    • @giovannibortoluzzi1384

      What matters is the length of the air column mostly. Anyway the material reflects differently the sound, copper is good but also PVC is a good reflector. I would say that a difference between the two wouldn't be much noticeable.

    • @petehoover6616
      @petehoover6616 3 роки тому

      The Chinese flute dizi is what you're looking for. They are common items in Chinese gift shops but buy a good one from China. They are standard six-hole flutes in a major scale like a penny whistle or Irish flute but they have an extra hole between the embouchure hole and the first finger hole. That hole is covered with the paper inside of a bamboo tube (called dimo in Chinese) but I use cigarette paper and glue it with a cut clove of fresh garlic. The paper is at a node. The effect is of a flute but with a kazoo added to it that buzzes and increases volume.

    Hello, I'm late to the video but I hope you read it and can help me with my questions.
    1.- In total, how many cm or mm is the instrument 40, 42 or 43cm?
    2.- Are the 6 front holes (where the fingers are placed) ll measure 7 mm? Or what diameter is each hole??
    3.- Is the tube you use to make the mouthpiece 60 mm long?
    4.- What key is the instrument in? (DO. SOL. RE. SI?)
    5.- How do you say to get the grades? (like a recorder, like a clarinet or a quena)
    It's not clear to me.
    How far away is the bottom hole marked?
    And how many mm is its diameter

      Even I'm learning music. "I have less than 2 months with my lessons" I can teach you (in my school they teach us the 2 ways to call the notes "Keys" I hope it helps you and you learn something)
      A = LA
      B = SI
      C = DO
      D = RE
      E = MI
      F = FA
      G = SOL O SUN 😋

    Technically it's a clarinet because of its tube form - it's a cylinder. If you used a conical pipe, it would be a saxophone. There is a good science piece online about pipe types of wind instruments and how they affect the sound. Anyway, good job!

    • @RetiredBrass
      @RetiredBrass 4 роки тому +3

      I think it is neither, since both clarinet and saxophone produce the tone by vibrating a reed. Here, it seems the tone is produced by vibrating air against a membrane, so technically this is closer to a kazoo.

    The name of that instrument is "Mirliton" which is the French word for a chayote squash. The octave is a little flat. The seventh could also be sharper. I'd guess it's because the membrane is a little thicker than the one used to figure out the hole distances.

      @Malgowski Michel A flute, such as this one, is just a long pipe. One end, the left, has to be shut properly in order to make some kind of sound of it. Google up transverse flutes, and how bamboo flutes are made. I've made a PVC flute for myself a while ago. And despite not sounding as good as my bamboo one, it sounds fine, just different.

    • @einsaan
      @einsaan 4 роки тому

      you need to know and practice the right way to blow in it so it causes a resonance and the sound. Not very difficult but can be done with a bit of practice. It's not really a saxophone that has Reed to create the sound, it's more of a flute.
