Open a bank account even if you don't have biometric passport - Netherlands🇳🇱

Anyone who does not already have a Dutch payment account will have more opportunities to open one starting Monday, October 3. From then on, four additional types of identity documents will be accepted. You can read which these types of documents will be accepted below:
A Cyrillic Ukrainian passport combined with a 'certificate of identity verification' issued by the Ukrainian Embassy. Your Cyrillic passport must be valid. Or it should have been renewed by the Ukrainian Embassy with a renewal stamp, valid at the time of the account application.
An expired Ukrainian biometric passport renewed by the Ukrainian Embassy with an extension stamp, still valid at the time of the account application.
A Ukrainian permanent residence permit valid on Feb. 24, 2022 (the first day Ukraine was attacked by Russia) in combination with a valid passport from another country outside the EU.
A valid O document that has been issued by the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) to Ukrainian refugees without recognized identity documents.
All existing and new options for applying for a Dutch checking account will remain available as long as you hold Temporary Protection. The Betaalvereniging (Payments Association) reports this in a press release today.
Each bank discloses on its own website how to apply for an account and the conditions and guidelines for doing so. For example, with some banks, an application must be physically submitted at a bank branch, while with other banks it can only be done online.
Almost all banks require applicants to be registered in the Dutch Basisregistratie Personen (BRP) and have a citizen service number (BSN). Banks that do not impose this requirement indicate this on their website.
