I think it's more that comedians utilize UA-cam to put up crowd work content, both to attract attendees to their comedy shows/specials (who discover them on UA-cam), but also in order to avoid having to rewrite their sets every few weeks-people won't find your standup much fun IRL if they've already heard all your material online.
