the hybrid ceramic actually goes on and is more effective on a dry panel for anyone just seeing this. You have to put some more work in with a dry cloth to buff it but the effect is significantly improved over applying it wet as the bottle states. A few videos online tested it out.
I used for the first time today and applied to the full exterior after rinsing. Perhaps I sprayed too much or it partially dried, but I had to buff a lot. Maybe I should have done one panel at a time to wipe off right after spraying like you did.
Their 2 part "ceramic" wash (with "special" mitt), "ceramic" clay bar, liquid "ceramic" wax, "ceramic" spray wax, "ceramic" detailer are all impressive. Especially considering they are easy to find, off the shelf, consumer products 👍
Hello. Correct. The initial application (foundation layer) is “wax as you dry.” Each application thereafter is “wax as you rinse”. This is what was printed on our bottle. Thanks for watching
I understand the product works well, but the second application method is puzzling. Spraying the wax unevenly and then immediately rinsing it off seems counterintuitive to achieving full coverage on the panels.
I never use it like that. The first application I apply it like a wax with a damp mf towel on a dry panel, then buff off with a dry towel. After that I use it like a drying aid which is pretty much how the directions say to use on the 1st application. Better results and less product used
Hi David. The Meguiar’s Ceramic Wet Wax doesn’t seem to have a cure time listed. We’d say, give it a few hours before applying the Ceramic Detailer (green bottle). Probably overkill, but better to be safe. Take care and thanks for watching!
Is it me or did you miss the second step on the initial application? You are supposed to wet the car a second time , reapply and then wash off with the hose. Then in future applications you just do that second step. I using these both on my new car as I don’t think it still needs a coat of Ultimate Wax which I use on my other car.
The directions for the Hybrid Ceramic Wax can be a little confusing, but the 2nd step you are referring to is actually for subsequent washes after the initial application. There is a good discussion in the Meguiar’s forum that can help out. Trust us, the directions caused us to read multiple times to understand 😁. Thank you for checking out the video. meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?67080-How-to-use-Meguiar-s-NEW-Hybrid-Ceramic-Wax!
Good idea for another video. Just wanted this video to test this more as the intended use from Meguiar's, with the Ceramic Detailer being the maintenance topper. Thanks for watching!
We love the idea of drying faster, but towel drying with any product on the paint other than water, in our thoughts, distributes the product evenly across the surfaces and would avoid streaks/spot. Thank you for watching!
I got a hazy residue film using the hybrid wax on my black corvette.. I can go over it with a spray and wipe of meguiars x-press wax and it helps and brings back the shine. Does the ceramic detailer do similar - get rid of the haze left by the ceramic hybrid wax. I like the beading but it made my black paint look terrible close up. Oddly though looking at the black paint from an angle at a distance it really enhanced the shine and looks wet. So, that's great but a nasty film looking down onto the paint straight on.
That’s frustrating to get a film like that. We think the ceramic Detailer should help eliminate that issue, maybe even just a standard detail spray just in case it is a SiO2 issue. What year is your Corvette? Thank you for watching!
Same for me the first time I used it, Called the company and was told I used to much product, I rewashed and reapplied less product and it worked much better. I have been using it ever since with great results
I forgot to tell you guys the blue bottle one I take a mirco fiber towel in a bucket of water spray on panel spread it out an wait one second an buff off with a dry clean mirco fiber
You can use the Ceramic Detailer (green bottle) as you see fit until you wash again. (We use discretion depending how much dirt, grime, etc is on the vehicle) Thanks!
Hi, can you please tell me from your experience or opinion, how will this products work or do on gelcoat, on white or colored saltwater boats (which have be normal polished and waxed before- a old school way). Have and Would you do it on a boat or do you know somebody who have done it? I can't find anywhere who has do it on boats and how, and how long does is worth? I am thankful in forward for any information ...........
Hi Alen. We don’t have any experience on marine gelcoat. While this product will definitely last longer than traditional and will work, we would recommend a traditional ceramic coating or a ceramic spray coating. For the ceramic spray coatings we recommend; Hydrosilex Marine, Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating, or Adam’s Ceramic Spray Coating. These will yield longer protection based on our unscientific tests. Hope that helps. Let us know what you decide to use. Thanks for watching!
Hey guys, I promised a friend I would polish her car this week. I have these two products as well as meguiars ultimate polish, wet look & clear coat safe polishing compund. The car is red & has never been polished. Out of the products I have which would you recommend & in what order. Thanks so much
Hi Kevin. We would use all 3 of the products. Start with the polish (that should make the paint look great and correct very minor defects) after that, wash the vehicle and use the Ceramic Wet Wax ( follow the directions, as we don’t remember the application method for this product) and maintain with the Ceramic Detailer! You should have a great finish with protection after these steps. Have fun!
If you are going with Meguiar's, start with the Hybrid Ceramic Wax and maintain with the Ceramic Detailer each wash. What 2021 vehicle did you pick up? Thanks for the question and watching.
Good to know. Was it the Hybrid Wax or the Ceramic Detailer (or both) that we got a little carried away with? Just curious for when we use this in the future. Thanks for watching!
Went a little over board with the wax. I use it on a Kia Soul and and usually only put about 3-4 sprays on the entire hood. Also, I make sure I move the bottle pretty quickly and really try to just mist it on. Then a fairly strong rinse will do the rest of the work for you. Very easy to use.
While it won't hurt anything, the possibility of it protecting to it's full potential might be impacted as it seems to be activated by water. Thanks for the question!
That's good to hear! It's hard for us to get used to these newer and different application methods.(We're traditionalists at heart) Thanks for watching!

I find the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax to be more of a hype than actual usable. If you polish your vehicle and then apply a wax then this wannabe ceramic stuff is practically not beneficial. I find a Meguiar's Ultimate Line provides the best shine, longevity, and durability.
We have done some very basic, informal tests with the Hybrid Ceramic Wax to check out longevity. We did just one application, and it was the first to fail our hydrophobic test after one month in the Arizona sun. We agree with you on the Ultimate line. Time to review some of those! Thanks for watching and sharing your results!
@@PureOctaneGarage Y'all are absolutely correct as the ceramic hybrid wax does not last in the sun, but it does make a great topper/maintainer if you have already polished and wax.
