It’s one of the things in hip-hop I wish was different. Hip-hop is the only genre of music that doesn’t appreciate their legends like they should.
Everyone wants to cheer you on on the way to the top, but the minute you get there they can’t wait to start throwing the tomatoes. Five years ago it was really hard to find somebody that listened to hip-hop to say something bad about Kendrick Lamar. I feel like today it’s in fashion to talk shit about him.
I watched it happen with Ice Cube, Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, Eminem , Dr. Dre, and then there are situations like you’re talking about like everyone should respect EPMD. Everyone should respect Eric B and Rakim. Everyone should respect Public enemy.
They’re not even talked. About to be disrespected though. It’s infuriating. Hip-hop is the number one music genre on planet earth. I’m not talking about personal taste I’m just talking about buy the numbers it’s easily the number one choice of music on this planet by the numbers. But I don’t understand why there is this push to just forget everything that came before. Then every other genre of music whether it’s classic rock or classic country or whatever the legends are celebrated.

Don’t you want to see your favorite artist rocking 20 or 30 years later? I’m not saying you shouldn’t like the new artist, but why do we throw people away like this?

One correction: the hospital and legally dispensed fentanyl is bad too, they just know how to dose it. But people overdose on legally prescribed fentanyl regularly. As your body builds a tolerance, it wants a higher dose to get the same effect. It will kill you quickly.
This is where Love means more than words. You can’t love someone and then tell them to get help without sitting there with them. You can’t say you care about someone’s health and wellbeing but can’t find the time to hold their hand through the pain. An addict hears your voice once or twice a day while that drug is talking to them every minute of the hour every single day. But you say you love them more than that drug? How can you prove that when you’re not even there? But the drug is. NOONES gonna beat ANY Demon they’ve conjured themselves without the help of outside interference. It takes Family and Friends to Help/Save Family and Friends. Stop waiting around and praying for God to step in. Cause all He/She is gonna do is take them away….
