The brand name "Skor" actually comes from the Swedish word "Skör" (ö isn't the same letter as o, it's more like the letter u in burn, or e in Bernie or ea in learn), which means brittle, and there is a crown in the logo, similar to the three crowns in the Swedish national emblem. Check out this video *80's Commercials Vol. 187* at 6:15-6:44, where the selling point of the commercial is that Skor bar has "the taste of Sweden".
And Daim is better because it has less sugar too, about 10g less per 100g. More chocolate flavor. But Americans/Canadians might be put off by higher quality equivalents due to being used to overly sweet candy from the significantly higher sugar amounts or so.
That Kex choklad could have been old. I mean, if you get old candy it doesnt taste the same. Also, Sweden has the most developed candy in the world and I also think we eat the most candy per person in the world. We really really like our sweets. No country is close to the madness of diffrent candy we have in sweden.
The odds are that the U.S/Canadian sweets that you familiarize a certain taste with has in one way or another actually "ripped off" the Scandinavian recipe and not the other way around, most of the recipes for the best-selling-sweets here are well over 100 years old. Great video tho :)
skor bar 1981, daim 1952. had to check because that guy seemed to have zero filtering on what he says, but lets forgive him that hence he knows what homeless man taste like
Canadians Try Stuff I think that we're used to different things. I'm from Sweden and love Swedish chocolate as well as the Finnish Fazer and other european chocolate but hate chocolate in Canada an USA. I head that Americans use cacao powder in their chocolate but in Europe we use cacao butter (and some powder) :)
As many people has pointed out Daim is the original that Skor is based of. On the skor packaging there even is a swedish crown. And the word "Skor" translates to shoes in swedish.
Why is it that every video that people try some food or candy, there's always one person who doesn't like anything. And looks disgusted throughout the entire video. Guy in middle.
Considering I liked more than half of the stuff we tried in this video, I'm not sure what you're talking about. If you're trying to troll, you're doing a poor job.
My personal opinion is that both "Daim" and "kexchocklad" tastes much better refrigerated. Also all chocolate expect the "marabou" isnt really swedish, for example "anton bergh" is danish and lindt I believe is swiss.
2:39 those are actually ice creams here in Sweden! Tbh I also think it was weird they made candy version of them.. They did candy version of the sandwhich ice cream as well lmao!
Old pops figured out the secret of Kexchoklad, the more time it spends in your mouth, the more soft and tastier it gets. You take a huge chunk and let it melt in your mouth while chewing calmly.
Americans and Canadians don't seem to like stuff that has real/any flavor. Like I've seen so many Americans try stuff and they never like stuff that either isn't filled with artificial sweeteners and fat. Swedish candy and such doesn't use as much chemicals and weird shit and more real flavors. There's a reason we eat the most candy per person in the world, we got some good fuckin candy.
The daim bar is a "copy" of the heath bar. The guy visiting the factory wanted the recepie but he got the shoot down but managed to get a list of the ingredients with him to Sweden and he sent it to the recepie makers and tried to recreate the heath bar. So it's very similar to a heath bar.
The word Geisha 芸者 means cultured person. They are women or girls trained to perform the classic forms of cultural arts. Just thought you might want to know ;)
As a Swede I do concur about those 88 bits. The stuff they are made of is usually found as the coating of the 88 ice cream and then it is quite good tasting, but as a standalone thing they really suck. Don't know what the r and d department was thinking when green lighting that one.
I was 100% sure i had clicked on the wrong video when i saw you guys. Clicked for candy and suddenly I was in a post2post episode. Confused as hell haha

Japanese Geishas are female entertainers, their job is to make guests feel relaxed and content, they read, sing, play instruments, discuss and serve tea, but don't entertain in any sexual way, doing so would dishonor themselves, they were far higher up in the hierarchy than prostitutes. I'm sure there are still traditional Geishas in japan still.
Skor is actually a ripoff of Daim and not the other way around. Daim is almost 30 years older than Skor, and the name even comes from the Swedish word "skör" which means brittle/fragile. There's also a crown in the logo, which is an old Swedish symbol.
88 in candy-form? what?! never seen that anywhere...Normally it's a Vanilla ice-cream on a stick with some chocolate nib-things sprinkled on the entire outside of it.
I work with elderly and we have noticed that here level of dementia and type of candy go hand in hand like this: First they start liking mamelade candies, then they change in to Werther's Original and final stage are liquore filled candies. Don't know why but it's unbelievably accurate.

Daim was introduced in 1953 and Skor bars came in 1981, so I doubt its a ripoff...
The Canadians are ripping as off, by calling a sort of chocolate Shoes in Swedish.
It's totally a rip off xD but the other way ;)

Haha everything is not ripped off of America and Canada please. Daim is from 1953
Daim is a ripoff of the Heath bar.
@@brottarnacke :-:
The 'weird taste' is probably real sugar.
Reading that sentence reminded me of 1984, i they ate "fake" sugar?
its overly sugary with aa little cocoa rate, also a bunch of vanilla aroma. so that's why most people don't like Swedish choclates
@@jonathan130 If only we had dark chocolate. Oh wait, we do..
It's because North Americans are used to the Hershey puke stuff.
Skor bars have the swedish crown on their packages, was made almost 30 years later and have a swedish name, but yeah.. totally a ripoff LMFAO
Somethings wrong with your taste buds
cant belive they bashed marabou
How Dare they not like kex like wtf
KEX is by far the best one of them all..

88 is originally an ice cream (88:an). The ice cream is very popular, one of the best ever if you ask me, but the bites are a disappointment.
Disappointment? The bites are a disgrace! :p
Yes, the bites are awful
Ja. Bitarna är äckliga

Northamerican sweets and soda are often sweetened with corn syrup, while Scandinavian sweets are sweetened with sugar.
