we miss you dane! We are down the road from you in Blanco. I work for myself doing tractor repair in the Blanco area. I have a few customers including my father in law that do custom hay farming. I also run skid steer in my down time for one of my hay customers. Putting AC system in a JD 2955 today to get ready for the season! You thinking we are gonna have a better year this year? I know a lot of guys ended up buying hay from the valley just to keep their cows and customers going. Thanks man, keep making videos!
Do you prefer hauling bigger loads on a deckover versus using the dumptrailer? Once we started using a dumptrailer our deckover just sits. I may break it out for 6' bales as that is a bit side for the dump trailer (12"). Had a customer show up with two 20-bales dumps last year. Each one left with 30 bales! I put the 3rd row on top between the standard 2 rows. I didn't mind loading it but wouldn't want to drive it with 1 ton pickups that they had. They were just 4x5s but still a lot of hay.
Got 3 old 2275 IH trucks with mechanical Big Cam Cummins .... M11s are electronic L10s.........Only our old U 600 Mack has a Ball hitch mounted behind the 5th wheel...... the IHs are fifth wheels only for pulling step decks, box vans, flat beds and the lowboy.......A 53ft dry van will hold 756 small squares which is almost 38000 lbs.....
I would go with a HD 4-way pivot 5th wheel hitch over a GN. That what I run and run king pin adapters like you have on all my GN trailers. So much faster and easier hookups and disconnects.
How do you like the truck? I’m looking for a single axle semi right now but am not sure what I want to get. It’ll be hauling a 40’ GN moving hay and equipment primarily.
I wouldn’t even worry about another hitch with a 5th wheel ain’t designed for safety chains roll on don’t worry about what someone thinks as long as your legal

All Ag and commercial trailers are exempt from safety chains. Your covered either way. Texas section 21.5 is the code for safety chains.
Implement of husbandry...

Same here. I need a rig that will haul more hay per trip. The air horn is just a bonus. 😊
You might want to put some fenders on your semi so it doesn’t throw a rock through the back glass
kingpin don't need safety chains where a gooseneck ball does
This may be a goofy question but do you need a cdl with that rig for hauling hay
Not for your own use. At least here in Georgia.
We need them hats restocked on the website
Welcome back

52k pounds not bad for a truck rated at 32k pounds.
most places i know if its on a fifth wheel you don't need the chains that's why fifth wheel campers don't come with them factory
Do you have a cdl?
👍😎
How longs that gooseneck
50ft
@@GolschHayFarms I was thinking love your videos sir
