You gave preacher the gift of mercy and passion and love, and he gifted you, his new and improved form, I truly believe this was preachers gift to you ❤ we love you preacher!! And Welcome preacher Jr!! ❤❤
These are my favorite kind of videos you do. It's always something I have to explain to my clients about a dogs temperament and how the training will differ depending on that. Gorgeous dogs as always!
Great lesson today! I love how you relate your lessons on the pack to human packs as well. This is the insight that I admire so much about you! Little Preacher is a joy to watch. I love love love this smart, feisty little man! Thanks for sharing God Bless
She is so patient with him, its like she is the only one willing to play and tolerate him, other are just giving the ah ah and he understand. Bella rose is willing to come to his level and act like a pup would .
Liked the way Asia came over to them and put a stop to it straight away. Preacher Junior seems to be quite independent aswell as dominant, watching him walk away on his own watching the others taking it all in ❤️
I was just gonna say Bella Rose, is using the Cashmere training 101. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy watching these videos about dog behavior. I’ve learned so much all these years of watching. Oh and PJ is great to watch. Just love Velocity she is a good baby sitter to. ❤❤
I have to say I absolutely love your property and of course the dogs as well. You have my actual dream, a huge group of dogs and property that they can run around on. Rachael I'm so jealous ❤. Keep being you, cuz you are just such a great dog owner, breeder and mother.
For anyone interested, Rachel mentions people trying to say that alphas don't exist, it's because a wolf researcher named Rudolph Shenkel wrote a paper on alpha theory in wolves and was later proven wrong by further research and renounced his findings. People just hear "oh, he was wrong" and assume that alphas don't exist but look no further into what exactly Shenkel was wrong /about/. This paper was published in the late 1940s and back then people believed that wolf packs in the wild were made up of random, unrelated individuals who packed up when food was scarce and then broke up and paired off to raise pups when food was plentiful again. So it only made sense to Shenkel to study a group of captive wolves in which all the animals were random and unrelated. He observed violence and constant competition among the wolves because they were not a family unit and came up with his alpha theory that the biggest, strongest, most aggressive wolves become alpha for breeding rights and what not. Of course later research of actual wild wolf packs reveals that the leaders are the mated pair of parents to the rest of the pack, their young and juvenile pups. There is a natural hierarchy among wild wolves and disputes are handled civilly, it doesn't make sense for them to fight violently among themselves and risk injury to a packmate to the detriment of the pack. So, yes Shenkel was wrong and denounced his paper, but years later people just reject dominance and pack hierarchy altogether without looking into why Shenkel was wrong in his alpha theory. He was wrong about a lot of things, but there is still dominance and social structure among wild wolves, and domestic dogs, there is no denying that. People are just willfully ignorant and misinformed.
Very interesting video, learned something new. I really enjoyed watching. Thank you! Gosh, really this has to be one of my favorite videos. So informative and showing the pack behavior, etc.
It blows my mind how people confuse dominant and aggressive. Or if a dog is dominant then they are automatically titled aggression. Preacher was a well balance dominant dog very confident. I was lucky to have had a well balanced dominant female she was amazing. Looking forward to watching PJ grow and the females look great.
You're absolutely right. Too many people see a simple dog on dog correction as aggression. There's a channel on here that shows a Belgian Malinois and the owner gives descriptions of his body language etc. He has been criticized for having an unruly dog who starts fights. It's insane coz he is just a dominant dog who corrected unwanted behaviour in other dogs at the dog park.
Very informative 👏🏽! When I had my 2 male great danes, one was an alpha as well. I couldn't walk him on the city streets like I could his brother because stray dogs would pick up his alpha smell and want to try to come challenge him. I had him on the leash under control, but it was challenging to keep stray dogs from coming too close to us. His brother, I could walk down the street and not be bothered by a stray dog. So yep they can smell his alpha smell. 😊
Oh wow I just realized her videos haven't came through my feed in a long time. I feel so lost on who the newer puppies are and who got so big. Now I have to go back and watch videos on what's been going on lol. Last time I watched I think Nirvana had won her first big show or something.
My cane corso is not my first guardian breed but is my first cane corso. There were a lot of videos & articles about how sensitive they are & that you shouldn't be too harsh in correcting them. So I tried that & used soft but firm verbal corrections. We got her at 4 months old so she wasn't a small cuddly puppy anymore. She was stubborn and the most entitled dog I've EVER come across. At 5 months or so she started bullying me with body slams and I figured enough was enough! I started using my knees to her chest when she jumped at me and when she was disrespectful, which was a lot of the time, I started putting her on her side. She was already big and boy would she struggle and fight back! but I wasn't letting that stop me. After weeks of battling, it got her thinking twice before being so disrespectful. I still ended up getting an Ecollar to communicate with her from afar because she was headstrong and entitled. She's now almost 4 years old, and while still stubborn & entitled and far from perfect, she has learned to listen and have some impulse control. It was a classic case of "train the dog in front of you" and that is something we should never lose sight of. That was just 1 dog. Rachel's handling of her dogs is on a whole other level 🥰
Hi Everyone! I do love your educational learning videos! Bella Rose is amazing nanny dog who has patience yet determined teaching corrections with puppies. She is definitely calmer patience version of Cashmere with puppies. I am definitely loving young amazing Preacher so much. I am happy in watching your enjoyment and excitement with young Preacher who has brought fresh outlook in life for yourself and everyone else too. I hope everyone have good and safe weekend.
Great video! I always love seeing these dogs together. The only dogs we haven't seen in a while are Remy and Brianne. I've noticed you tend to get onto Ibiza whenever she tries to assert her dominance. I wonder if it's because you do not trust her judgment or if it's because you don't believe that she is capable or a natural alpha. There doesn't seem to be much sibling rivalry between kimchi and Ibiza anymore, so that's cool. Switch is such a good dog, no one ever really messes with her, I used to think she was on her way to being the next alpha or beta but now I'm not so sure. She definitely doesn't have that intense need to dominate like her mother did. Asia is the most stunning corso everrrr ❤
It’s been observed in the felidae that they’ll act scared by their cubs and kittens in order to help them with their confidence and stalking tactics. It’s also been observed in the canidae family that weaker animals (especially males) will self handicap themselves during play in order to keep the other animal(s) engaged. Also during confrontations such as scuffles at a carcass males won’t attack females as aggressively as they would another male. They’ll be animals of course and be possessive and defend what they think is there’s but they want use the same force on a female. Also remember how the OG Preacher used to tolerate Jefè dominating him all the time when he was a youngster. Animals absolutely do know what they’re doing. To touch on what you were saying about society, I’ll just say a lot of people doing like the idea of a hierarchy. I don’t know why hierarchies are seen as such as bad thing when hierarchies exist within all social beings. Velocity challenging Nirvana was her reinforcing her status and position over Nirvana because of how dominant she was being. I remember Cashmere used to do it to dominate dogs all the time. A dog dominant another dog, Cashmere goes and dominates them. Blondie do the same thing and so does Nirvana to dogs that’s lower ranking than her. Being too dominant can get you dominated by a higher ranking individual. *Also congratulations on the new job, Savannah.* Thanks for the upload.

She’s rolling him into submissive posture over and over. She’s a good momma. Love her. In my home he’d be getting his back leg chewed up going up the stairs. That’s the dominant dog trait that’s passed on. Now the chihuahua is pulling on the back leg of my lab. Silly dogs. Dominance is such a thing. Always have to be the alpha here in my house though. Love dog behavior. I told you I’m going to love watching PJ a being a bully boy. Hey, I missed some dogs being placed. Wonder if some day you can go down your list of breedings. It’s been a long run since the beginning.
I am wanting to become a breeder in the next 5 years and I am already a dog trainer (just giving context so you know this is not a criticism of any kind but just a genuine question). Are you keeping Preacher Jr away from the other males to keep his dominant side? I would have expected one of them to administer a harsh lesson early. I agree that you dont fundamentally change a dogs true nature but i find it hard to believe that he would not be different if he was receiving regular firm corrections from one of the males (the natural pack has both males and females). If this is not the case and you think that Preacher Jr would still revolt in the same manner consistently with the males, can you explain why you think that. I appreciate all your content and the fact that you explain things clearly for those that may not be fully informed. 😊

From what I've learned from Rachel and her channel, Preacher dominant is different from Battista dominant. Rachel compares Battista to like a male lion.
My pup is doing the same thing. He is 11 weeks old the mama and daddy get in her an correct it but 5:00 he will repeat the same thing ever time. I let the parents correct him but if I think it a over kill o correct them too. Corso/ pitbull pup
