I just noticed it, but when Rusty first confronts 621 in the underground chamber, he is shown like he was the player/protag, and 621 was standing and turning around *exactly* like how Nightfall Raven did. 621 became Raven.
Yea I noticed it first time. Sent a chill down my spine. Made me question what I was doing... hurts me to see him damaged after the fight. Whispering I didn't want this repeatedly. I did not want this.
I did the LoR ending first because Rusty and Ayre were just too precious to me. When I found out he was helping us in the first mission for LoR Ending I legit shouted "LETSGOOOO"
*PCA kill squad arrives* "It's time to pay the piper." *rusty arrives* "Sorry to keep you waiting. I got your back buddy, I hope you have mine." Loved this moment the most.

Can I just point out how cool it is that Rustys Mercenary insignia [spoiler alert] initially is a wolf with a muzzle, and that the muzzle on the insignia is removed once he goes against the corps and fights for the RLF ? I just love how well it characterizes him, and how it symbolizes him fighting for what he believes in instead of what Arquebus tells him to.

From the start, I was anticipating some kind of betrayal later on from Rusty, but I was so glad he escaped our encounter in the cave. I never was so hyped in a game than when he returned in the Ayre ending
Fun Fact: Rusty actually has at least 2 more one-liners (maybe more?) when firing the ORC depending on how much damage you do the Ice Worm. If you do little or maybe no damage the first time for example, Michigan will say "Back to square one". and Rusty will have a different line for when he next shoots the worm. Caught this on a stream, and it was neat to find out. Love this game.

He's pretty much dead in every ending -621 killed him in fires of raven ending -either walter or arquebus killed him in liberator of rubicon ending -there's a high chance that he's killed by all mind while 621 asleep in xylem before the last mission
I would love to see/hear the full japanese version of this because I am willing to bet the actual translation is 'Aibo' which means partner but in a very strong way.
I think since the 3rd ending speeded things up a lot, Rusty didn't switch to his new mech before the last events and simply waiting underground when the "enlighten" happened. So he joined everyone I guess.
He never shows up again in 3rd ending, but there's a chance he gets killed by either All Mind or Walter and Carla. Think about it, the Xylem is still on track to crash the vascular plant, then Rusty would surely show up to stop it like the other 2 endings. Walter and Carla would stop him, while All Mind wouldn't miss the chance to assimilate a talented pilot. He might also get away seeing the ship brought down by All Mind though, we never know.
Since the Allmind ending happens earlier than the other two endings timeline-wise, it's likely Rusty just never got a hold of Steel Haze Ortus before everything happened. The last few missions happen in pretty rapid succession.
