This was excellent. I really like the idea of a vacuum sealed bag instead of a packing cubes.
I remember traveling with Fronteier with only one backpack (before kids) and it was extremely easy and efficient.
Hi Katrina! Thank you so much for your feedback! In my personal experience I have only ever needed one vacuum sealed bag to contain all my clothes for a trip, with compression packing cubes most times I will need two which results in more space needed anyway, hence why I love vacuum bags.
And with regards to traveling with children as a minimalist, my husband and I have thought about the challenges for when we think about trying to grow our family in the next couple of years, if you have any tips feel free to drop them here! 🫶🏼
This is so impressive, literally my goal when it comes to minimalism. I'm amazed you fit so much with so much space left over! (Also i love murakami 😭)
Hi Kat! Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed my video and hopefully it will help with your future one bag travels! Also my husband introduced me to Murakami, this was the first collection of short stories I have read of his and I loved it! 🫶🏼
@@MinimallyAnnabel would highly recommend Kafka on the Shore and Norwegian Wood, as well as After Dark!
Thank you!
Omg, love your video, keep posting, very aesthetic and calming to Watch
Hi Igor! Thank you so much! Your kind words are super encouraging to keep me posting! 🫶🏼
Hi Annabel! I am loving your content! I am very intrigued by your Altoid tin first aid kit! I would love to see your minimalist wardrobe at some point and I look forward to the three week travel trip packing video! Thanks for sharing with us!
Hi Natalie! Thank you so much! My Altoid tin first aid kit goes with me everywhere, it’s a handy size 😅 and I’m planning on doing a minimalist wardrobe video when I’m back from my 3 week trip! 🫶🏼
Great job. This video gave me hope that I can pack lighter. I really, really want to travel with only a personal item bag!
Hi! I’m so glad this video has given you that hope, I’m certain that you can do it! Thank you for watching! 🫶🏼
love your content so far!! keep going 🙌🏼🙌🏼🥂🥂
Hi Monique! Thank you so much! 🫶🏼
Thanks from this brand new subscriber who is always looking for great tips to pack carry on only...now for the second year in a row! 😊❤
Hi Heather! Love that you’ve gone 2 years without checking in luggage! Thank you so much for subscribing, so happy to have you here! 🫶🏼
Very well done video. Your voice is so calming.
Hi Michael! Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed my video 🫶🏼
This so minimalist! Using the same backpack for a weekend in Vegas today!
Hi Collin! Thank you! Have a wonderful time in Vegas! 🫶🏼
I’ve also just started making travel videos! You do pack much more minimally than me though I do pack a few more items due to health issues. So great to watch! Well done! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Natalie! Thank you so much for your feedback! I feel that when it comes to minimalism everyone’s ‘baseline’ of how minimalist they can be is subjective, due to things they can’t control, like the need for medication/equipment due to health issues. So if you have a few more items for health issues, then I would say you pack just as minimally as I do! I could strip back on a few more items myself, but I got enjoyment and use out of everything I brought on this trip. And I’ll be sure to check out your videos too! 🫶🏼
@minimallyannabel yes! So true! Perhaps I have a little bit of packing envy as I *wish* I could pack for a 4 day trip in just an 18l bag! My last 4 day trip this past weekend I was around 32l between two bags. One of the bags served as my day bag once I arrived. All the best to you!
reminded me of a time i packed for a trip to Medan, Indonesia. loved it , thanks for sharing
Hi! My next trip is actually to Bali, Indonesia and also KL, Malaysia. I’ll be using this same bag for the 3 week trip! I’m glad you liked my video, thank you! 🫶🏼
@MinimallyAnnabel omg yey ! Any chance you have Singapore in this list too ? 🤭 cant wait for the vlog!!
Unfortunately we don’t have time to visit Singapore for this trip! But it was definitely considered! And thank you, the video will be uploaded on Friday 🫶🏼
You could make your pack even lighter if you utilize multi-use items like a charging cable with multiple plugs or those 3-in-1 charging docks that fold. For some of your liquids, there are reusable containers that are more compact.
Hi Yukia! We have several plugs and cables at home already so I’d prefer not to purchase more until my current ones no longer work. But when that happens I’ll keep in mind to replace them with multi-use ones like you mentioned! I also have a lot of the reusable containers for liquids, I just didn’t bother to switch them as the trip was so short! 😅 Thank you for your comment with great ideas and for watching! 🫶🏼
This is amazing, I aspire to get your level and I love your classy style! Can you do a vid for warmer weather? I.e. going on holiday to a resort? Thanks!
Hi! Thank you! Please check out my packing for 3 weeks in SE Asia, this is for that type of weather 🫶🏼
I liked your first aid kit!
Hi Sa Pa! Thank you! 🫶🏼
Eu simplesmente AMEIIII esse vídeo! Alem de me inspirar a ser cada vez mais minimalista, o video me deixou bem relaxada!! OBRIGADA! Faça sempre que puder! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Olá Caroline! Obrigado por suas palavras encorajadoras e gentis! Estou feliz que meu vídeo tenha inspirado você! Usei o Google Tradutor, então espero que minha resposta faça sentido 🫶🏼
❤
That’s quite impressive. I always end up lugging a small cabin suitcase on week long trips, so I’m hoping that I can challenge myself to pack in a backpack for my next trip
Hi Autumn! I’m sure you can travel with just a backpack for future travels soon, wishing you all the best with it! Thank you so much for watching! 🫶🏼
My minimalism isn't most people's. But I try on the rare occasion of travel. Lol. But I am definitely trying vacuum seal bags next time! Tfs
Hi! I love vacuum seal bags! Thanks for watching 🫶🏼
Impressive!!! Wow
Hi Amanda! Thank you! 🫶🏼
Thank you for sharing. It would be good to have the weight of the bag before and after it is packed as some airlines have both size and weight restriction.
Hi! Some people have asked for the weight, but honestly in all the travel I have done I have never been asked to weigh my backpack! I don’t have a device to weigh it but I’m pretty certain it is under 15lbs/7kgs (the usual weight restriction). Thanks for watching! 🫶🏼
Impressive! I just watched your minimalist handbag video and saw your nano speedy there too. Would love a video on your minimalist handbag collection and slgs. And how do you keep your hands so pretty if you’re not carrying around a ton of hand cream?! It’s always an issue for me.
Hi Stephanie! Thank you for watching this video also! I have such a tiny handbag collection 😅 but I’ll maybe do a video on this soon!
And for my hands, when I moisturize my face I just rub in what’s left on my hands together so I don’t need to carry a separate cream. I use PanOxly Oil Control with SPF 30, I have a very oily skin type just generally so the humidity and warmth in Florida keeps my hands soft. Back home in London I used to carry a hand cream because it’s so cold! DC was also such a short trip so I didn’t feel like I needed another extra cream 🫶🏼
У Вас красивые руки😊
Hi! Thank you! 🫶🏼
Please make more videos!
Hi Gemma! I’m planning to upload new videos every 1-2 weeks, thank you so much for watching! 🫶🏼
Great, looking forward to watching more
Nice, didn't know nail cutters were ok. I hated not having one when a hangnail bothered me.
But I always wonder why not many travelers bring slippers or sandals for their accommodations. Some hotels provide those thin cloth slippers with rubber soles, but I bring my own rubber shower slides for general use when not in shoes. Am a germaphobe when it comes to a place that isn't my own, but most especially door handles, light switches, tv remotes, sinks, toilets, and showers.
Hi! I never had an issues with nail cutters, but I’m the same when is comes to hangnails! I’m okay with wearing my socks in hotels but I know many people who also travel with slippers too in case the hotel doesn’t offer anything. And with the germs I also feel the same, but I always make sure to wash my hands before eating and that gives me peace of mind! Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🫶🏼
Ooh where did you get the shampoo/conditioner bar? I have a hard time finding ones that feel good on my hair
Hi! I got it from Amazon, the brand is LOLE’S and the one I have is with argan oil. Unfortunately, it does contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which is an ingredient used to create the lather/foaming effect. For the moment my hair has not dried out from using this bar, but I am keeping an eye out for any changes! This probably won’t be suitable for dry hair types (mine is oily) as the conditioning in this bar isn’t that strong. I’m also on the hunt for the perfect shampoo/conditioning bar, but this one is not quite there, sadly. Thank you for commenting and I hope that helps! 🫶🏼
Dont forget a pack of gum for take off and landing.
Hi DeeDee! Personally, I prefer to have sugar free mints for this purpose, I ran out during the time of filming this video and totally forgot to mention it! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! 🫶🏼
Where do you purchase the vacuum sealed bags from- excellent idea!
Hi! From Amazon, here is the link! 🫶🏼

Nice video. Can you do your beauty routine video?
Hi Huong! Thank you! Sure, I’ll try to add this to my list! 🫶🏼
Love to know the specific La Roche Posay items…
Hi Katy! Here are the links on Amazon for the La Roche Posay products I use! 🫶🏼
1. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Dermatological 3 Step Acne Treatment System: a.co/d/fxT9E3P
2. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment a.co/d/aBmuxu7
What brand are your straighteners? I've wanted some travel ones for a while!
Hi! I got them from Amazon, this is the link: Wavytalk Mini Flat Iron 0.7 Inch... www.amazon.com/dp/B09CGK36WN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share 🫶🏼
Where is your shampoo/conditioner bar from? Thanks!
Hi Abi! It is by a brand called LOLE’S here is the link on Amazon: LOLE'S Shampoo Bar & Conditioner... www.amazon.com/dp/B07CW25GN2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Please note that this bar contains sulfates and I have actually stopped using this bar for a few months now. I’m currently using bars by KITSCH, which are much better and totally sulfate free! Here is the link to their website: www.mykitsch.com/
Hope that helps! 🫶🏼
For spirit the personal item is one item. Do you find you can also bring a purse? I was under the impression it was one personal item that includes a purse, small bag, etc. maybe spirit doesnt care if the purse is small?
I should also say, great video! Love the vacuum bag idea. 😊
Hi Kristina! I always found that a really tiny purse has been okay for me with Spirit, most times I don’t think they can see mine 😅 but I wouldn’t carry one that was bigger just in case! I just prefer to have a small one to carry my valuables. And thank you for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed my video! 🫶🏼
Wow! Where did u get the bag for ur clothes?
Hi Nesmeralda! Here is the link for the vacuum bags: a.co/d/f0SFTkK 🫶🏼
I really like this kind of content.
Have I understood correctly, you only have/take leggings and use them as your main bottoms, even in restaurants?
Hi! Yes, that’s correct because my husband and I don’t go to restaurants that don’t allow us to wear casual clothing haha 😂
We only dine out at a really nice restaurants for special occasions and I find that in the US you can dress so much more casually, compared to where I’m from in London.
Honestly, we find eating out at expensive restaurants to be a complete waste of money.
Thanks for your question and I’m glad you like my content! 🫶🏼
You should visit Germany, women only wear leggings all the time
@@BustaDeluxe This is not true at all.
@@Woeschhuesli why do you think this is not true?
@@BustaDeluxe It is only true in as far as coloured leggings are often worn under tunics, skirts and dresses (as do I) as is also popular in other parts of Europe; it‘s not an athleisure culture like the US. My qualifications? I am half German, I live 20 min from the German border and travel all over frequently, I have many relatives and friends there and from there and I have eyes in my head… That‘s why.
How do you vacuum seal the bag?
Hi! You simply seal the bag and at the end of the bag there is a one way valve for the air. You push all the air out without the need for a vacuum to actually suck the air out. I got them from Amazon, here is the link: a.co/d/7JAlnPB
I hope that helps! 🫶🏼
Do you carry this minimal amount through your home life?
Hi! I would say pretty much, we own our home and we only really have necessary furniture and a hand full of decorative items. With clothes too, I would say we have a minimal amount but enough to cover all weather types! Thanks for watching! 🫶🏼
@@MinimallyAnnabel May I ask if you were this way inclined before you moved overseas? I wondered if undertaking such a big moved made you really par down to what was most important to you? I know we had a good sort out when we left London three years ago and we only moved to Sussex!
Hi! Yes, in fact my minimalist journey began in 2018. It started before I met my husband when I wanted to get serious about getting on to the London property ladder. Along with serious saving, I loved all the benefits that came with minimalism; less stress and being better for the environment. As a result I bought my flat in June 2020 in the early stages of COVID, by myself I must add!
But now it’s sold, along with all its furniture (I didn’t have much anyway) and I now share a home in Florida with my husband. I moved to Florida with only one suitcase and a backpack! 😅
Thanks for your question! 🫶🏼
First minimalist I've seen carry 7 cosmetic products for a 4 night trip lol
Hi! Everyone is different and have different needs! Thanks for watching! 🫶🏼
What color is this kanken backpack??
Hi! It’s in navy 🫶🏼
Red
What's the reasoning behind the hard boiled egg? I love the idea.
Hi Katy! Sorry not sure what you’re referring to here! But thank you for watching 🫶🏼
Lots of um…
Hi Joselyn! Talking smoothly without a script and to a camera does come with practice! I do expect more ‘um’s’ to had on my part for further videos. Thank you for watching! 🫶🏼
