Completely agree. I understand the universities’ need to win but seems to be getting a bit excessive. In the annual Harvard Yale race in June of this year, zero Americans on the Yale varsity eight, three Americans in the Harvard varsity eight including the coxswains. Maybe more athletic American boys will pursue rowing as football becomes less desirable with the concussion concerns. We are certainly seeing that at my son’s high school with more boys playing soccer over football in the fall.
Rowing is the definition of no pain no gain. Maybe the best physical sport out there

Yale’s coach is amazing, I love seeing Yale,Washington, Cal but when it’s all said and done not sure how much it helps USA Rowing.
The British crews which beat the USA in 2016 did not have any athletes who went to American unis. Same with the current german crew, dutch quad, etc.
