Spent a couple of hours watching this, pausing, making changes, then continuing to play the video, then pausing again, making the next set of changes, etc. Really valuable. Thank you.
You put in so much effort just to make one video, it's truly inspiring. All the little comedic moments like picking up the toolbox, doubling up as the audience and yourself etc and having to edit them smoothly into the video along with all the great info, it takes time and planning to do that. Thank you for sharing with us FREE!
Oh honestly, this is just brilliant content. I stayed up late to watch this, I got up early to rewatch and make notes. I salute you. Well done. Inspiring brilliant content.
This is one of the best youtube tuturials I've ever seen. Wes uses the very techniques he is teaching, like the specific number of 62 haha. The guests were especially nice and added to the credibility
I love your content. Learning so much about websites, definitely have so much to implement in mine! This has been such a struggle for my brand. I realized a long time ago what was hurting my business was actually my website
WOW I've only watched 6 minutes and the amount of research and tips based on studies is overwhelming... I see so many visual examples that I already know exactly what i will change in the next 30 minutes. Subscribed +1 and thank you!
Hi Wes!!! Your content is beyond amazing!! The presentation, the knowledge, the effort.. i can go on. I finished the whole content without any boredom. Wow! 👏 👏 thank you for this ❤
Super helpful! I'd love to see something similar, or hear your thoughts on a content site, rather than a services site, and if you feel differently about the layout.
Wes. You’ve done it again! Wow this video was incredible. It must have taken a lot of dedication to create and it certainly shows. Your standard is so high and if your course matches this I will be more than impressed. I’m super ready to jump on board as you are one of the very few if not the only person who talks about content. What to say, where and how. I have one specific question I’d like to ask you about elementor and that is I need to do websites - mine and for future clients in various languages - Is this something you might be able to help me resolve on the course ? I don’t particularly want to use a plugin as translations tend to be so poor, but if I don’t use a plugin what do you recommend ? Thanks
Hi Cecilia! I don't specifically cover websites in different languages, but if you don't like the auto translations, I'm pretty sure there are plugins that will let you provide your own translations you could get from chatgpt or something then jsut check them over yourself.
Fantastic, thank You❤ SO MUCH work has gone into this vid… Bless! Question; what do You think about combining a FAQ section with a BLOG section ? Could folks in more serious / caring professions still do it and be regarded as ethical & professional ?
Loving the content, thank you so much, as I'm going through I'm clicking onto my website and already seeing where I can implement it. What are your thoughts on geotagging images?
Hey Wes! Brilliant vid as usual! Quick question: I do SEO for dental practices, if you don't add the keyword on the hero section, that might affect the SEO of the website. I'd love to add the customization/personalization you taught, but leaving out the keyword + location (e.g. New York + dentist) might have a bad effect on the ranking of my client's website. Any suggestions?
🔥You've hit so many points...'so many' :) The best trap I fella into...'fancy website layouts'. From horizontal scrolling to all kinds of bling. No more :) Our biggest issue from what you say here, and another video is home page hero. We have a couple of vacation home directories....just about everyone has fullwidth image, with text and search bar over...you suggest Headings to left, one image to right....still not sure of this :)
Great video Wes. I'm curious - you don't mention mobile at all - most of my customers come to my website via a Facebook ad and in the past I spent loads of time on a pretty website only for it to very stripped down when viewed on mobile. The hero image won't be seen etc Now I keep it simple - and totally agree with you that keeping info so they just scroll down is the way to go. Many people don't even know how to find the menu items when on a mobile. A good proportion of my targe audience will be over 55 but they are still looking at my stuff on their phones - so no tiny text! Many of them don't even have a laptop or an ipad. I am mindful fitness teacher by the way.
I appreciate all the TIME you put into making your video's so enjoyable and educational to watch! You're not just sitting infant of a camera. As a visual learner...thank you!
Just curious if you think a photo of the owner of the business should be included on the home page? Some say they'd like to see this, some say it doesn't matter. Thanks Wes!
I used to say no, but I'm coming around to the idea more now. I think further down on the page where you introducce yourself and your solution is a natural place for it. I like having a photo of you bc then ppl can see there are real humans behind your business, which is importnat to ppl.
I've definitely incorporated some Storybrand pieces in what I teach... At the end of the day its just classic storytelling, which has always gotten people more interested than facts!
Man this is the video I’ve been looking for do more of these types of videos and more important go In depth oh on the accent colors and how they work in Shopify you know what I mean? Like which ones control Buttons, Background Text and everything and show In real time ok Boy I hope you know what I mean. Thanks your Great at this stuff!❤
I have a question. What if the business already has a WordPress website and just needs a redesign. Would I need to ask the client for the admin information to be able to redesign it for them?
Strawberry Häagen-Dazs is delicious! When I was pregnant, I kept eating strawberry ice cream, and when I tried another brand, it made me sick, then when I looked at the back, I realize Häagen-Dazs only has five simple ingredients. Perfect 🥰
I use to think this too but then went to the analytics and still found that most of our traffic comes from desktop with mobile a close second and tablets a distant 3rd. But that could just be our industry.
@@someone_else... yup - I look at my facebook ads and about 1% are desktop. Meaning if they click the ad they are viewing the website on mobile. 99% of all this advice means little when you’re dealing with a completely different screen real estate environment
Ok well just replace the word posh with professional. Ppl are very turned off my amateurish looking sites bc it makes them feel like their service will be amateurish too. Its called the Halo Efect.
One more thing -- do you have a checklist of all of this information for us to follow? There’s so much here, that would also be a fantastic lead magnet for you.
It may seem somewhat sad that people always judge the book by its cover, but it is so, even when it comes to some intellectual work, not design or visuals.
As a Dane I'm proud of our capital city Copenhagen, so when you show people on bikes in Copenhagen, I notice it, but I would never myself connected Häagen-Dasz with Copenhagen or Denmark... I think it has more of a Dutch ring to it, also they have a city called Den Haag. Ice cream is however pretty "hot" in Denmark with lots of small independent high quality producers, and Nyhavn in center of Copenhagen where the picture is from is a very cosy place.
I can honestly say just by looking through allof my google analytics properties it really depends on the industry, or type of site. But I see mostly an 90 mobile 9 desktop and 1% tablet. @@WesMcDowellInc

Wes, have you been taking the CXL courses? I assume you took the CRO Minidegree. Something else? Where did you first hear about them?
No Jacobo, I didn't know about those. I do love CXL's blog though... its where I get a lot of my research.
@@WesMcDowellInc Ah yes, the old CXL blog. Very good. They rebranded that blog when creating the institute.
Noticed a typo on the last sample website at the end - "Why Parter With EM Group" should be "Why Partner With Us".
Wouldn’t call that a typo, just a different way of saying it.
Another trend with the CTA buttons are those lopsided trapezoid buttons that wiggle and dance. Not only does it look bad, it screams template to me.

90% of websites are accessed on a mobile device - the desktop layout is not as relevant anymore

This is why you OPTIMIZE your website for mobile as well, using the same suggestions as Wes.

Do you think images created in Chat GPT are okay? Does it have to be absolutely lifelike to be acceptable?
Yea human images still look pretty cartoonish in chatgpt, but try midjourney. Much more realistic!
