The fact I can download this game and play it for free of of Itch is mind blowing. There's so much attention to detail put into this project. Imagine if this came out in the late 90's and early 2000's. Nothing else would have compared to this game. Props to the demake developer/s. Absolutely top tier!

I love how they changed aspects of the game to fit more with the era, like insight acting almost like stars in Mario 64 and the game feeling more segmented overall. I also can’t believe that free aim wasn’t in the original.
Yeah definitely. I liked the changes that matched how games were during that era. The loading times between locations, insight serving as power stars. It's exactly how a game would be during that time when platformers were huge. This game almost reminded me of Castlevania 64 but if it was actually good

Some guns can do damage, but they take a lot of resources(I forgot what it was called). And free aim is pretty shitty when the moving target is extremely mobile. There is really no point to it.

This puts a massive smile on my face. I wasn't around during the golden age of PS2 or PS1, but being broke for most of my childhood, all I had access to was a PS2 that my dad used to own, so this feels somewhat nostalgic with how old it looks.
I feel you, I used to only be able to play 4 games on my ps2 and most of them I saved up money just to buy the 3. Then for me I was lucky enough to buy a good Ps1 from a garage sale for 10 dollars. I remember playing on it and loved the feels and even seeing demakes like his makes me appreciate what I experienced more and cherish it.
I can't believe somebody sat down and made this and did it in such a way that I would absolutely 100% believe that it was made by a major developer 20 years ago.

Of all the demakes or "PS1-style" games I've seen out there, this is the best-looking one by far. The most "authentic" in graphics, sound, general aesthetics and presentation and game mechanics. The one also with the most effort put into it too. A lot of stuff I've seen on say the PS1 Horror Demo Disc stuff seems seem very one-note, overly simplistic, or doesn't resemble a PS1 game in any way whatsoever. A game like Dread Delusion for example, looks shaping up to be an awesome game but it doesn't look in ANY way like a PS1 title. And there's this one game, I don't remember what it's called, it's Left Wing "Mucho Texto" Meme the Game basically. It stars rats fighting a capitalist system run by cats or something. All the game is is moving around and interacting with characters and reading so much text that you could have spent the same time reading the entirety of In Search of Lost Time five times over. I don't think the creator knew how to cleverly incorporate his politics into the game. World run by "fat cats" and money is "chedda" and the rest is like a bad college essay on The Communist Manifesto longer than The Communist Manifesto itself.

If a game can go back many years of graphics and still feel good you know it's a good game. Demakes are honestly a gem, I kind of like seeing stuff like that for pokemon games.
You know... despite looking old af, this still looks incredibly good. I think graphics are not the only thing to have upgraded since the ps1 era. If this game actually excisted on the ps1 it would have likely been the best game of the ps1.
This is an amazing demake. Not sure if Charlie got to find it but this game also has Old Hunter Henryk and the crow cape lady if you travel back to Gascoigne’s place after re-lighting all the lanterns. You can get both of their sets, it’s great.
While I do appreciate being able to admire all the beatiful artwork in normal bloodborne with clearer lighting I really love how it's actually dark outside in this version. It really adds to the feel of the game here.
During the Gascoigne fight, I imagined what it would've been like to play this game, if it had come out as an actual ps1 game back in the day, and how ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING it would have been to play.
Excellent touch like the inclusion of the Winter Lantern and Gilbert as a boss, which were apparently super-early ideas for Central Yarnham that got cut at some point

Never played Bloodborne, any Souls game, or even a PS1 game, but I can still appreciate the sheet amount of effort and love that went into something like this. Actually incredible work.
This made me nostalgic for games like the original Alone in the Dark and Nightmare Creatures games, still own them as part of my very small collection of PS1 games.
Demakes like this make it really obvious how, even though the graphics these days are much better, there was a beautiful atmosphere to these 'old' games that just isn't around in games these days.
I've seen plenty of demakes that were just CG gameplay trailers, but a proper playable one with a levelling system and old school controls? Now I'm interested.
I've literally just started Bloodborne on PS4. What a game. Frustrating but awesome, and got to the Cleric Beast in just under 3 hours (seen it has taken some people 10 plus hours to do this), but can't beat him at the moment, however i managed to get half his life down on my 2nd go. I still have more to explore around this area so will do this first and hopefully upgrade more before I face him again. For me this is my first souls type game and my interpretation is that it's Hollow Knight (Metroidvania which I've completed) meets Hades (Roguelike - still playing and its also awesome), but in 3rd person. This game has got me hooked, even though you die and repeat alot, but it's fascinating and it will likely take me a long time to complete (family and work commitments plus other games), but I'm up for the challenge.
Remember seeing this on Tik Tok and was just in awe of the clips cause it looked so good and then when he dropped it and I played it for the first time was so surprised, so much attention to detail and also made his own version of the game while still keeping the beautiful spirit of Bloodborne there in that Playstation 1 render. Those pixels and sounds just hit different.
I didn’t even realize it came out already, I’m so excited to try it out now. I adore Bloodborne so much and I love everything about the demake already.
Honestly one of the coolest fan made projects, bloodborne always felt like it was a game that would come out in the 90s considering how much passion and atmosphere was put into it.
I love how the community made a Demake and a 60fps patch for Bloodborne yet Sony haven't officially given us anything since launch. Come on it's a masterpiece it deserves it!
Oh my god it works so well - something about old games and graphics in games like Legacy of Cain or Medevil really work to sell a creepy atmosphere out of very little. Not only does this make Bloodborne feel Nostalgic somehow, but the actual feel of the game just works so dam well in low poly and res graphics.

Free aim? You mean not locking on? That's definitely in the original. I played it to platinum trophy. Some bosses are undoable with locking on.

It seems like a great game, but using the original sound effects is pretty risky, especially since Sony highly values their exclusives.

Charlie not wanting to "waste" vials when he has 18 of them stacked and 3 health left is silly af, they are like the most farmable thing in the game.
I've literally just started Bloodborne on PS4. What a game. Frustrating but awesome, and got to the Cleric Beast in just under 3 hours (seen it has taken some people 10 plus hours to do this), but can't beat him at the moment, however i managed to get half his life down on my 2nd go.
I still have more to explore around this area so will do this first and hopefully upgrade more before I face him again.
For me this is my first souls type game and my interpretation is that it's Hollow Knight (Metroidvania which I've completed) meets Hades (Roguelike - still playing and its also awesome), but in 3rd person.
This game has got me hooked, even though you die and repeat alot, but it's fascinating and it will likely take me a long time to complete (family and work commitments plus other games), but I'm up for the challenge.

Remember seeing this on Tik Tok and was just in awe of the clips cause it looked so good and then when he dropped it and I played it for the first time was so surprised, so much attention to detail and also made his own version of the game while still keeping the beautiful spirit of Bloodborne there in that Playstation 1 render. Those pixels and sounds just hit different.

I didn’t even realize it came out already, I’m so excited to try it out now. I adore Bloodborne so much and I love everything about the demake already.
Honestly one of the coolest fan made projects, bloodborne always felt like it was a game that would come out in the 90s considering how much passion and atmosphere was put into it.

I love how the community made a Demake and a 60fps patch for Bloodborne yet Sony haven't officially given us anything since launch. Come on it's a masterpiece it deserves it!

Oh my god it works so well - something about old games and graphics in games like Legacy of Cain or Medevil really work to sell a creepy atmosphere out of very little. Not only does this make Bloodborne feel Nostalgic somehow, but the actual feel of the game just works so dam well in low poly and res graphics.
The chick who made the demake is cool as fuck too she made a bloodborn kart in ps1 style as well
