In my opinion I think you'd get better results with a zeroed in red dot sight and a BCAR. Walcom's mod would actually allow you to attach a BCAR. I did it to mine.
@@mitchhifi9192 I've used a seagull and it's pretty nice. The mk4 is heavier (9lbs) and the shell quality isn't that much worse than the seagull I used but that's negligible in my opinion. I like how robust it feels. I never had a chance to use a swift or harrier though
@@PaulJamaleWilson Its actually better then the swift in some ways. The swifts rear stock is sturdier by a lot but the front shell is to brittle for high spring loads. The MK 4 is basically a swift clone and the overall shell is just more durable under high springloads.
@@maikobayashi1910 that's interesting. I wonder if the obvious parallels to the swift are the reason the mk4 has such a middling reputation . The only complaints I've seen from people online are the fact the extended muzzle doesn't take rifling, simple five minute fix. But it's seen as another fail from DZ.
@@PaulJamaleWilson A lot of people that would have wanted the MK4 already had a swift or a harrier when it came out and probably already replaced or reinforced the dart gate and shell on the swift if they did. Even if this technically better, if you already had a swift you probably wouldn't get it. And then confirmation bias kicks in of people saying ohh its just a more expensive dart zone swift ripoff and they didn't even try it.
at original msrp it was a bit rich considering the competition at the time (Worker Harrier/Swift). However, it has a huge plunger tube and all metal internals where it counts (plunger, tube, catch, priming rod), so it's capable of achieving more power than the Harrier. I think DZ was trying to make a single blaster that could be used for several FPS cap sitiuations, and it bit them a little. I think if they'd simply made it so the included PCAR could attach to the extension it would have made a huge difference. However, the best move would have been to make it a bit of a "secret" mod (exposed non-orange barrel is a no-no) to somehow be able to open the extension up and adjust it to expose enough for a b/pcar. Or even sell a modified end bit to change it yourself, OR have a 3d-print file users can download for free to use the new B/PCARs they sell (I'm actually a little surprised they haven't done this).
Good points all around. I felt like the PCAR in front of the booster barrel would have been way too long, which is why I did the integration. It works fine not just needs more spring.
Mano, que paso!? You already have a video about dot sights and pro/performance blasters. Test accuracy with dot sights. About the MK4. No thanks. I paid $50 for a Nexus Pro X and $25 for a dot sight.
Except its actually possible to prime it at high fps and looks a million times cooler. Edit: and is stronger and can do way higher fps and is more moddable
I got mine right around release time and I'll be honest with you my blaster hits 300 plus And all it cost me was a 1.6 by 30 cm Swift spring and a 580 sabre barrel
What I've done with mine is replace the stock strong spring with a 1.6mm Worker Swift spring, flip the spring post around to turn it into about 25mm of spacer, add about a half inch of extra barrel to the extended muzzle, and then add an adjustable Worker 12-string SCAR to the end. With that setup, I've gotten numbers up to 300 FPS, and I've gotten _deadly_ accuracy when the SCAR is tuned right. All that is to say that my opinion is: It's certainly not for everybody, but if you mod, it does not take a lot to build it into an absolute powerhouse!
NNN Great look at this blaster. Was thinking about this one but it doesn't appear it does anything that the ones we have can't do. Thanks for all the great videos.
I'm honestly wondering where you got the foregrip from. The one that came with it is just a bit too big, and I want something more akin to yours. As for first impressions? I've always wanted a long-gun, and stroke for stroke, is far more accurate than any of my other blasters. I've tagged someone from at least 150-200 feet away with mine. The only mod I did was Walcom's style, attaching the B-car to the extender. So for 200 FPS games, this is a definite must.
It's the Captain Slug Talonclaw grip as I stated in the video! I love it! I also have the integrated PCAR inside the booster now and it works with a Mk1.2 barrel as well! Check this out! ua-cam.com/users/shortsjUs-OgsrMq8?si=LG1m_xOxt9Q4vzpn
I didn't originally really want one all too much. However I got the chance to get a gold one. I had the money for it and everything but I missed out because they don't ship to me... And I will never stop complaining about it.
flip the sights up and adjust them. they dont work in the down position. make contact with your jaw on the top of the blaster and adjust. my mk4 is a sniper if i hold it properly. worker darts are trash. use the dart zone bamboo.
The sights have a notch and blade when collapsed. It’s the inconsistency of the blaster itself that didn’t make me feel like I could assume a permanent cheek rest. Competition only uses Worker darts so I have to politely disagree with the trash “statement”. DZ bamboo darts are very light and fly fast but they’re very inaccurate. Check out the Bradley Phillips videos when you can. Lots of good information that’s rich in data too!
@@notnuffnerf i have to disagree on the darts and the sights. i flipped my sights up and adjusted them. im repeatedly hitting a 1 and a half by 3 inch target at 35 feet. a mint tin. my record is 4 dart zone bambo darts in a row. it loves those darts. its a shame they only use workers in tournaments.
Im in the "Its stupid long and unecessary camp". I currently own the Red Chrome Mk4 from Maryland Foam Tournament, and I think using it in competitive games would be a nightmare. The foregrip is so far forward and its going to cause issues choking up on cover.
Used one for a bit in our local meetup. Nice build, but way too big for me, especially considering the performance it offered. And of course, it was quickly overshadowed by better and cheaper blasters.
I’m a bit biased to the Trion for reasons I’ll explain in a future video, but the Trion just works for me. It’s a laser rifle that works right out of the box.
I did this combo, but i had replace that tube in the stock where the spring rests when using the swift 1.8 spring. It works, but i think the prime is very stiff
Its the best high fps blaster ever made. It looks better than swift and is stronger. It can easily be primed at high fps spring loads. Its fing awesome
Swift is stronger and utilizes better barrels. Aestheticly, there's barrel shrouds that make it much better. The only thing going for the mk4 is it's cheaper and comes with a better stock foregrip. That aside swift was better.

originally waaaay too expensive for what it offers lol. I would consider buying one for about $60-80 though

Too big. Having to change one's hand position after priming is not ideal.
Got mine on sale for 100 bucks. I love it. A couple cheap easy mods and it's hitting 300+ fps. Built like a tank as well
Is it as well built as a worker Swift/harrier, seagull and to a lesser extent the Nightingale

It seems like the point of pump action is kind of defeated if you have to break your grip, rack it, then re grip the blaster.
