This was excellent. I really like the idea of a vacuum sealed bag instead of a packing cubes. I remember traveling with Fronteier with only one backpack (before kids) and it was extremely easy and efficient.
Hi Katrina! Thank you so much for your feedback! In my personal experience I have only ever needed one vacuum sealed bag to contain all my clothes for a trip, with compression packing cubes most times I will need two which results in more space needed anyway, hence why I love vacuum bags. And with regards to traveling with children as a minimalist, my husband and I have thought about the challenges for when we think about trying to grow our family in the next couple of years, if you have any tips feel free to drop them here! 🫶🏼

You could make your pack even lighter if you utilize multi-use items like a charging cable with multiple plugs or those 3-in-1 charging docks that fold. For some of your liquids, there are reusable containers that are more compact.
Hi Yukia! We have several plugs and cables at home already so I’d prefer not to purchase more until my current ones no longer work. But when that happens I’ll keep in mind to replace them with multi-use ones like you mentioned! I also have a lot of the reusable containers for liquids, I just didn’t bother to switch them as the trip was so short! 😅 Thank you for your comment with great ideas and for watching! 🫶🏼

Hi Natalie! Thank you so much for your feedback! I feel that when it comes to minimalism everyone’s ‘baseline’ of how minimalist they can be is subjective, due to things they can’t control, like the need for medication/equipment due to health issues. So if you have a few more items for health issues, then I would say you pack just as minimally as I do! I could strip back on a few more items myself, but I got enjoyment and use out of everything I brought on this trip. And I’ll be sure to check out your videos too! 🫶🏼
@minimallyannabel yes! So true! Perhaps I have a little bit of packing envy as I *wish* I could pack for a 4 day trip in just an 18l bag! My last 4 day trip this past weekend I was around 32l between two bags. One of the bags served as my day bag once I arrived. All the best to you!
Having nothing checked in the hold, and also nothing up in the overhead, is the easiest way to fly. Underseat personal is so much nicer. With the assistance of laundry, you can make it just about anywhere.
Thank you for sharing. It would be good to have the weight of the bag before and after it is packed as some airlines have both size and weight restriction.
Hi! Some people have asked for the weight, but honestly in all the travel I have done I have never been asked to weigh my backpack! I don’t have a device to weigh it but I’m pretty certain it is under 15lbs/7kgs (the usual weight restriction). Thanks for watching! 🫶🏼
Impressive! I just watched your minimalist handbag video and saw your nano speedy there too. Would love a video on your minimalist handbag collection and slgs. And how do you keep your hands so pretty if you’re not carrying around a ton of hand cream?! It’s always an issue for me.
Hi Stephanie! Thank you for watching this video also! I have such a tiny handbag collection 😅 but I’ll maybe do a video on this soon! And for my hands, when I moisturize my face I just rub in what’s left on my hands together so I don’t need to carry a separate cream. I use PanOxly Oil Control with SPF 30, I have a very oily skin type just generally so the humidity and warmth in Florida keeps my hands soft. Back home in London I used to carry a hand cream because it’s so cold! DC was also such a short trip so I didn’t feel like I needed another extra cream 🫶🏼
Nice, didn't know nail cutters were ok. I hated not having one when a hangnail bothered me. But I always wonder why not many travelers bring slippers or sandals for their accommodations. Some hotels provide those thin cloth slippers with rubber soles, but I bring my own rubber shower slides for general use when not in shoes. Am a germaphobe when it comes to a place that isn't my own, but most especially door handles, light switches, tv remotes, sinks, toilets, and showers.
Hi! I never had an issues with nail cutters, but I’m the same when is comes to hangnails! I’m okay with wearing my socks in hotels but I know many people who also travel with slippers too in case the hotel doesn’t offer anything. Hi! I got it from Amazon, the brand is LOLE’S and the one I have is with argan oil. Unfortunately, it does contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which is an ingredient used to create the lather/foaming effect. For the moment my hair has not dried out from using this bar, but I am keeping an eye out for any changes! This probably won’t be suitable for dry hair types (mine is oily) as the conditioning in this bar isn’t that strong. I’m also on the hunt for the perfect shampoo/conditioning bar, but this one is not quite there, sadly. Thank you for commenting and I hope that helps! 🫶🏼
