if you fail to make the 1st one, follow these steps : 🥴 - 0:37 scale those vertices / dots to be more straight vertically - the mesh will slightly deform, this could help you to find the pattern in step 18 - 0:41 you don't really 'split' the edges , this is actually subdivision, in blender : select all -> right click -> subdivide, OR you can use subdivision modifier : level 1 - change algorithm from 'catmull clark' to 'simple' -0:42 make sure to really focus on this step, you need to find the exact selection pattern before inflating the mesh, -in blender you need to apply scale first, then use SHRINK/FATTEN : Alt+S ( scale along the normals ) to inflate *the creases in the middle might be barely noticeable, you might want to mark sharp, shrink those creases or if you want to use SubD, better add Crease value
I absolutely love this! I'm not kidding when I'm saying it's very helpful towards engaging critical thinking skills needed to reason out how to manipulate mesh in a 3D environment to create not just braids, but more using some of the techniques shown here! I definitely look forward to seeing more of this content from you!
Thanks! wish it was a lil slower and more clear maybe like voice over but otherwise this was the most useful tutorial on doing a fishtail braid ive seen so far
I hate to say it but this is pretty unhelpful. Its super hard to follow, its pretty to watch but its really bad if this was supposed to teach anything.
My head hurts..

any clue on the split edge part for the 1st one?
bro's wake up and decide to be the most useful comment in the year
ありがとう!
the animations are really cool to see but I think some steps are confusing and hard to follow without more information, like camera angle etc.
This video demonstrates how a mathematical formula takes the form of art. Bravo🙌
Although it was a little though to follow the steps with the animation it was cool.
I managed to make the 2nd model, thank you so much !
Thank you so much omg ♥ A bit difficult to follow along but very helpful !!
I’ve always wondered how to do this seeing those kinds of braids on 3D models before. Thank you so much for showing us how it’s done.
Very cool, smooth animation tutorial!
I definitely wanted to learn how you made braids like yours after seeing your Jolyne.

Within 2 minutes. This is awesome!

Спасибо за видео
Oh my God this is so beautiful
This comment was meant for the previous video, but none the less, this is also incredible 😢😢❤❤
This looks like origami 😊
Thanks, finally have a decent little mesh for making braids 👍
This is amazing..
I really broke my brain on step 9😵💫
great!
ありがとうございます。
Amazing tutorial thank you so much! Can you please show us how you texture as well! Please! Please! Please! ♥️♥️❤️🔥😭
thats so cool!!! its like origami!
すばらしいです!
Look very nice!
What did you do in the end of the first type ? you kind of close it in the end of the mesh and opened it in the start of it..
OMG WTF AMAZING !
thank you!
😂here for the comments
Wow!
So, how do you split edges like that? Where it just kinda adds cuts and slides?
I'm confuse too, trying to follow step by step but effect is not even close from tutorial.
OMG
I think I understand 😅
how to activate split edge like in this video
what software are your using?
too hard to do along
please make more videos ❤❤❤❤❤ please
🥰👍

no le entendí ni vrg jajaja pero buen vidio
give us a blend file of these 2 braids , the tutorial is not that good
fr like i’m so stumped on that first one 😭💀
pa la siguiente mejor echale mas ganitas y nos enseñas rey
WORST TUTORIAL EVER
brave, you teatch nothing
