think the new model you listed would fit a standard 2007 model highlander? Can't find any info on that
@@ryanmadden5936 Yes, the new model is the same fit, and should work. It was an easy installation, as the harness was proper. Check out the installation video for yourself to gauge the difficulty level. I did not show the backup camera hookup, as there are wireless options. Hope that helps.
I'm ready to do a stereo upgrade as well. Is it still performing well and reliably? I'm always scared of the off brand stuff but this looks great, especially the camera inputs and resolution
How’s the camera holding up? Any issues with any water leaking in where you mounted the backup camera? There doesn’t seem to be a good spot to mount the cameras on these 1st gens. I’m trying to think of a good spot to mount
Still have it, but hanging on to it incase I want to sell the Highlander and the new buyer isn't going to value the Android radio. Thanks for checking.
The harness I received fit for the radio/Audio portion. I still had to wire the video and cameras. No extra harness on the 2005 Highlander Base model. You will need a harness for the JBL unit. Hope that helps.
I can put a link for one, but the unit worked well with a low cost $15 blue tooth version for Android. The one I used: CREACLE® CR100 Mini Bluetooth OBD2 OBDII EOBD Diagnostic Scanner Adapter V1.5 Automotive Check Engine Light Code Reader for Android
I clicked the link and it doesn't mention Highlander compatibility, just RAV4, Corolla etc. Just want to confirm that this will fit the 1st gen Highlander?
Tia, thank you for reaching out to me. In the description I have a link to this radio and Amazon takes you to the latest version. This is the closest plug and play for base Toyota unit that fits Highlander 2004 to 2007. Hope that helps.
I love that you show a hint of you being man of God on your videos. God bless!

Oh nice! I just inherited an '03, V6 4WD with 40k mi. Keepper. So I was thinking of doing this. Thank you.
Enjoy
Thanks for the data port link.
No problem!
@@justbehandy any idea if they sell a similar port for the other slot but in 3.5mm aux input? That would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Great Job man... I have Toyota Highlander 2002 model, so I need to upgrade my loving car.
Thank you Sir ~
You can do it!
I just bought one how many miles does yours have? Mine has 158k
@@dg8676 mine has 195k, just did the water pump, timing belt, tensioner and pulley, and thermostat. Preventative maintenance.
Nicely done. Thank you for this awesome video.
Thank you for the kind words
did you have to remove the B and C pillar covers to be able to fish the backup camera wire?
No, I just went along the seal and the cover, pushing the wire in with a plastic trim tool while lifting the cover a small amount with another trim tool.
Thank you it was very helpful. I have a 2005 Highlander and considering getting a stereo.
Thank you for taking the time to give me feedback. Really appreciate it.

It is working well, I had a bad license plate bulb cover that was cracked. Drilled through it a d silicone sealed the camera to it.
Please see details for link to USB port

did the harness you received with the unit fit your 2005 highlander? or did you need to buy another harness to fit your specific vehicle?

Yes, it works with base model radio, not the Bose system on the Highlander.
Did you get a dash kit? Or still stock?
Nice video by the way.
Thank for the nice comments, and taking time to reach out to me. The radio fits properly in the the opening, no need for a dash kit. Hope that helps.
