That one mother that won't make her kid get out of the doctor's chair, and just sat there watching him taking over the doctor's office without saying a word drove me CRAZY!!!!!
I know right? My child or Grandchild would of caught heck from me for that. First time I'd explain you need to get out of the Dr.s chair please. Wouldn't ask 2nd time she herself needs to be taught some manners & respect herself.
Thank you! That made me angry. I thought it would be a given to get your child out of the doctor’s chair! Even when they left, she walked ahead of him and left him running behind.
I like how the doctors ask the patients if they find the suggestion for treatment reasonable and if they want to proceed with that plan. Very wise! I also admire how mental health is incorporated in with the physical care. They really do consider the whole patient. We could learn from that.
My first daughter had to have blood test daily when she was three due to iron levels, my second daughter was extremely sick at age six and my third was born with chronic lung disease. My only son was a premature Bub, but between 20 and almost 40 years they are all doing well thanks to my wonderful doctors and specialists, thank you 💜
He’s got medical PTSD. It’s awful in little kids. Poor kiddo. I’m a paediatric nurse, and have a number of young patients like him. It’d hard on us and harder on the parents.
Poor little one I can totally relate with him. I was a preemie & both of my eardrums ruptured by the time I was a month old. Neither of my Eustachian Tubes weren't fully developed from being born so early. I had 20+ surgeries including skin grafts to give me eardrums until they finally took the grafts from the right part of my body. I do have a moderate hearing loss from the scarring. But I used to cry loudly until the stick & then stop. Because as many of you know certain meds hurt worse than the needles. Like pain meds, numbing meds,. I had to iron injections because i had problems producing enough red blood cells for about 2 years. Then after I had my first child I had to receive a shot in each hip in order to be able to go home after 3 days. But I can still remember crying & begging for them not to stick me. .Then once I got stuck I'd just get silent & honestly I think it scared them when I got so quiet. I'd get a gold star on my wrist bracelet. My mom said she never could figure out why they just didn't give me an IV? I'd always be on antibiotics injectables 3 or 4 times a day for at least a week after surgeries because I'd always get an infection after every surgery.. I will tell you one thing they didn't believe in giving children pain meds after surgeries either. I still rock in my bed or a chair when my pain levels are high. I still remember my last major ear surgery. It was 60 years ago the day after Christmas. Both myself & my younger (by 2 years) sister were admitted Christmas Day which sucked it meant no holiday meal for us. She had her tonsils & adnoise out & I had mine both out for the 3rd time they kept growing back & I had a radical mastiodectomy on the right ear & bilateral skin grafts to give me ear. When they removed the packing from the right side where they'd gone in & cleaned out the damaged & softened bones from nonstop chronic infection on that side it took 3 adults to hold me down because it hurt so bad. I can remember waking up bawling from night terrors of dreaming about it. They removed that packing & repacked that mastoid site every day until I went home & never gave me anything for that pain. They used to think children wouldn't remember it. Well I can tell you plain& simple bullshit. I'll be 65 next month & I still have night terrors from that. I've had 2 babies without any drugs. I passed 4 big kidney stones at home without meds until afterwards. Then he gave me 2 tylenal 2s a day until I passed 6 more stones in 3 days. Kind of like peeling on a forest fire. Last 2 stones passed together & I passed out & fell & hit my head. So then they put me in the hospital. That's when they freaked because I was losing so much blood in my folley & I had a sever concussion & 18 stitches to close the head wound. Needless to say they still didn't want to appologised for screwing up big time. But my insurance company refused to pay a dime on the bill. They told them it was caused by thier errors they could eat the bill. Later down the road I found out they were suppose to pay me an award but by the time I found out to much time had passed. So heart goes out to that little boy big time. They can use a tiny bit of numbing meds to avoid the trauma & pain of blood test & even shots just a tiny bit of numbing meds & the cost of the syringes could remove a lot of pain on little ones when thier young & chronically ill children.
The British have no idea how lucky they are. I can't tell you how many times I've had to stay up all night making sure fevers went down or asking family members if they had any left over antibiotics, I've even stitched up my kids. When I absolutely had to take them we would have to not get enough groceries or make other sacrifices to pay for the kids doctors appointments. It is SO stressful in an already stressed situation. Here you don't go to the doctors unless you're really sick and only to the Emergency if you're dying!!
I just have to comment and ask a couple of questions, are these doctors and nurses being extra nice and accommodating because they're being filmed or are the doctors and nurses in your country actually like they're portrayed here? I'm absolutely dumbfounded and extremely amazed watching this series, I live in the USA and I'm 58 years old and have NEVER seen or been to a doctors office where patients/people are treated like you all treat patients/people.... I want to move to your country if this is the "norm" for patient/doctor interaction! I watch this series with my mouth hanging open in shock at how incredibly patient, kind, empathetic you all are!!!!! I sit here suffering for years with no help at all because I have no insurance, the medical establishments here in the USA don't care about patients, only making money. Dr. Jewell is a stitch lol. Any single lonely men there that would move me there? LOL
I’m with you on that one. I stopped going to the Dr completely after being treated so poorly and how they failed my Mother. It would be nice to get a Dr that listens and has empathy if nothing else. I’m sorry you’re being mistreated by doctors as well.
im in Canada and my doctor and his nurses and receptionists are totally amazing always smiling and very up beat its great even if your sick they make sure there is always a smile im hoping these doctors are like this always hugsss
All Drs I’ve seen in the UK are like this. I now live in the US and often feel like a burden to some of the doctors I’ve seen. Like I’m in the way, they rush in the door, and rush out and leave me sitting there. Drs in the UK come and fetch you, they hold the door for you, they’ll take your vitals and sometimes Drs in the UK can feel like you’re talking to an old friend. It’s the love of the job. Now don’t get me wrong there are probably some grumpy Drs in the UK I can’t speak for them all I’ve never met one but no doubt there are some. And no doubt there’s some nice Drs in the US but I’ve not found one I’m comfortable with yet 😂
I am an American. At age 73, looking back, I have had very few insensitive doctors. In those couple cases, I simply did not return. My experience has been to have very professional, yet personable doctors, who are very well trained. I feel badly for anyone whose medical care has been different. I do understand, just based on those couple who were obviously poor listeners, were obviously bored, doing a job s/he really did not enjoy and who should have definitely been doing something else in life.
I'm a retired registered nurse. When I saw that rash on Jonathan I felt that it's a contact dermatitis. Usually caused by a plant, or some kind of chemical contact. Possibly even sprayed on the grass or bushes.
Not in Canada...one shot at 2 mths, 4 mths, 6 mths, a year, and before kindergarten. We do not repeatedly stab, and stab, flip, stab, and stab an infant! We have one of the world's best immunity records...so, obviously not anything more than convenience on the part of the NHS to cram them all into one horrific and traumatic experience. We are also not the United States and anti- vaccine for our children. We just handle it completely differently, and yes, to me, this seems cruel!
That poor mom with the child who has medical issues. Appointments all the time medications that have negative effects and a little boy who has had enough. Been there I know the exhaustion mom must. Ffeel
I found it to be quite rude for the mother to allow her son to not get out of the dr's chair. I know its petty for me to feel this way but as a mother myself I feel you have to correct a child of the small disobedience at the time of the action. I personally think he should have been told to get out of the chair so the adult could sit down. He is doing his job and the mother should have been doing her job by having him move. Just my opinion , children will be children and they learn by us as parents teach them respect early on. 🙂
Not petty at all That Mama was more preoccupied with her child’s genitalia size than his manners. I could never allow my child to put a grown person out of their own seat especially in their own office. 🤯
I agree. I don't see it as disobedience bc he was not warned ahead of time not to sit in the chair. I see it as failing to teach manners, social graces, and respect for adults. It takes effort and especially consistency, but is well worth it. You are giving your child skills that will be helpful throughout life. It will help him make friends. He will be respected. Adults won't inwardly groan when they see the child come. These skills will be invaluable. I feel like some young parents think kids raise themselves, or that they somehow all of a sudden do what they should when they are a little older. I don't understand it. That is just my opinion, offered VERY RESPECTFULLY.
You're 100% correct. How hard is it to say "Let the doctor have his chair back" or "Come sit on my lap so the doctor can sit down" or "Get up, that's the doctor's chair"? With such horrible parenting, isn't any wonder there are so many entitled brats walking around?
Maybe he didn’t because he saw that she was a tad anxious about doing everything right and didn’t want to put additional pressure on her to do more when she is a first time mum when the baby is still very young...
I have a grandson whose skin looked like this lil guy keynami. They tried all kinds of things. In the end, he needed vitamin D and it cleared right up! He’s never had it break out again and he’s a teen now. Just an idea if you find your child has exema looking skin.
I heard it mentioned on another one if these episodes that people with pigmentation can suffer from vitamin d deficiency..same as ppl without pigmentation do in the north, the winter time
30:44 4 jans in one go is too traumatic I feel for the child … to the NHS … Consider separating these hurtful shots … the next child is fearful already …
That one mother that won't make her kid get out of the doctor's chair, and just sat there watching him taking over the doctor's office without saying a word drove me CRAZY!!!!!
Yup Betty terrible parenting!!
Very rude, she never took any of the hints either. 🙄
I know right? My child or Grandchild would of caught heck from me for that. First time I'd explain you need to get out of the Dr.s chair please. Wouldn't ask 2nd time she herself needs to be taught some manners & respect herself.

Poor scared kymani. So much for a little guy. Our world is not fair. Hope as he gets older. He will understand.
Poor little guy crying (with the medical issues), hurts my heart 🙁😢
Me too! Virtual Hugs ❣
He was so cute 🥰
Poor little man..... spending time in hospital when you're so young must be really scary..... I sincerely hope he gets better!
He’s got medical PTSD. It’s awful in little kids. Poor kiddo. I’m a paediatric nurse, and have a number of young patients like him. It’d hard on us and harder on the parents.

That baby girl is gorgeous!

Oh that precious Keynami. He’s so scared and feels horrible. I hope he’s well as can be now!
It pains me on immunization day for the wee little ones. 4 shots in the legs.... OUCH .. Poor lad.. I'm crying with ya.
Luckily my kids pediatrician has 2 nurses to do shots. And they are super quick!
@alicerodriguez do u have any kids ?reply
I never talk on here but that one little man with the autoimmune issues broke my heart!! I just want to hug him and his momma ..

Seeing the children is so touching! Again, an excellent episode!
How many needles did that poor boy need!!! Broke my Heart 💜
1 year vaccines are usually the most. :/

I love this episode. It's making me smile.
aw it was really heart wrenching to watch the little boy get his vaccinations. love vaccinations as a whole though to prevent much worse suffering.
I never in my life heard of getting stabbed with four shots at once for standard vaccines. I was thoroughly appalled!
@@MsK-xm7vw doesnt take much to apall you then as this has been standard for decades...
