Did you notice the roman numerals notched in the ends of your roof trusses? The builders of the past used these numerals to keep track of the various pieces lumber of each of the trusses.

Those timbers are numbered on the end with Roman numerals. You don't see that anymore.

Yeah they are all marked to know the order they go in also the rafters are marked to fit the right beam as they are all axed by hand!

Yes, I feel like her recovery is a bit slow… growing concerned.
@@user-ho3dk4pg8y Why slow? She said before the surgery that she was supposed to not move her head around too much for several weeks and it's normal to have a bit of a weak voice after surgery in that area (not to mention from the incubator). She's already back working days after the surgery.

Are the new roof tiles zinc coated metal tiles? I think it’s going to look super cute with that rusty red roof color.❤️
They are cement and fiberglass mixture very durable and strong tiles meant to last 50 years plus. Metal is a lot cheaper but it also requires OSB which cost more than the roof tiles them self. These tiles absorb the rain sound and they can hold a lot of snow on them!

Just a thought ,A greenhouse off the side of the veranda and built with the rocket stove pipes as the heat source ?
We are planning exactly that more like a room for us to enjoy with a pizza oven! But the glass alone would be very expensive but maybe one day!

David , estáis haciendo un trabajo excelente. Allí no tenéis para el tejado lo que se llama , panel sándwich?? La terminación exterior es como la que habéis comprado pero viene ya con el aislamiento y la terminación interior , se van colocando como las lams de madera del suelo . Tienen una pestaña y van encajando una con otra , yo creo que te hubiera salido el mismo,precio o más barato ya que te ahorras el aislamiento y la terminación por dentro .
Espero que Despierte se encuentre mejor y ya no esté tan cansada y con los problemas que le producía la tiroides . 💚
Sandwich panels are cool but the overall cost is a lot more than what we build! We could almost build double for the cost of sandwich panel building.

Those timbers aren't deep enough and your supporting the outside edge only on a wall plate you need to have either a timber lintel or joist hanger beam system, and you don't have either...
You could absolutely extend the veranda to the left "from the viewer's view" would be really nice....
We could but it cover the window and the guest room is already quite dark!
@@DoBeDiff what about just a concrete slab, a wood frame and clear plastic roof, or no roof at all, just a patio....

as your up on roof clean moss of as it eats roofs as bits roots go in roof so it can live roof decay

I believe the second story to the addition will be too high and will look awkward. The scale will be wrong and will look like at tower, unless of course, this is what you have planned.
