You folks have a wonderful Xmas. I thought my Cincinatti Monoset was complex but seeing your Kwik-way grinder I realise I was mistaken as to the meaning of "complex". Best regards to you both Sarah
Very true. That would definitely make it more controllable. However, I've learned that grinders hate to plunge generally speaking. Plunging is the only way to gash an end mill though where rapid in/out feeding can be combined with the feel and sound of the operation.
It should have a very accurate gradation for setting the 6-ball chuck and the 3-roller attachment angles and it doesn't look to have either one, and guessing at it''s nfg. Also would the 3-rollers need a longer belt & then be able to hold a lifter for facing and still have enough range to still do the valve ends?
The six ball chuck has degree graduations on about a 9" diameter so the lines are pretty far apart and it's easy to get the exact angle you need. The 3 roller offset has a micrometer dial for very precise setting of the angle. The 3 roller mechanism has plenty of extra belt length and tensioning spring travel to accommodate larger diameters.
i didn't notice a reservoir for grinding lubricant. btw i have the original manual for my kwikway valve grinder and it says a mixture of kerosene and lard
Glad to finally see my father’s old yard sale find up and running. Way to go.
We're super happy to give it a new home!
She's a beauty!
Cheers! A&T
Congratulations, that's really sweet. Using the old ratchet straps as belts is genius.
Thank you very much!
We appreciate your comment!
Merry Christmas. It looks like your getting the machine figured out.👍

Yes sir. Figured some of it out.
It still has some secrets waiting to be discovered!
Cheers!

Merry Christmas to you too!
You could try to put a dial indicator on that course infeed & bump it to where you want it if you needed to.
