- Breakdown of some of the massive concerns around Australia's new Defence legislation that gives the Federal Government more power to call out the military, including provisions that allow for the call out, not just of domestic forces but also foreign military and foreign police forces for operations on Australian soil, and the granting of civil and criminal immunity to those forces while acting in the "good faith" carrying out of "their duties".
Extraordinary timing. Just as a report has been released on Australian forces illegal murdering rampage of innocent civilians in Afghanistan, here’s a bill to extend and expand their use while offering greater indemnity as long as they act in “good faith”. The authoritarian thug criminal state continues to expand its reach.

Foreign troops are handy in case Australian forces don’t want to “use force” on their fellow Australians. Foreign troops won’t have same qualms
The horrific war crimes committed by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan revealed recently should make every Australian politician planning to vote in favour of giving the military civil and criminal immunity ask themselves exactly how they are serving the interests of the Australian people with this Bill

Yes Mary the timing of the bill and lack of media reporting is extraordinary. Lip service paid to the victims of the cowardly, criminal, murdering military psychopaths at one end, while slipping a largely unnoticed bill through to increase the scope and range of military roles and theatres, while offering increased indemnity or immunity from legal processes. Just staggeringly hypocritical, but serving the masters of the military industrial complex very nicely. A good return on the military's investment in wholly owned and servile invertebrate politicians.
