Singing Wells Spotlight: Kangema Urban Group

Singing Wells Spotlight shines a light on the music of different groups across East Africa.
We met the Kangema Urban Group on our Kenyan Field Trip in 2014. They are a group of women who play in the Gitiro style - the dance performed by women during ruracio, a dowry payment occasion. The group is led by Jacinta Njoki Mwangi and was formed in 2006.
