- Willie Murphy's visceral piano playing and gritty vocals mesmerize in this track, "Mud Puddle," from his 2009 album "A Shot of Love in a Time of Need."

so good
Imagio1953 it’s a midi synth controller called ztar z6. The synth patch is from a korg triton similar sounding to the synth on the recording. I chatted what Willie played and payed something like it.
So super😎😎😎😎😎
This is the song that got me hooked and the reason why I did the gig. jazz composing by Willie Murphy. this is a fine example of how it can be done. Alt rock pales in comparison.
We, Willie and I were walking to a film...over in Uptown....and he gave me the first preview of this number, he was still working on it..just him, his snapping fingers..and the "rap"...right on the street.....well.actually in the alley.
@@joycehowe4931 This was a breakthru and one of the reasons I asked him to let me play on the gig for this record.
@@RadioJoe54 Rockin' Robin here......That finger snapping coffee house poet improv is like being hypnotized by a cobra. I want to know what is going on with that crazy guitar/theramin thing you used.
See my reply above
Yep, Willie's on guitar, rapping.

Too bad he doesn't actually play piano in this tune....
He can't do everything at one time..
It's a pretty safe bet that he wrote the two-note minimalist piano part that totally fits the track.
