Why's no one talking about how upbeat and positive Matt is given how dissapointing it was that the guys were not home to get their special delivery from the one and only!! Ha! Merry Christmas, Matt!
but at the very end the footage was under exposed and hadn't had any noise reduction applied to it. was full of grain and colour artifacts jumping about on his face an coat.
That drive up through Glencoe towards Fort William is absolutely stunning on a nice day. I’ve got seriously lucky in that the past few times I’ve been up that way it’s been clear. The scenery is breathtaking. Anyone who says the Scottish Highlands aren’t one of the most beautiful places on the planet is wrong. All the best Matt and team, looking forward to what 2024 brings!
@@HighPeakAutos Yes please do, it's the only part of your vids I can't bring myself to look forward to, it also gets used elsewhere and in those cases I don't get lead into wanting a car I would have never otherwise looked at!! Merry xmas everyone!
I’ve massively overspent on this trip 😂. Good on you Matt, who else would test out a 17 year old Range Rover Vogue all the way to Scotland at an average 24MPG
God Scotland is beautiful. That scenery was absolutely stunning. The L322 is looking good too. For me, the L322 is peak Range Rover. It's aging rather nicely, and it still looks like a really expensive, premium car. Definitely a keeper, this one. The colour is glorious. Merry Christmas Matt. Thank you for all the awesome videos, and may 2024 bring you everything you wish for.
Been to Scotland from Lincolnshire in my L322 and it did it brilliantly, what a wonderful vehicle for driving around the beautiful Scot countryside. It was Matt’s fault that I bought it, ‘buy the car you want and repair it when required’ The fuel was 32 mpg averaged, I was pleased with that. I only use premium diesel.
I’ve been to a lot of nice countries and I can say, without a moments hesitation, Scotland is as stunning as any of them for scenery. Especially the higher up you go. Isle of Skye makes your jaw drop. If you get nice weather, there’s nowhere like it. White sand and turquoise water. Stunning.
Merry Christmas Matt & Team. Been following you for ages now. Never missed an upload. You definitely deserve all you've gained. Here's to a prosperous 2024. PS: Love the new intro 👍
Great video, yet again. Love that car! 😍😍😍 Funny story, I ended up buying a Freelander 2, HSE model having watched you do a review on one about 2 years ago. Absolutely love it, so cheers for that! 🙌 The first thing I bought for the car, a lovely tartan throw for the back seat. You showing off the tartan number in the boot killed me 🤣🤣🤣 We really are that predictable! 🙈🙈🤣

This is the kind of "off the whim" travel I will be doing when I get my L322! Fantastic video as usual and merry Christmas Matt. I hope 2024 will bring joy, love, happiness, good health and prosperity for us all. Have a good one!
We drove over our 3.6 L322 over 1200 miles across Europe to export it a few months ago. Despite having a sticking turbo actuator, it got there without any break downs and achieved 33MPG. Don't know whether I love it or hate it.
That 3.6 Tdv8 was the best engine in the L322. I’d say better than the 4.4 diesel. What an absolute peach it is ! Actuator stick in most diesels, I Had a sticking actuator on the new BMW diesel lump in my 71 reg under 18months old. Under Warranty work and not and not an issue again before i sold it. In fact in the 7 L322’s I had, the only issue was a failed suspension compressor. Great cars.
Radio problem could be water getting into the near side area of the boot where all the audio, bluetooth and nav equipment lives. Common problem with L322's, friend has a 2005 4.2 Supercharged and the water leak has damaged everything in that area beyond repair. Also very expensive to fix!
I'd like to thank you for another year of excellence as well! You're still my favorite youtube channel, ahead of both Doug DeMuro and Hoovie's Garage. Looking forward to more quality entertainment in the new year! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Oh, and the tartan blanket is top notch! 😅
Matt, if you’re not happy with night driving, I used to HGV1, so driving any conditions, biggest improvement was some yellow night driving glasses. Try them, night, snow, fog, rain, the safer it makes your driving is amazing.

What a great video. Your production values are top tier now. You are correct, that part of Scotland is truly stunning. I would really love an L322 Range Rover. It is though, the kind of car the you must buy with your eyes wide open. If i am honest with myself, i just do not have the disposable income to run one. Buying it is one thing, maintaining and repairing it is another.

I live in Dumfries just along the A75 from Gretna but in a previous life my patch was the Highlands of Scotland and at one point I covered Argyle up to Fort William and surrounding area. Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine are stunningly beautiful and I can be found most sunny summer weekends cycling in the area. The other side of the Loch from where you were filming is known as the Trossachs. On a good day you cannot find anywhere more beautiful. 9:42

Hi Matt, I love that range rover very classy , great new intro very professional production as usual , keep those videos coming , best wishes and lots of luck to you and your family all the team in 2024 👍
Soooo, to be clear… you drove 600 miles and you didn’t think to check if they were going to be in when you got there? This “plan” has Matt written all over it… and I’m here for this! 😂 Merry Christmas and keep up the good work.
Sounds like it’s the usual Amp fault! But do check the cables in the left hand rear cubby where the ice is kept! If any cables have got wet they will corrode and go white, dry and rub with a little wire brush! Just pull one cable out at a time and check! The face lifted L322 tends not too suffer from water ingress as much as the first L322’s do! I have a facelift 2006 l322 TD6, 2004 TD6 and 2004 4.4 V8 pre facelifts 😊
Ouch, I just did the currency conversion 1 pound super is 3.15 dollars Canadian as of today super is $1.65 litre . I also have problems with my key fob working sporadically . Watch lowering the windows during rain as the water wrecks the window switches ! During the week it likes a trickle charger put on it. Merry Christmas Matt.
What a great video. I absolutely love those roads through to the Highlands. I took my Mercedes C250 Coupe up to Aviemore a couple of years ago. We went for a day out to Balmoral and as we were leaving we decided to turn left instead of right, effectively going back an alternative route. The weather was beautiful and, after a 190 mile detour, through some absolutely incredible roads, we arrived back in Aviemore. Brilliant drive!!! Hope you have all had a great Christmas and all the very best for the new year Matt.
Fabulous video, a long way to travel with no answer at the door, but I have driven that way many times over, truly stunning scenery ( when the weather is favourable ) wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year, and every success for the future!
In 2019 we took our MX5 up to Scotland and did pretty much the same trip - got a B&B on Loch Lomond side, and did a few drives from there, including Fort William. We were massively lucky with the weather, roof down all the time. I've done loads of trips all around Scotland, right up to Durness and the Orkney Isles, but that MX5 trip was something else.
Check the amplifier in the boot Matt, usually NSR side compartment, it may have gotten damp either inside it or on the connections externally. The 322 did suffer from water ingress through the bonded rear side Windows, e39 5 series BMW’s also suffered the same problem. The head unit in the dash doesn’t give sound output at all. 322’s are also bad for the instrument clusters failing internally too, (main can bus hub) which causes random electrical gremlins, indicators not working, wipers etc, etc.
Nice one Matt and Team, sold my L405 to go back to a 322 this year. Never looked back, bought it cheap and spent 5k on getting it mint. It's a keeper and a second car for me along side my S Class. It's not had a tow bar, and it's not chipped. As it's a TD6 they are two important considerations with the GM auto box already being at max torque ability in these models. Everything now works, the seats are mint, even the off road venture cam works. It's java black with sand leather and black piping. People think I'm mad but I love it. Drove it to an establishment of some standing earlier this week and it still cuts the ice, just like my shadow 2 does. Keep the vid's coming and all the best for 24.
I love watching this channel and Matt makes me feel warm and fuzzy - it’s the same feeling I used to get when Original Top Gear and even the May/Clarkson/Hammond years gave me. The best is you go from this type of video, with amazing production to a Perodua Kelisa (or something) and they both make fantastic viewing. Keep it up and best wishes for an even brighter 2024!! 🙏
Merry Christmas, Matt. Just a thought, not sure if you’ve downed one previously, and I know you keep some of the mishap content in the vids, but I bet you have some very funny blooper content. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that this would be enjoyed by most of your subscribers. Thanks for all the entertainment this year, wish you and all at HPA a happy and prosperous 2024.
I'm from Portugal and I had several Land Rovers in the past 20 years, but my favorite ones are Range Rovers. I had two P38 and two L322, the last one sold 3 years ago, which I regret all the time. Now I'm looking to buy another Range Rover because they are part of me and also the most beautiful car you can buy. At present I also have a Freelander 2 which has been a very good car.
The radio issue - I had the same on a jaguar XF. It was the Bluetooth module (on the jag it was under the passenger seat). Spraying the circuit board with electrical contact spray fixed it completely…👍
Just doing a similar 600 ish round trip to North York’s from West Berkshire in my 70K 2012 L322 which I bought this year when my 165K Jaguar S type R finally needed new sills … after re-watching this channel and Harry’s garage on repeat for a while. Couldn’t be happier ☺🎄❄ Have to say that a quick addition of a bit of Redex seems to have done wonders in an experiment with cheap Sainsbury’s fuel on this trip - awaiting the final result, but it seems to have done what it says on the tin. Thank you High Peak for giving me the impetus to buy this imperious beast - couldn’t be happier … so much so that a 2018 L495 V8 supercharged is next on the menu before too long. This car has been used on and off road, full off wood in the rear and towing horse boxes and wood splitters. Like this channel says - the RR is the car that is just better at … everything 😎 Thank you High Peak 👍👍
Very relevant to myself atm, up in Scotland for christmas, staying near Loch Lomond and driving out visiting castles/Stirling/Edinburgh. Love Scotland.
Range Rover L322's are just the best way to travel. Just completed a 10day holiday in mine, a round trip through Scandinavia. 2,500miles and 30 to the gallon whats not to like. The snow in Norway was fun.
This is exactly the weather I expected when I visited Scotland in April. However, it was clear blue skies everyday and it peaked at 20 degrees. It was stunning, especially Glencoe!
The weather in Scotland has been awful which is why we try and spend much of the winter in our place outside Torrevieja. The road to Fort William is epic in the summer.
Best and most informative channel on UA-cam. I would always search for a review before purchasing a car. You deserve all the success and good luck for 2024.
What a gracious way to spunk £180.00 in fuel, both in the mode of transport and the reasoning behind it. Good man. Festive good wishes to you Matt, and here's to a happy and prosperous new year. With less massive overspends.......
I drove a 2006 vogue with 120,000 miles on , from North Yorkshire to Ukraine used it on the front line for 5 months then back with only one fault , suspension bags . The car was faultless barring the bags
There's a slim chance I passed you in my 2003 4.4 L322 heading south on the Fort William to Loch Lomond stretch. Kept my eyes peeled in your footage especially as I had to pull over twice to reset a couple of faults namely a "Trans failsafe prog" 😂
Great video Matt , as always ! Content is so everyday but special road trip mix …. The L322 is the perfect car choice for the weather you encountered … on a different day , the sports car you mentioned would definitely be a return journey then go North to the NC500 route … as it’s called now but in days gone by was just our loop for a great run ! At least there were no faults on the RR … that’s got to have been a bonus.. I hope the dudes who ordered your gear appreciated the personal delivery …! Thanks for 2023 content …. I Never miss it , it’s one of my essential weekend views while at work in Kazakhstan ..!
Great video Matt, love your range. I’ve recently bought a 06 4.4 jaaag v8 l322 vogue in Buckingham blue thanks to your influence. it’s fantastic. Keep up the good work!
A very cinematic episode. And a nice, feel good, Christmas theme. All the best Matt to you, your brother, and your family. And love the new version of your theme music. Greetings from Prague !
Playing Postman is in equal parts the best and silliest excuse for a road trip I can think of, and I’m 100% for it. Great video. Here’s to a great 2024 for the channel 🥂
The key may need reprogramming. Put in the lock turn it to the left and hold the lock button for 10 seconds. That may help. That feature started in the P38 series.
Brilliant road trip, very sad your customer wasn't in, bet they were gutted when they found out ? Love your Channel, keep them coming. Here's to a Fantastic new year and more vids. Best Wishes for 2024.
The first attempt to deliver merch was a reasonable fail... but when you headed off to Scotland, I was fully expecting the recepients to cry with joy as you stood on their doorstep as if Mariah Carey had turned up to sing 'all I want for christmas' in person. Then we were hit with the double fail. At least you tried!
If you think the scenery of Loch Lomond/Black Mount/Glencoe is stunning, try it in the winter! Snow on the mountains! My father & I used to go skiing there at the weekends, but only if the weather forecast was good (back then (1960s) the forecast was only right about 50% of the time). With the snow on the mountains, it's just spectacular, and gets even better as you climb the ski mountain, whether on foot or on the ski lifts.. To get there, we had to use the Erskine Ferry, now replaced by the bridge. When you see the lights of Glasgow from above as you're coming back, that's spectacular too, in its own way. My dad had a series of Rover 2000/3500s, a very nice car at the time.
@@HighPeakAutos Highly recommended. But beware, the weather can be really foul, which can make it deadly on the mountains if you're not wearing the right kit. Sorry, I forgot to say thanks for the video which I greatly enjoyed (apart from the intro!). Seems like global warming is having an effect - 60 years ago this time of year you woulld have seen some snow on the mountains. Best time of year for skiing in Scotland is March/April.
Love the production on this vid. Real shame the weather was so bad, Glencoe area is utterly jaw dropping when not shrouded in cloud! Merry Christmas mate

Out of curiosity, why did you use, what I assume if stock footage, from the Isle of Skye 16:00? You'd have to have taken one strange detour if you ended up there when heading to
That’s a beautiful RR, the exterior color is excellent and the interior is very classy, I love the non tinted windows also, the price of fuel though is a sickener especially for gas guzzlers.

Good choice. All the best
Hope you enjoyed your Xmas and a happy and prosperous new year to you.
Happy holidays!
Thank you. That’s a nice compliment. All the best
Good idea. Thanks. Merry Christmas
Clearly going away for the Xmas period 😂and that's the are bnb. What a lovely view!
AJ is a great addition to the videos, keep them up guys!
Thanks!
Has someone done converted the front head lights from the standard ones on an L322 to the Range Rover Sport ones.
The radio issue - I had the same on a jaguar XF. It was the Bluetooth module (on the jag it was under the passenger seat). Spraying the circuit board with electrical contact spray fixed it completely…👍
Great video once again, really good to see different formats, the channel is going from the strength to strength
Glad you think so!
Needless to say I meant L405, but can’t seem to edit right now … 👍
Good choice. All the best
And you - happy new year ☺❄👍@@HighPeakAutos
Very relevant to myself atm, up in Scotland for christmas, staying near Loch Lomond and driving out visiting castles/Stirling/Edinburgh. Love Scotland.
Range Rover L322's are just the best way to travel. Just completed a 10day holiday in mine, a round trip through Scandinavia. 2,500miles and 30 to the gallon whats not to like. The snow in Norway was fun.
That sounds like a great trip
This is exactly the weather I expected when I visited Scotland in April. However, it was clear blue skies everyday and it peaked at 20 degrees. It was stunning, especially Glencoe!
I bet! I’ll have to go back in summer
I’ve stayed at Rowan Cottage, it’s a lovely place with amazing views. Not sure why they would have a parcel delivered there though.
The weather in Scotland has been awful which is why we try and spend much of the winter in our place outside Torrevieja. The road to Fort William is epic in the summer.
Best and most informative channel on UA-cam. I would always search for a review before purchasing a car. You deserve all the success and good luck for 2024.
I appreciate that! Merry Christmas
The pumps do/did have that "thing" - they disabled them for "safety". Carry a Velcro cable tie.
And a pair of snips?
@@HighPeakAutos Velcro - Hook And Loop, re-use, not a regular plastic cable tie.
What a gracious way to spunk £180.00 in fuel, both in the mode of transport and the reasoning behind it. Good man. Festive good wishes to you Matt, and here's to a happy and prosperous new year. With less massive overspends.......
Happy new year!
04:20... what a rare thing that is parked on the right... a red Fiat Panda 4x4!!
Compliments of the season Matt. Thanks for all the great videos.
Thanks! All the best
Thank you! All the best
Merry Christmas Matt, thanks for all the great content over 2023. I think the L322 has aged well and in that colour combination looks fantastic
Thanks! I love it. All the best
New jingle - yes! Nice. What a film tho - stunning filming; the Glen Coe bit - just sensational.
Isnt it just! Cheers
I love that drive up to Scotland. Loch Lomond is beautiful. Great customer care Matt.
Peak Christmas Day! High Peak Video with an L322. Happy Christmas Matt.
Same to you! Thanks
Nice! Took our 2004 petrol/lpg RR up to the lake district last year. Doing what it was designed to do!
Great video Matt, love your range. I’ve recently bought a 06 4.4 jaaag v8 l322 vogue in Buckingham blue thanks to your influence. it’s fantastic. Keep up the good work!
Best part 5:44 - How high is Matt's voice? Does that sound a confident man 🤣🤣
Hahaha
A very cinematic episode. And a nice, feel good, Christmas theme. All the best Matt to you, your brother, and your family. And love the new version of your theme music. Greetings from Prague !
Thank you buddy. All the best
Playing Postman is in equal parts the best and silliest excuse for a road trip I can think of, and I’m 100% for it. Great video. Here’s to a great 2024 for the channel 🥂
Hahaha cheers. All the best
The key may need reprogramming. Put in the lock turn it to the left and hold the lock button for 10 seconds. That may help. That feature started in the P38 series.
Some amazing camera work and editing there
Glad you think so!
Hahaha imagine
Thank you for making so many good videos and entertaining our humble UA-cam community Matt.
I don’t believe you no Range Rover has ever covered that distance without breaking down. Was it on a trailer. And I should know I’ve had two.
Merry Christmas Matt. A long time viewer. Watch your channel religiously. Great journey you have had. Look forward to more great content in 2024.
Thanks! Merry Christmas
Oh wow. I’ll have to try that sometime
Merry Christmas Matt! I don't know if people commented on this topic but i wanna say that i really like the way you choose your outfits. Simple, elegant and stylish everytime.
Thanks. Merry Christmas
£10 on Reese’s Pieces!! Merry 19:35 Christmas from Essex, CT. Didn’t know you’re from Manchester. My great great grandparents emigrated from Manchester to the US in 1845. Thanks for all you do to educate us and entertain us.
That’s interesting. Have you ever been? Merry Christmas
Never been to Manchester. Was to London in 1985 in connection with the purchase of the leasehold and land of Adelphi house for my employer.
Out of curiosity, why did you use, what I assume if stock footage, from the Isle of Skye 16:00? You'd have to have taken one strange detour if you ended up there when heading to
That’s a beautiful RR, the exterior color is excellent and the interior is very classy, I love the non tinted windows also, the price of fuel though is a sickener especially for gas guzzlers.
sick tune for the intro and end of video. it's staying and that's final. Merry Christmas
Happy new year! I have greatly enjoyed your content over the last year and this was a lovely chill video to end the year. All the best.
