    Dear Inga,

Always fun to sit and knit with you…
Those baby bassinets were very popular in the Alpine region, we call them „Stubenwagen“ in German and they used to be standard for daytime sleeping in the living room for young babies. We were lucky to be able to use my mother-in-law‘s from the 40s; it had such dainty pastel fabric from that time so I carefully sewed forest green ribbon edgings onto it to modernise it, it looked beautiful (this was 1991!). I think people find them old-fashioned now and sell them cheaply, such a shame - but I did just see one converted to a bike trailer this last weekend 🤣👍

Your lace coverlet is a beautiful heirloom for both practical and special occasion use! When you or others make toys with eyes, be sure to make high color contrast eyes. These will be focal points that your daughter will gaze at while she's learning to move her eyes. I observed this with my own babies. Of course, when she gazes at you, that will be the best of all! Child development was my first area of study and work, and it's such a delight to see what one learns jump off the page of a book onto the behavior of a real child! 😊💕

Inga if you have something in Norway called Dawn Power Dissolver, or a similar thing used normally for tough stuck on food for pans, I’ve never used it for pans but use it for stains on clothing. The stuff is amazing and will get out your stains. Just one or two sprays directly on the spot and let it sit for a bit. I usually just spray on my clothes and throw in the laundry hamper until I do laundry. But I’d say 5 to 15 minutes is long enough then just a light scrub with your fingers and cool water and it should be gone. I have even used it on clothing that has gone through the wash and dryer and then I see it when folding laundry but I spray and throw it back in the laundry and it comes out! I even used it on red wine stains on my husband’s shirt last week. It will not hurt the material but works amazingly.

The Pirate Purls polwarth/silk base is absolutely divine! I picked up some last weekend at an Australian fibre festival. I spoke to the dyer, and she recommends Blackbeard for accessories and shawls, as polwarth is a very fine wool and will tend to pill with heavy abrasion. I think it would also be delicious for knitting very soft cuffs and collars on garments that have more rustic wools as the main body.

As mentioned in so many comments, you are glowing and what wonderful ideas for baby knits. I like your color palettes for yourself and your little girl. Thank you, Inga! Once again you have inspired me to continue on my knitting adventures! I will made the Claude Cardigan! I am currently designing my own garter cropped jacket. Just from some wool I once bought on clearance. But I long to follow a proven design! The one I am struggling to design myself is based on the Einstein cardigan. It had sideways garter , casting off and casting on for the arm openings. Then picking up stitches to knit the sleeves, and then sewing along the top of the sleeves and shoulders all on one go. I use a crochet hood to slip stitch that seam on the right side for a design element. I'm no designer, just making it to fit me. It's fun, but can't wait to knit the Claude!

The food stain comment is funny. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and it seem like I've become more of a messy food person as my tummy had grown. It must be a combination of eating more often, my spoon now traveling farther to get to my mouth because I have to sit so far away from the table and just general pregnancy clumsiness. Oh well. I'm glad you're not letting yourself get too upset about it. Anyway, I always love your videos, I've been watching since like the second episode. So, even though you don't know me, part of me feels like we're old friends. :) Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

On the dress, if you want a true A-line continue the regularly spaced increases. If you want a straighter (but not form fitting) dress just do as planned and increase to the desired circumference then knit at that count until the hem. With fine, soft yarn either shape will be soft and flattering. The true A-line will flute at the hem due to drape and extra fullness. Two different but equally nice looks.

    Dear Inga,
First of all, congratulations on your baby!!! I have done a lot of knitting for my children (9) and grandchildren(13). My very favorite patterns for baby sweaters are from Marianna Mel - free on ravelry. they are all in one sweaters - top down and you can knit the sleeves in the round if you want to. They are very cute.

Your finished knits especially the new kaftan and the garter stitch pattern soo warm. The socks are beautiful and look cosy. The Rananculous top looks stunning on you. The Cumulus Tee/dress advice you will need finish the Icord neckline to keep a good structure to the dress. That is lovely Mail you received. Plans and more plans for the future. Take care sweet Inga

I'm also a messy cook and eater (I make a lot of Indian food!) so I have collected a few second hand aprons, which I would recommend! :)

What a super episode, thank you. Loved the moon rise, reminded me of the Munch painting, maybe that was a super blue moon too. Looking forward to seeing all these knitted toys emerging. By the way the usual translation for kommune is municipality.
