In this video the greatest player of all time is explaining his philosophy about the dutch national team and advantages and disadvantages. Build up and defending qualities.
If you’re not sure what he’s saying. Rewatch it again. Cruijff was a very smart man, for him its all familiar for his understanding.
He was way beyond his time. A visionary genius.
Most intelligent analyst and teacher of the game.
It gives me goosebumps knowing how genius this man is .
Learnt so much from this vid trying to become a future manager

For the record: this is from 2008, and hes basically explaining how man City etc play today.
It can never understated how Cruijff had the highest football IQ of all time.

The onr and only legend ❤♥️❤

Cruyff basically saying that Double pivot doesn't allow how to play fluid football and he is just speaking facts. Barca never played well with double pivot, it's crazy how things he said many years ago still hold up today
That's actually not what he's saying I think. maybe you are infering that, but I don't think he ever makes the implication that it cannot be fluid.
Not what he meant. Because he did play with a double pivot, maybe not two midfielders. But he used to invert players like Pep and most coaches do today. It's about angles
He is saying you can't/shouldn't play with two 6's in his point of view. You can have two pivots who rotate like a de Zerbi whereby one player comes short and the other goes further up.
As others have said, it is about timing and angles above all else.
Even Cruyff knew that Robben is unreplaceable , so you may cry like a baby or do another tactic, cuz hell there aint no players who can play like Robben
The greatest....better than Marodona or Pele..
Facts
Pruffff
Certainly not as a player. As a manager, YEAH
@williamsfranklyn9275 better as Pelé and Naradoo, yeah the real goat
The best
Is liverpool build up through alexander-arnold what Cruyff mean when he said it's wrong to build up with fullback?
That's what I was thinking.
He said it's his perspective.
He said buildup is bad but good to attack with fullback and I think it's nothing different with Arnold he attacks more than being a part of buildup
@@kumarkshitij8104 I can't agree with you. he clearly said it's wrong to pass to wing defender in built up since your entire wing will be blocked. However Alexander Arnold makes diagonal passes to opposite flank after receiving ball just in the build up.
No Cruyff is saying that you shouldn't built up from the left or right back positions because you're stuck in that corner. There's not much options you have from there to pass. The way inverted backs play, is them moving into midfield, that's something different and thats something Cruyff does like and also did with his Barca Dream Team in the 90s. Guardiola wasn't the one doing that for the first time with Cancelo lol. Cruyff did that in the 90s where he told fullbacks to position themselves into midfield when receiving the ball and to quickly pass it on.
14n safe.
