The "actual" Barcelona play is the same. This is the famous "Total Football" of Ajax and Holland in '70's.Cruyff took this play in Spain in 1988.The Guardiola's Barcelona is the same of this, but with "better" player(players of 1994 was very strong too), like Iniesta,Messi and Xavi, the really master of Barcelona.
Pep's team played more short passes and often played in the half space. Other than that it's basically the same philosophy. Cruyff was his teacher after all.
It wasn't him either, it was Marinus Michels, Cruyff's coach in Ajax, Barcelona and the Dutch national team. He got the idea from the 1950's Hungarian national team (The Mighty Magiars) and from South American teams and then improved it, and so did Cruyff and then others like Van Gaal, Rijkaard,Gullt,Van Basten and now Guardiola,Sergi Barjuan, Albert Ferrer and many other former disciples of Cruyff.
They've been playing like that non-stop since 1988, even before they tried to have a passing game style in the 50's-60's and then in the mid 70's and early 80's...but there were too many attempts and they had the need to win titles. Right now they can say they have a defined way to play, a conception of the game of their own for over 25 years.
@bundfnd true the basics are still there: backs stay very wide and central backs play very deep in the field. also a lot of movement and more of a 3-5-2 system
The players coming at 2:14 is Guardiola. Guardiola has had a good teacher (Cruijff). His football is similar that great Ajax played on seventeen. Bravo Guardiola.
His name was; Tony Bruins Slot, Johan's assistent. And later Koeman's assistent. The Dream Team wouldn't have happened without him. He died a few days ago aged 75, may he RIP.

This is not Tiki Taka, not the same passing style barca plays today, which is tiki taka, this is just simply 'Passing'. Tiki taka has more frequent back passes to the player who initially started the move.
So boring to watch and most of the pointless! I can't believe teams get beat by them. Also it doesn't make a manager a genius all it means is he has the world's best players
Johan Cruyff student - pep guardiola -pep students -iniesta , xavi ,mikel arteta .
Does that make Cruijff a student of Michels then?
Luis Enrique, van gall , Koeman...
Xavi Students: Gavi, Pedri, Ferran
Pep students :messi
It's crazy because this 15 years later, the way Barçelona plays is SO SIMILAR.
Hello, 27 years right now.
What a pass from Guardiola. Simply genius
3-4-3 is the best formation. Cruijff's version is the best of the best!
It`s incredible that they played with three at the back and the wide defenders even pushed forward ;-)
Barcelona are probably playing a 3-4-1-2 this year
AND THIS FORMATION STILL SAVING BARCELONA IN 2021
this tactic was vulnerable at counter attacks and set piece defense. Santander and R. Madrid won 5-0, and Zaragoza won 6-3
@@RafsanS15 I always wondered why is this Formation vulnerable to counter attacks, could you please explain? Thanks.

@bundfnd true the basics are still there: backs stay very wide and central backs play very deep in the field. also a lot of movement and more of a 3-5-2 system
@bundfnd Because Johan Cruyff lives in Barcelona and has always been the advisor of the club. To bad people don't listen to him here in Amsterdam.
The players coming at 2:14 is Guardiola. Guardiola has had a good teacher (Cruijff). His football is similar that great Ajax played on seventeen.

We did it 2015 Uefa champion league winners
This Is Great.
@bundfnd Guardiola is the man implementing it now. Guardiola was the one who made the connection for the assist to that goal. =)
omg Guardiola looks young here :)
TikiTaka - We destroyed the Catenaccio !
Prachtige beelden!! Je kunt duidelijk zien van wie Guardiola het vak geleerd heeft.
rinus michels is underrated
Tiki Taka = 5-0 anytime anywhere
