Not many views or likes on this, but please keep it up. It’s right up my alley. And I know it will finds its audience over time. This console wasn’t even on my radar, but now I know how to mod it…so maybe?
Great info in general though. I get scared away from modding stuff the moment I see ICs, so it’s cool to see this whether I end up getting a big or not.

Very much enjoying this series, I am. I hear a difference between the modded and stock channels. It sound bigger and clearer but I'm wondering if a level difference isn't skewing my perception. Would love to hear a level-matched recording of acoustic guitar through the same mic setup.

Man, I wanted to start a channel like this, now I don’t have to! 😆This side of audio engineering is fading faster than I thought, few have any interest in understanding the nuts and bolts of our tools.

Can you hear much difference between Nichicon Gold and Muse???

I haven’t done any listening tests to compare these. I primarily look for caps with long life ratings, low ESR, and often low impedance. IMO electrolytic caps all sound bad, so it’s a matter of choosing the lesser evil.
