Love the Clarisaxoflute. Absolutely brilliant.

🙂
calls it a saxaphone, plays it like a flute, sounds like a clarinet.... i am confusion
It's 3 in 1
@@broster_jet makes sense (:
I agree except he’s not blowing across the hole. He appears to be blowing straight into it.
Something to do with the thin plastic and the elastic band. He glossed over that bit.
I think it's flute because of the way he produces the sound
Confusionphone
Sounds more like a clarinet though, still, amazing
Maybe because it is actually technically a clarinet
You took the words out of my mouth.
All of such videos deliver similar sounds.
The attempt should be appreciated anyway.
Its because it uses the same reed
yeah wrong, it’s because it is a cylinder. A saxophone is a conical clarinet.
@@rashakor i know but they use the same reed my friend is a clarinet/saxophone player he uses the same reed
I need to make a homemade instrument for my science teacher and this is the perfect solution to getting an A. Thx
Science?

Very good job!!! I agree with the other comments, sounds more like a clarinet. You gave an extremely accurate explanation of the building process. I made one myself really easily, I almost couldn't believe the result! Thanks again. :-)
Giovanni Bortoluzzi does it really work cause I wanna build one for my project and I watched another tutorial and it failed even though I worked so hard
With that name you are Brazilian.
@@isabellagithere9229 yes it does, just find the correct position of the membrane. Watch my tutorial also!
grande giova è il tuo secondo commento che trovo in due giorni, l'altro era in un video di musica mongola mi sembra!
Comments: NOOO THAT ISN'T A SAXOPHONE.
This dude: Haha saxophone bbbrrrr
It is really good technic and produces sound similar to saxophone ( not same )
We have done it and also straight flute cam be changed in to clarinet style instrument by using bamboo palates in the mouth piece instead of bend lock
Very good
How air goes into the pipe brother.??? Could you explain please.
Great idea friend, it sounds good 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
This sounds more like a clarinet than a saxophon!
Eyes: flute.
Ears: clarinet.
Him: saxophone
It looks like a flute, yet sounds like a saxophone
Doesn't sound like a saxophone. It sounds like a clarinet.
@@loganjayo I agree but for what it is, it is great if it is trying to be a sax
To me it sounds like a mix of saxophone and clarinet
The way this man holds the Xacto knife shows he's truly fearless.
I enjoyed this educational video very much
Thanks a lot for ur sharing. I’ll do it for my physics class
Super....the sound is like clarinet or basson.

Lo hice y suena muy lindo gracias, amigo!!!
sounds more like Clarinet .
Because it is
Maybe using copper tubes instead of PVC could make it sound more like brass?
What matters is the length of the air column mostly. Anyway the material reflects differently the sound, copper is good but also PVC is a good reflector. I would say that a difference between the two wouldn't be much noticeable.
Thank you for your very easy instructions, no need for expensive Sax when you can my make your own.
Excelente! Increíble lo que hiciste con caño de PVC! Recomendado 100%
Cool tutorial! I think I will build this thing.
Where did you get the knowledge i. e. how long the tube has to be or at wich marks/measures to drill the holes?
I'd like to learn the details myself, too.
What's the diameter of the second drill?
Thank you for reply!
There is no reply
Probably he made a few and copied the length and placement of the best one
Cool project, would be nice to have a complete list of the materials and tools you used (the type of foam between the layers, rubber band, pvc cutter?, drill press, etc.)
Good job! congratulations
@Nambaron-Electronic or anyone else who might know. Is this schedule 20 PVC or irrigation pvc? Can't find the correct diameter.
Nice I have a whole bunch of these on my yard as I am a plumber
Well done 👍
It's quite amazing what you can create from a single piece of PVC tube.... :) Nice video, congratulations! 🎷❤️🙏
Ide creatif yg mantap. Semoga sukses selalu sobat
Brilliant idea and very copyable! The reed is always the problem, and getting the reed and surface exactly right. The only negative is that you lose the control that the reed lip interface gives you. Did you try to get the clarino part of the range or did that not work?
Thanks for sharing this and all the embedded notes in the video. I have made several PVC flutes (Shackuhachi and Transverse) and was wondering how to add a membrane to make it vibrate...
The Chinese flute dizi is what you're looking for. They are common items in Chinese gift shops but buy a good one from China. They are standard six-hole flutes in a major scale like a penny whistle or Irish flute but they have an extra hole between the embouchure hole and the first finger hole. That hole is covered with the paper inside of a bamboo tube (called dimo in Chinese) but I use cigarette paper and glue it with a cut clove of fresh garlic. The paper is at a node. The effect is of a flute but with a kazoo added to it that buzzes and increases volume.
Vielen Dank . Tolle Sache. Aber überblasen nicht möglich?
Nice😊👍👍
This instrument have three tone clarinet, Sexophone and flute. Great job
is the short pipe i in must be to fit over 3\4 pipe looks good sounds good because it is good
Прекрасный звук для самоделки. Мастер!
That's a clarinet. But cool thought. I think to make a true sax sound, you would need to fit a sax mouth piece on it to accommodate the reed. Tenor is most desirable.
Hello, I'm late to the video but I hope you read it and can help me with my questions.
1.- In total, how many cm or mm is the instrument 40, 42 or 43cm?
2.- Are the 6 front holes (where the fingers are placed) ll measure 7 mm? Or what diameter is each hole??
3.- Is the tube you use to make the mouthpiece 60 mm long?
4.- What key is the instrument in? (DO. SOL. RE. SI?)
5.- How do you say to get the grades? (like a recorder, like a clarinet or a quena)
It's not clear to me.
How far away is the bottom hole marked?
And how many mm is its diameter
Just to let you know, we don’t use Do Re etc etc in English for keys
@@horsermchead2504 And did that answer help?
Even I'm learning music. "I have less than 2 months with my lessons" I can teach you (in my school they teach us the 2 ways to call the notes "Keys" I hope it helps you and you learn something)
A = LA
B = SI
C = DO
D = RE
E = MI
F = FA
G = SOL O SUN 😋
Already knowing and learning that "keys" notes can be called different things, I hope you can help me with my doubts, thank you 😅✌️
muy bueno! gracias 👍
wow you are amazing. PVC pipe also can do
Technically it's a clarinet because of its tube form - it's a cylinder. If you used a conical pipe, it would be a saxophone. There is a good science piece online about pipe types of wind instruments and how they affect the sound. Anyway, good job!
I think it is neither, since both clarinet and saxophone produce the tone by vibrating a reed. Here, it seems the tone is produced by vibrating air against a membrane, so technically this is closer to a kazoo.
Trop bien 👏👏👏👏
The name of that instrument is "Mirliton" which is the French word for a chayote squash. The octave is a little flat. The seventh could also be sharper. I'd guess it's because the membrane is a little thicker than the one used to figure out the hole distances.
Un saxo qui se joue comme une flûte traversière , on aura tout vu sur le web.
Bravo! It sounds like clarinet, but nobody stopped you from giving a suggestion how to make sound like saxophone. I'm not that skillful.

Excellent! Fun! Inspiring! MUSICAL!!! Thank you
I am im confusion, you call it a saxophone, you play it like,a flute, and it sounds like a clarinet
I'm thrilled. it works
Needs adjustments, it's a little bit out of tune. But very cool anyway.
Brilliant bro ,but bro i made same to same but first hole is playing but another 5 holes not working well please solve it plz bro
So very good make
Great👏
Given that the resonator is the plastic film at the end, I would argue that it's more like a kazoo.
I didn't understand last part with the 27mm tube. How does the breath pass to the smaller tube if there's no hole connecting them? Please, someone help

Hello sir i want to say and its my request that lots of people dont know pipe measure ment in mm so they can be confuse in measurement
So i request to you please make new video of this instrent and mention measurement in scale in inches like..20inch ..25inches that will be better for alls who want to make this instrument

great work brother, a question, what type of PVC did you use? . Greetings from Mexico.
Its a pvc conduit
Amazing Idea
Mine isn’t making a sound. What am I doing wrong? What should I check. Please help
Good 👍👍
Sir what is the key of this saxophone? I will definitely try this sir, love you from India and may god bless you and your family.
It’s in the key of G. Notice how instead of going Do Rey Me Fa Sol La Ti Do (C D E F G A B C) he goes Sol La Ti Do Rey Me Fa (G A B C D E F# G).
@@palomapetilos8703 Thank you very much for your reply.
Very inventive!
I did works great thank you man.
Thank you for an interesting experience. But you changed the drill at 3.09 on the timeline. Please tell me, what is the diameter of this new drill?
The first bit was just a small pilot hole. The second one was the 7mm. Notice the color

Nic your right sounds like a Home depot clarinet .
You can play MY ROMANCE on a one major scale saxaflute. Try it.
Sounds like a banjo to me.
Nice. Who did the music on your video?
How about overtones?
You've created a wind instrument, but since it does not use a separate reed, it's not a saxophone.
You blow in a hole and cover/uncover holes with your fingers to change the pitch of the vibration.
You, sir,
Have created a Recorder from PVC.
This is not a recorder, this is a membrane reed clarinet because a recorder uses a fipple
es una flauta traversa o traversera, no es un saxo, aunque suena parecido
That’s cool!
How to make it vertical? It's a question?
definitely sounds more like a clarinet. im a clarinetist
Muy interesante Gracias por compartir saludos desde Oaxaca
I want to try and make two of these to play them like greek Aulos; hmm might need to change the orientation of the mouthpiece section somehow...
it sounds like a soprano sax and a clarinet got it on
Looks like a flute,sounds like a clarinet.
Simple PVC pipemake as saxophone to the best sounds.
Very nice
Gracias. Muy bien explicado las medidas. Gracias
what are the dimensions for the little tube, please?
I tried this for my physics project and it doesn’t work!! please help or im going to fail!!!!
@Malgowski Michel A flute, such as this one, is just a long pipe. One end, the left, has to be shut properly in order to make some kind of sound of it. Google up transverse flutes, and how bamboo flutes are made. I've made a PVC flute for myself a while ago. And despite not sounding as good as my bamboo one, it sounds fine, just different.
you need to know and practice the right way to blow in it so it causes a resonance and the sound. Not very difficult but can be done with a bit of practice. It's not really a saxophone that has Reed to create the sound, it's more of a flute.
Have you failed?
I got it to work eventually and actually got a really good mark😀
Kallycool, I tried it and instead of using a plastic bag on top for where you use the elastic band, use a balloon instead.
Hope this helps. :)
I watch all your videos hehehe youre so nice
but without Fa, your happy birthday will be in lydian. very avant garde.
That's cool.
