Thanks to Jenny Erpenbeck’s “Kairos” for directing me to this piece!
One of the best uses of twelve-tone.
Clearly one of the most "romantic" ones, beautifully evoking associations of a melancholy walking around in the rain.
This is the soundtrack for Joris Ivens' movie "Regen". Eisler called it 14 different ways of being sad. Thanks for sharing this!
Great 👏🏻👏🏻
This almost sounds like Alban Berg's use of 12-tone Serialism.
Buraya, Enis Batur'un "Gülmekten Ölmek" adlı kitabının 129. sayfasından geldim. İyi ki kitaplar ve müzik var!
4:11 Nr.5
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
6:59 Nr.8
Even the rain in Germany sounds angry...
I think it was composed as the soundtrack to a short film from 1929 by Dutch filmmaker Joris Ivens titled "Regen", which shows a rainy day in Amsterdam (you can find it on UA-cam as well). I guess maybe Dutch rain sounds angry, in that case?
poor viola
???
It has a 7:00 one of the best section in this piece
The person playing the violin part also plays the viola part. Same as in Schoenberg's Pierrot lunaire
