EYUP SULTAN TOMB and MOSQUE | Special for the Month of Ramadan

The complex consisting of Eyüp Sultan Mosque and its surrounding madrasah, soup kitchen, Turkish bath and tomb was built by Fatih Sultan Mehmed right after the conquest of Istanbul. In addition, it is recorded in the Hadîkatü'l-cevâmi that many foundations were built in Eyüp Sultan Mosque and Tomb to read the mawlid on blessed days and nights throughout the Ottoman history. It is seen that Evliya Çelebi's travel book also gives information about the mosque and the tomb.
