70 years actually, Nim is definitely not the first video or computer game, because computers didn't exist till 1942, and video television didn't get introduced till the 40's, meaning the first real video game would be Knoughts and Crosses, since apparently it was actually controlled using video channels, also Knoughts and Crosses is considered the first video game from Ahoy, and any "video games" before Knoughts and Crosses didn't actually use video channels, only electro-mechanical channels.
Wow…
Two corrections at 6:41, first Radar Scope was released in 1980, by then they've already released several arcade games that were mostly clones of Breakout and Space Invaders, that's two. There was one game that was notable called Sheriff (released in the US as Bandido and licensed to Exidy). This was Nintendo's hit before Radar Scope.
sorry to be that guy but “🤓”

Okay! Here is an official Old Person(tm)'s random memories of (some of) these games. :)
1. My dad used to kick ass at PacMan and be pretty good at Donkey Kong, in the arcade. He could also beat SUPER PacMan on one quarter. I literally saw him do this. :)
2. We used to have the original Mario Bros (no Super yet) on the Atari 2600! Super Mario, I played for the first time at a stand-up arcade console at the local convenience store.
3. ZELDA! Oh, mygod, I was obsessed for a while. Actually my fave early Zelda was the second one, and the rest of my family agreed, but the original is awesome too of course. Also fun random personal memory: The day I finally got around to buying the original Legend of Zelda at the Toys R Us, was also the same day I got a new pair of glasses.
So my first few playthroughs were pretty blurry, as my eyes hadn't gotten used to the glasses yet. :P
4. Tetris! My particular first memory of this game is as follows: My local Star Trek club (shut up) was having a big fun New Year's Eve sleepover party kinda deal, at one of the members' houses. To celebrate the turning of the decade--1989, to 1990.
At one point, us kids were upstairs behaving very nicely, quietly playing Tetris. While the ADULTS were downstairs very loudly playing Uno. :P
5. As with Zelda, I accidentally played the second Sonic game first. When I went back to Sonic 1, the fact that you can't spin-dash in that one REALLY kept throwing me off.
6. Oh, I suck to high heaven at fighting games. The only one I remember doing well at is a semi-obscure Sailor Moon one.
--"Is this Jackie Chan"? No, but Jackie Chan DID briefly "turn into" Chun Li for a weird scene in one of his movies. No, really. "City Hunter", look it up.
7. Oh, my brother used to be obsessed with Wolfenstein! And then Doom. I think he actually kinda liked Wolfenstein better. (Actually I don't know why I'm talking about him like he's no more, or something. I can literally just ask him. :P)
YES! I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO'S CLUMSY WITH THE DOORS IN THESE GAMES! VINDICATION! :P
8. Ah, the classic tradition of playing (computer) Solitaire at your desk instead of working. :)
There are actually a whole BUNCH of variations of Solitaire--some of them you might like better than the original. (shrug) I taught my dad how to play a couple of them.
9. Oh, the ol' polygon-y era of 3D games! It's so clunky but also so distinctive looking. If you see that style of graphics, you immediately know what era the game is from (or trying to look like).
10. I suck at Pokemon and have only played it a bit, but yeah, I always pick Charmander as my starter (in the Gen 1 games) too! :)
11. Ah, SNAKE! I didn't have a Nokia phone, but Snake is another one of those classic just geometric shapes, simple-but-addictive kinda games.
12. I'm medium-good at racing games, and like them in general if it's the kind where you get to go across the countryside. I remember, one Halloween I was playing something like Gran Turismo in an arcade, while in costume. Awesome times. :)
13. AAAAAAA DREAMCAST ohmygod, that was one of my main things for a while. Apparently they're supposed to be notorious for breaking down really fast, but mine lasted FOREVER. I remember that year--I had a job that was making me SUPER miserable, so I saved up my spendin' money and got myself a Dreamcast + Sonic Adventure to cheer myself up a bit.
14. THE SIMS!! I played this like crazy in 2000. My brother played it like crazy (and in fact, is the one who introduced me to it). My mom played it like crazy. The first screenshot I ever saw was a Sim version of my own house at the time, sent to me by my brother over AOL Instant Messenger. No, really.
I went on to Sims 2 which became one of my VERY fave games of all time, and today I occasionally bust out Sims 4.
Fun fact: Sims 1 was the very best-selling PC game of all time, for quite a while. :)
15. Wait...Runescape and WoW came out THE SAME YEAR? How come I didn't know that until now? Huh! Anyway I used to play Runescape a bit. I steered away from WoW when I heard how angry the bad connection/lag kept making my brother, in the next room. I believe he actually made up entire new swear words and printed them into the dictionary.
16. I remember playing Wii Bowling over at the house of one of the members of the aforementioned Star Trek club, which was still going at the time. My favourite thing was to deliberately just toss the ball right BEHIND me into the audience, because the game lets you so why not. :P
17. Angry Birds always kinda bugged me, because I first played the Flash game "Crush the Castle", in which it all completely depends on PHYSICS. In Angry Birds it depends on special specific abilities of different birds and whatnot, so it drove me NUTS every time I did a _perfect_ physics shot which should've just satisfyingly collasped the whole structure....and nothing happened.
And now I will finally shut up. :P
Nim was not the first videogame!!! The definition of a videogame is: A video game or computer game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface or input device (such as a joystick, controller, keyboard, or motion sensing device) to generate visual feedback from a display device. A display device is electronic screen. The letters and numbers of a old VHS player, first digital camera, Nixie tubes, VF display etc.
The Nimb was only a device with normale light bulbs. The non-programmable digital computer composed of electro-mechanical relays which could respond to players' choices in the game in a dozen different patterns. The machine, which weighed over a metric ton, displayed four lines of seven light bulbs both in front of the player and on four sides of an overhead cube. Players alternated turns with the machine in removing one or more lights from one of the rows until the lights were all extinguished.
