This video is well done and engaging, but it presents a romanticized view of engineering. This video makes it seem that if you pursue engineering, you're going to be the next Thomas Edison or Elon Musk. Edison said "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety nine percent perspiration." Engineering school and the career itself take a lot of hard work and dedication, you will not just be able to create your wildest dreams and build whatever you want (unless you're really lucky). Starting out in engineering, many people work on a computer all day and you take direction from your boss. It may be tedious and frustrating at times, but it is a good career if you stick with it. One day you may be able to design and build that wild idea you had. But let's be honest and not give kids the wrong idea about what engineering actually is. And just so you know where I'm coming from, I have a mechanical engineering degree and am a high school engineering teacher.
Hello, grumpy. I have a math degree and am a high school math teacher (so just as qualified as you)... I would never squash dreams like this, we are trying to engage and inspire. Sounds like you need to follow your dreams and leave teaching even though it is safe and secure. My father is a simple civil engineer and has many things he is proud of from his career, you need to pursue something new if you truly are that jaded as a teacher.
Just want to say that Edison what really a decent inventor. He bought other people’s designs and techniques and used them. But also, dude, buzzkill. Seriously. Anyone can be an engineer if they try.
Flying cars would have been possible for decades now. Why isn't anybody building them? 1) You'd need a license for personal small aircraft to pilot them, which just isn't as easy as driving a vehicle that rolls over the land surface on wheels. 2) Accidents would have a much higher fatality rate. If you drop out of the air from a high altitude, chances are you won't survive. 3) Energy consumption would skyrocket, because you need an incredible amount of energy just to stay in the air, since gravity is always pulling you down.
You forgot one important point: infrastructure. The infrastructure of big cities is not made for flying around. Even if there are enough people who can drive a flying car, you can't just fly through the city with that. That would only lead to major accidents. The whole infrastructure of the city needs to be redesigned and rebuild in order for flying cars to fly through them.
Great video! Awesome style. Everything is engineered and designed and tested and perfected (hopefully!). Our world is engineered for our lives :) Cheers!
A lot of engineering is hard graft, welding/fabrication is an industry that usually causes long term harm in your physical health. Design engineers don't just design/draw anything, usually it's the same or similar things that that specific company make.
the result is poison, which already existed, you can be killed before any disease start to develop and in that way, it will stop the disease, in some sense.
Pov school brought you here 😂😂😂
fbm
Yeah m8
Yep

HELLO TO THE PEOPLE IN TECH CLASS !

imagine being a buzzkill smh luke
Nice inspirational video. Thank you. I will use it in my presentation to high school students on the great opportunities in Engineering.
Not the girl saying she doesn’t know what’s an engineering😭😂 I came here so y’all could explain me

engineering is math to the extreme

0:39 that sounded like me...🤘
cool.
Very inspiring video to be a computer science engineer. Thank you NSF.

This adds a lot value to the word engineering and what they really are and what they really do.
engineering gives good life style
Great video . Thank you :)
This video is so inspiringggggg thank you 😊
Inspiring video, works for me, thank you NSF.
i love engineering friends
School brought me here. Hello
Excellent video, thank you so much, NSF.
dont gotta comment twice bruh
Inspiring video. Thank you NSF.
dont gotta comment twice bruh
I think engineering is deal with hard things and hard problem.sol ve problem and achieve new thing .develop yourself until forever 😊
Great
“I would like to invent a medicine that will stop the disease” -Some idiot
First Last piss off

There are textile engineers :-(
We all had our teachers bring us here
the real future ::
we dont exist anymore!
Yeah
Engineering is just a word that people say to themselves when they use their brains to think instead of act by their animal impulses... ñ.ñ
I like this video a lot.Thank you NSF.
If you a good engineer, then you end up working for the military-industrial complex.
Just me or whos here for dms
"You don't have to be a genius to be an engineer". Yeah, I'm one example who isn't smart enough, and I ruined everything.
My father is an engineer oil damn...
school got me here..
#ClimateEngineering
#ClimateEnergyStorage
Curiosity brought me here
Omg
ima build harambot
Ok
Who else is here because of FEBE1000?
BRUH
lol sup
get off your mobile and make something,
This sucks
