    Thanks for all the incredible work you have done. Inspired by your channel over time I finally took the leap and started a handyman business. I picked up an annual grow Jobber account through your discount. Thanks again for your quality content from Full Send Handyman formally known as Lightventures.

      They probably know what they're spending to store all that data and have likely considered charging for it. But yes I'm afraid they'll change their mind some day. I'm sure they'll grandfather existing photos if they do. I agree it's a great platform.

      It's too expensive. It has a lot of cool stuff, but so do other free ones. We switched off Jobber to another one called Field Rocket because they have a free version, and their free version was all we needed. When we do upgrade, it's also less expensive than Jobber and Housecall Pro

      Also, Jobber has 50% off at the moment. That was going to end on the 29th and they've extended it to the 31st but that discount will be going away on the 1st.

    I just finished the full video, at 2x speed for efficiency. Amazing! I very much enjoyed the deep dives. I am still trying to wrap my head around online booking and job forms.

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  8 місяців тому

      Those could both be videos in themselves, especially online booking. I dove into the online booking and pretty much got it figured out. It's definitely the perfect tool for someone just starting out. Who wants to simply set an hourly rate and get booked. Anything more experienced than that and it's still a great tool but it will require custom line items like the ones that I provide to you all and it takes a bit of setup so that the system works correctly and books you for the right amount of time, with the right amount of drive time between jobs. I could see me doing online booking if I was working for homeowners for sure.
      I'm glad the video was useful

      ua-cam.com/video/HuXsJQQfGHw/v-deo.html I haven't gone back to rewatch this to see how much info I squeezed in or to see if anything has changed since I made it but I did try to do a video covering as much as I could figure out. For Job Forms I found that they were relatively easy to figure out. You have to go to the settings tab to create them, but they are pretty intuitive.

    Be careful. Takes forever to receive money. 5-7 for first time and 2-4 business days after that. For the high percentage should be quicker. Don't take deposits if you need funds quickly. Will hold up whole job

    Great in-depth review! And the channel is phenomenal as well. Question for you. I saw a handyman in Seattle that stated he didn't go out to customer homes for bids, but instead required customers to submit photos and requests on his website so he could review photos and provide a bid without having to travel to their homes. Is that something that could be done via Jobber? I'm pretty sure I could do it in Wix, but I think the integration with Jobber would be ideal.

    Ray, you're a gentleman and a handyman scholar. Thank you for your knowledge and willingness to share. I'm sure I likely missed this, but what plan are you leveraging in Jobber? I imagine you're at "Connect" or "Grow" at this point. The price is a significant barrier to entry, so I'm looking at going the "Lite" route or, at most, "Core" to start out. Generally speaking, I'm not aspiring to grow my business past a sole proprietorship, so I think either option will suffice. My only hang-up is everyone saying that Quickbooks is a necessary evil when it comes to tax season...

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  4 місяці тому +1

      My accountant has not requested that I use QuickBooks, he seems to be satisfied with the data that he pulls from jobber. However, if you're trying to do your own taxes, then you may or may not need QuickBooks. I'm going to start using QuickBooks very soon, but I'm not sure that I necessarily have to have it. I think it's going to be something nice to have, but not something that I absolutely must have. I've done fine for a few years without it.

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  4 місяці тому +1

      I forgot to mention, yes, I've been on the grow plan for probably 3 years now. I didn't initially start using it for the purpose of literally growing the business bigger, but instead I was using it for the extra features that it has for estimates as well as for some of the automation. I liked that it sent out invoice reminders and quote reminders automatically for me so I didn't have to do all of that following up. I basically just figured out how many hours per month it would save me and multiply that by $100 an hour since I was working 7 days a week and then doing admin work until 9:00 at night.

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  7 місяців тому

      Not to the best of my knowledge. They do have a partnership with fleet sharp, which will track your mileage, but I don't think the job or software by itself will track all of your mileage.

    Great content! It's a lot for me to take in so I am scheduling time this week to sit down and go through your video.
    I assume you have it addressed, but how do I record transactions for materials that I return?

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  8 місяців тому

      That's a really good question that hasn't occurred to me before. I usually just put things into my inventory if I don't need them. My initial answer would be to just delete the original expense documentation but I don't think that's the right answer. I've reached out to ask if they have a more formal answer for how to document returns. I'll get back with you on their response as soon as I receive it.

      I'm only 6 months operating my business full time so I'm still a bit inefficient on orders. I also asked jobber and they told me they don't have anything at the moment. Maybe I can mark it as income for the job it applies to? @@bulletproofhandyman

    • @bulletproofhandyman

    Nice indepth video. Can Jobber be used for an online service program? I offer book cover designs for authors and writers. I generally send out a quote that needs to be approved and then an invoice that requires a 50% payment before designing begins. Would this be an advantage for me?

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  3 місяці тому

      It would definitely work for that, but I don't know all of the ins and outs of your industry. They would definitely be able to book online as long as you make sure that you keep the logs updated. I would hesitate to say I recommend it simply because I don't know what I don't know. All I can say for sure is that it would work. My recommendation would be to try it out with the free trial to see if it fits your business.
