Depends how you perceive the age of enlightenment, i believe we have an out of control global formality that could of been prevented through formal education for example institutions that force humans to continue education because society does , we cant all be book worms physical work is required but its hard to determine a fine line of when to continue your education and when you know enough to have a professional stand point on a subject . we must learn to take care of one another ut must be a primus we revolve around because when people are healthy we can focus collectively . rat race is what we have now and its Fair but why have Fair society's when we can have Prosperous society's beyond fair

I wonder how many philosophers have argued for the "necessity of benevolence"? I believe it would only be necessary if one desired a better society, and or simply a better life for others, and for one's self, and that benevolence would be antidotal to all the sociopathy that exist in the world if it were ever prolific, and ubiquitous enough. The Catholic Church and other entities believe in that assertion, despite their differences concerning forms, which some refer to as being merely garb, and that their form is fairly consistent, all seeking a greater good through benevolence. Benevolence always demands sacrificial giving in order to come into being. Christ was the most discerning of all philosophers. He hit the nail most directly on the head. He met man's most cruel device ever machinated, the crucifix, and dealt with it on a battle field of his own choosing.....and he does inspire a query into the supernatural, for what he taught concerns itself with man's greatest cry, which is his cry for salvation, and to be found without sin, in his deepest of being.

@@richardlaiche8303 There is a lot of madness in the world, but according to my own reasoning anyway, madness it outside of God's nature. How could such a failing of madness belong to a being attributed with perfection? There is a lot of problem with the God of the old testament for many of us, but ultimately, man's search for God is local to a great enigmatic hope. Man in his worse fallen state, and when he reaches his most dire straights, will always cry for his salvation, though give him an ivory tower lined with comforts, ease, and securities, and he can behave like an entirely different creature.
Buddhism is to Hinduism what Christianity is to Judaism, whereas both Buddha, and Christ saw a need to reform, taking older conventions, and shifting into newer ones.
Genesis is actually describing the same event in the cycle of civilization as what is described in the Revelation of St John, with patriarchy building civilization, and then something antithetical to that, always destroying it. Adam followed Eve into sin, and sin, of course as it will always go, into death.
I hope I can understand your perplexity, whereas I wrestle with my own from time to time, but they are actually affairs of the heart, and really nothing more, at least, that is what I have seen in myself...Peace out man.

"western philosophy begins with the greeks..." OK, time to exit the video. When are historians going to give proper credit to the ones to who have schooled the first greek philosofers? I'm talking about Kemet of course. Herodotus states with no mistake how the ancient egyptian were much more advanced in all the sciences of the time. Yet it doesn't seem to matter to mainstream history.

Just because Herodotus talked about those things doesn't actually mean that the Egyptians were that awesome. They were Great. No doubt. However, the Greeks were WAY better. Plus, they didn't rip off. They learnt and made WAY better ORIGINAL contributions to mankind ...

@@DipayanPyne94 Thanks for the reply. Yes, the Greeks kept the developments of their African teachers and went even further. I was asking exactly for this kind of honest recognition. Not to say that one people made greater the other. That would be a judgement of moral value, not to mention the different time frames and other historic and material factors. We can all have our own biases, but the honest, reasonable and scientific way is to recognize the contribution of all people, not just the one choose to identify ourselves with.

    • @DipayanPyne94

Well, it is just a FACT that the Greeks made MORE contributions to mankind than the Egyptians. I am not being biased when I say this at all. I am just being factual. Compare the contributions of the two civilizations and know the answer yourself. Any sane person will come to the conclusion that the Greeks surpassed the Egyptians like no one else. They were just too good ...
