To most people it's just a brick wall. Watching it being built however gives a whole new perspective on the skill and effort involved in making it look this good. Yet another brilliant example of how the professionals do it. Thanks Steve and Al. Hope you get that hip sorted soon mate, you can't keep taking all those bloody pain-killers Steve, they'll send you loopy. Or more loopy........

steve be careful what you are taking i know the doctor gave you them but just be careful some can upset your tummy . the way to take any medicine is to take the dose when you are told and do not take any more until it is time again people think oh i will top them up with a bit more it does not work that way as you are only over dosing which is dangerous TAKE care, thanks for the video

Not only is this a great wall, it is also a canvas for some paint, or a layer of render. Any colour or patten will do, the choice is the owners. Top job guys. 🖖👍Looks awesome.

Good evening Steve & Alex 😃 That is some wall 😳 the owner and neighbors must be good friends! I can’t understand why they wanted to replace the old wall with blocks the same hight causing the neighbors windows to be starved of any light. Great. Job to Finnish the wall on a bank holiday. I understand the reason for working a public holiday because of the weather and having to get the job done and off your books so you can start the next job. Great job and a good video thank you both 😀👍Just had a thought is the wall being built on a business premises ? Tom.

Allow me a question. In the US, a wall like this would usually require a permit, and inspection by the local building authority. It might (only might) have prevented that amazing original foundation from being built. But permits would prevent simply adding a course without approval. In our area, the entire wall would also be vertically reinforced.
Is the process different in the UK?

Another question, how do you attach that metal device to hold your string line , I had my house built 23 years ago and my mate the brickie, used 2 L shaped bits of wood, from GARRY in BArnsley

Cracking job done! One day, somebody is going to be cursing you when they want to take the wall down. That corner pillar is going nowhere without some swearing 😅. Out of interest, I'm intrigued by the original blocks you took down. Never seen anything like them. Do you think they were a locally made block? I read somewhere once that after the war when building materials were scarce and expensive, a number of small "cottage industry" manufacturers sprang up casting concrete building blocks out of any aggregate that could be got hold of locally, believe they were called Mundic blocks. Some good, some so so, some terrible made out of any old crap and rubbish mixed with cement.
