@ this will be my first time every throwing batteries into series. Slowly learning the solar/battery game haha. Started with a few Ecoflow and wanted to dip my toes into the DIY game. So you have any eco-worthy panels? I have the 100 watt, 100 watt bifacial, and 120 watt panels from them
I recently got a different brand of this battery, DcHouse, and everything is identical to this model right down to the paperwork. So far seems a very good unit for this price point.
I also bought 2 of these relabeled DC House. I live in Indiana so let the get below low temp settings and tried to charge. The good news, the BMS shut the charge off at set low temp point. The battery came with the low temp settings at 19.4 F, I set it to 34 degrees. Not sure how accurate the thermistor is, both batteries showed about 4-6 degrees above what my thermometer said. Not sure if the BMS and batteries put out heat when not loaded causing it to be warmer.
for testing the low temp sensor consider unplugging the sensor from the bms. attach it to a piece of metal and put it in the freezer. then quickly take it out and plug it in to do the test. Like you said use the smart app to change and calibrate the sensor values on the smart bms would be the move.
Hi mike, an avid subscriber and fan of your channel :) i hope you can also review the Wattcycle 300AH mini battery with this style of review, (capacity test and teardown). looks like a killer battery mainly because of its compact size. Godbless and thank you :)
I just got 3 of the 165ah version of these a couple of weeks ago. Metal case, low temp and bluetooth as well. They had them on a sale on EBAY for $179 for a few hours. Now up to $189. My first Lifepo4 batteries. Replaced an AGM bank for my off grid home. What a difference! Been super impressed so far. Glad to see a tear down on one of them, thank you!
Nice! Yes they are a great upgrade, ive had really good luck so far with my batteries. Off grid is awesome whats your setup? Ebay always has the best deals for some reason
I know it sounds like a silly question, but could you describe how to install the terminal covers? I got this battery and can't figure it out. Do the terminal bolts need to be unscrewed to install the covers?
I have the 100 AH Battery from Eco Worthy but i dont get it. I have the version without BT Module, and i have a Voltage of 13.2-Volts. The List that came with the Battery says that makes a SOC of 40%. But the app of your Battery says 13.22 volts is a SOC of 76%. I dont get it. I have no Clue if the battery is at 40% or 70%. And i cant charge it really because i only have solar and a Lifepo charger costs me too much at the moment.
@@motorenbastler9289 State of charge based on voltage is not accurate. You have to fully charge it then count the amp hours used to properly know how much you have left.
@@Mikebuildss Yeah i think you are right. But i only have a Victrom charge controller at the moment, and that doesnt show the info. I need some info about SOC. I will buy a smart shunt later.
I bought 4 of them, one of my handle springs crapped out but thats not a huge deal. I plan to charge 4 in series with a victron 150-35. Awesome video
@@rnkustomz Nice man hell yea! I wish I had another 3 for that, but I went with the 280ah big boys to series up

@@SteveDial I’ve seen those , and they are rated higher too right?
@Mikebuildss Yes , they are rated at 165ah.

Glad to hear it at least works, what kind of system are you running the batteries in? Have you had good luck with them so far?
@@Mikebuildss Use them in my RV. Just got them so it is yet to be determined how they work.
how did you set to 34? through the bluetooth app?
@@jm47 Downloaded the Overkill solar app then just changed the "Charge under Temp Trigger Condition". After that just save config.

Good idea! I’ll try that next time.
Looks like that extra pair of with wires goes to a another temperature sensor that shuts off the battery at 75c.
Ahh ok that makes sense
Try the Overkill BMS app with it? 'SM' is a thermal fuse for high temp cutoff.
@@ChrisEpler ahh ok that makes sense, I haven’t seen that in a battery before

@Mikebuildss looking forward to that mega review :) thank youuu
I bought the same battery 8 months ago but mine has pouch sell in them
Interesting, io wonder how those will hold up
Can you link the charger that you use on your LIFEPO-04 batteries please.

you must be sharper than a box of rocks 😂 they just slide on to the plastic part of the terminal

I bought 4 under the same circumstances and reluctantly went for the metal ones. They are nice but weigh about 10# more than the plastic case ones.
They are definitely heavy, I love the metal shell it feels very robust, to me that’s worth a small weight penalty
