Awesome idea Dennis! Nice video, as always you are very thorough and informative with the presentation. I hope this will generate a lot of positive interest in the tool, certainly looks like something most of would need to use at some point, especially in an emergency situation! Great job, and congrats on your invention!
Hy ,I just saw your video of the wire clamp and I was impressed how goog it is so I wonder if you please tell me how you make it and the materials you used for ,THANKS.
Hi Jose. I haven't made any clamps for several years. My clamp was made with a notched 4" 1/4 X 20 Carriage Bolt. The barrel is made of 6061 Aluminum. I machined the barrel and pressed a knurled cap on top with washer in between, as you can see in the video. There are 2 holes in the washer for the wires. The barrel is threaded 1/4 X 20 through the length for longevity. That's it! The prototype used a "wing nut" ..... Cheers!
@@dennisbarton7373 THANKS, I appreciate that you answered my question and explained me the procedure of making the clamp,is very elegant i love it , you should selling it i will be one of your customers, again THANKS YOU.
Seven (7) times the 'diameter' is adequate but you might add about 4" to insure enough to insert into the device. Naturally, there will be waste wire. The point is moot however because I haven't made any devices in over 5 years. I moved and my lathe is in storage. I might start making them again once my new shop is built.

I suppose that when you say the diameter, you actually mean the circumference.
Am I wrong?
