    I've watched six or eight of these videos on this subject and your's is by far the best of them. My parts are on order and my fingers are crossed. Thanks for the instruction.

      @@christophercorbett7307 I installed new Harbot carb on Husky 455, changed all hoses, primer bulb, plug. Adjusted high out half turn, but still not wanting to idle and bogs down when squeezing throttle. There were 2 gaskets that came with carb, but the rubber on the intake still looked good. Is there a standard generic starting position for adjusting screws?

    • @Dieselhorses

      Correction, I adjusted LOW side out half turn.

    Thank you. I got the grommets handled they did great. Installed new carb off Amazon, Chinese junk. Saw overspeeds and is unadjustable. Will be returning that. Do you have a source for a decent carb?

    • @christophercorbett7307
      @christophercorbett7307  8 місяців тому

      It's unadjustable? There should be an idle screw adjustment, along with two small flat head adjusting screws. They'll have a plastic guard on them. Just pop them off.

    • @z-man1763
      @z-man1763 8 місяців тому

      The caps are off. Used a 20 spline tool. By unadjustable I meant turning the screws made no difference with RPM teaching so high I thought I would blow the cylinder, this was with no throttle. I closed them fully, opened 1 1/4 for both along with the idle screw. Still full Rev. I pulled the carb today and checked the tool directly on the adjustment screws to be sure. That's why I felt the carb is no good and asked for another supplier source. Thanks again.

      You need to richen the mixture. The low side screw (closest to the engine) turn it out (counter clockwise) this will bring idle down. The problem could be an air leak which simulates a lean condition.

    • @robludwigsen7831
      @robludwigsen7831 Місяць тому

      You might have an air leak on the back of the carb to the rubber boot

    Really good video. Question. Is the fuel hose you used all the same size?

    • @christophercorbett7307
      @christophercorbett7307  4 місяці тому

      Yes sir it is. I use what will fit most tightly without pinching. Helps reduce chances of leakage as the lines harden

      I use these. They are a little more aggravating to install than the OEM grommets. However, they're better because they fit much tighter.

    You are doing with one hand what I struggle to do with two. I've watched all the youtube vids on this job, yours is so far ahead of the rest. The kill wire switch setup had me puzzled. But after a bit of study I think I have it now. I subscribed, and upvoted your video. Since I now rarely use the saws, I am considering going electric and keeping only one gas saw. Would you care to comment on that idea?

    • @christophercorbett7307
      @christophercorbett7307  2 місяці тому

      @@Larry-d3i I sure appreciate your support!! If you're going to buy electric, buy whatever good brand in closest to you. Whether it's Stihl, Husqvarna, Milwaukee, etc. You need to buy from where you can most easily get parts.
      They are good until you use them beyond what they are intended for. Quick cutting up of small trees/limbs and they do fine.

    I was thinking of putting a kit in the carb I took off, but only if you do a video on it. I don't trust anybody else. I am going to try to replace the carb and lines on an old Poulan Wild Thing 2375, hope to get enough help from youtube videos.

      @Larry-d3i I may have one in the pile. If I do ill do a carb swap on it. Just make sure you make hole in tank bigger so you can run the bigger fuel line.

      @@christophercorbett7307 I'm not knocking these other guys doing videos. But what novices like me need is a step by step how to guide like you posted. It's obvious most of them are trying to figure it out as they go. I tried to get ahead of you once in this video, it didn't work and I had to backtrack. I saw a good tip on Amazon on the Chinese carbs. I used a dremel to cut a slot in the needles so they cut be adjusted with a screwdriver. There was no limiter on the one I got. It's doing just fine.

      @Larry-d3i yes sir. They make you have to use these odd ball tools to adjust them. Can never go wrong with a good ol flat head!!

      @@christophercorbett7307 I bought a Chinese knock off a few years ago called an X Bull. It's cheap junk, but has some good qualities too. That sucker cold cranks on the first pull real easy with a spring loaded wind up starter and runs strong and smooth. Chain oil leaks, to get to the purge lines you have to take the thing aparr, chain brake won't stay off, choke won'tstay pulled out, but it is a 62cc 18 inch bar and it has never failed me. $130 Vs about 400 for a husky.
